Candice Wolf was glad to be away from the bandits, and incredibly thankful to be feeling better. In fact very little trace of her wounds remained at all. It was creepy, but she still was grateful for it. At this point everything was creepy. The factions, the radio tower messages, the vines, the undying.
The fireworks were exceptionally creepy. The world was gift wrapped in terror and going to hell and someone was putting on a fireworks show! Unless it was someone signaling for help. Candice followed the shooting bursts of light, wary of the undying that would be most likely heading toward the sound and lights. Surprisingly she was met with nothing other than an outrageous casino. Everything was creepy. The whole place set her on edge. What was a casino doing, all lit up and apparently setting off fireworks, at the probably end of the world? How!?
Candice really wanted to just walk away, but that meant back to the bandits, and there still could be survivors. She also unknowingly sought the idea of normalcy, so she pushed past the doors and stepped inside.
Not that casinos were normal for Candice.

As you enter the casino gates, a few sensations hit you at once. First is the smell, smoke and cigarette fumes everywhere. Then the loud chattering, the distinct smell of alcohol. There are impressive, entirely functional slot machines rolling as far as the eye could see. There are people just casually playing at various tables. The sight is surreal.
You wander around it, just a little longer, unsure what to do. How you wander is up to you. What you see is pretty much the same for each player. People just playing casually in a casino. A real life, working casino.
A person wearing a fashionable suit and vest combo comes to you, and passes you an expensive-looking cocktail. Whether you take it or not is up to you. "Welcome to Delta Casinos! To begin, we will play with a currency called Casino coins. You can use them later for fantastic prizes!"
You are given [ 50 casino coins] from the attendant:
Candice was even more surprised by the inside, how normal it seemed. The sounds of people, of which were having a good time where comforting. She'd only been to a casino in Vegas, so she wasn't an expert, or much into gambling, but she longed to forget it all and enjoy the casino. The smell was repellent and yet something other than prison smell was welcome.
Wandering seemed the best option. It all seemed legit, despite probably being around more criminals. She watched a few games until a man offered her a cocktail, which she refused, and some coins. [Gained 50 coins]
She continued her slow walk around the place till she found an empty blackjack table. A well-dressed dealer waited and greeted her when she approached.Candice was pretty sure she knew how to play, it was just 21.
She didn't do very well. She was hesitant to ask for another card, and when she did it sent her over. She was terrible at gambling.

Candice kept at it, just so she didn't look like a total idiot. She didn't register the dizziness at first, having dealt with it for a what felt like forever now, but when her vision was so blurred she couldn't even see the cards she started to freak out. As soon as she tried to move her eyes rolled back and she fainted.
Candice was horrified. She didn't like being restricted and she didn't like the voice. She had to buy herself. She should have stayed away from the damned place. She gulped hard at the mention of a dinner fundraiser. Any crack made about dinner meant you were the dinner. She tried to struggle harder now but it was no use. She didn't want to ask questions, she wanted to find the announcer and officially meet him with a nice one to the face.
She did send out a wave a mumbled curses as the attendant lifted her, chair and all, into another room. Candace stared shocked at the attendant. She could't pick, what the hell. She couldn't pick. The announcer mentioned a clock ticking and so she wildly looked toward the younger man, making obvious eye movements. She then looked pathetically back to the woman. Looking back the teenager was untied but immediately ran for it. Running without a plan was never a good idea in hostage situations. She was't surprised they killed him, and that hurt. Poor kid.
Candice is finally untied and as soon as her mouth is free she says. "What the hell! You killed him! He was just a kid! Who are you people!?" Was this the they that was mentioned in the radio tower messages?
No one answered and she was pushed into the main room. It looked like the one she was in earlier. She hated casinos! She had to play though, there were guards and she figured they wouldn't hesitate to kill off any deserters. Glumly she went back to wandering. She had to get herself free, and then she would worry about everything else.
She should have known someone would profit from the end of the humanity.
