Cool! The title should probably reflect the general plot somehow, so it may be best to come up with that before deciding on that. I know that since I was the one who brought up wanting to do this RP, I did have a few ideas for things I'd like to see happen...but I'm open to suggestions from everyone! 3nodding
This is going to be awesome! Though its a pirate RP, we need to create the basic plot.

Yeah I realized that after I sat here staring at the title box for a while. xD Those two names just sorta came at me from the blue and I liked em so I wrote em down.
As for plot ideas I'm sorta running on empty atm, I'll have to dig through Kurai's pirate RP and see if we can steal a plot from there. razz
It also might be good idea to present our current character ideas. I know I've mentioned character concepts to MM and Shade but not Fallen.

Shade mentioned ressurecting his Killer-whale anthro Chef-Pirate whos name I cannot remember off the top of my head. xD MM mentioned the possibility of being a Crocidile Hybrid.
So some sort of anthro-ish thing. I think I may be able to think of so!ething. Let's see shark orca whale crocodile.... Now just need to think of something myself.

I kinda like an idea suggested by a conversation between myself and Viper; the ship would be sorta like Davy Jones' ship from Pirates of the Caribbean, in that anyone who stays on board for too long slowly starts becoming some sort of anthro...maybe even a multitude of species if you're there for much longer than others! We were also discussing perhaps having a creature theme for the ship, which would be pivotal in having that idea at play. If thats not cool with everyone (Fallen in particular, since we haven't heard any character ideas from you yet), then thats fine. Just a suggestion! burning_eyes Although, I think it may be interesting to have a character (or characters), who are brought aboard for anything from prisoners to new recruits, that aren't an anthro to give an outside perspective...and maybe even play a slow transformation sub-plot! twisted Maybe the general plot could be something like this: Our ship is just a normal ship with a normal crew, until one night the Goddess of the Seas shipwrecks us. She explains that she has done this because she needs a force in the mortal world to hunt down a nefarious character who has stolen some precious artifact from her which allows her to "birth" all life into the sea. Without it, all sea life will slowly die off and the seas will dry up. (Also, no one who is pregnant that is at sea can give birth while at sea, either!) So she curses us (making us anthros or whatnot) until we can return her thing and bring the thief to justice! Maybe call it "Pirates: Hunt for the Medallion of Maternity" or something! Or, "Galleons & Goddeses: Hunt for the Medallion of Maternity," like Dungeons & Dragons. I dunno... Of course, we could always call it "An Unexpected High Seas Adventure." Ha-ha! rofl
So far have one idea that I like, sortaripped off inspired by the Selkath of Star Wars. They're manta rays people really like that idea. I'll think of some other ideas too!

I like the idea of being shipwrecked, that gives reason to there only being four of us. And that title... I LOVE IT! heart
And lets take the goddess idea one step further. As shipwrecked sailors, this is were we turn to piracy to survive and get back home. But while marooned one, two or all of us could be 'blessed' by a vision that gives us this god's quest.

Personally, I was thinking we'd just use our own universe with it's own deities and stuff. That's just me wanting to be extra creative, though!
I'm afraid as Captain, I veto naming my ship Alestorm. It's an awesome name (and funny reference), but that just doesn't seem personal enough to name a ship. Perhaps that's just me, though.

Siridia : Lost Treasure of the Vanishing Ocean
Then one day it vanished along with the magic sea, and some of its people scattered to the winds or vanished with it. The magic Siridia gave never vanished but the world changed. The scatter siridian artifacts gave whoever found them great power, and soon the world began to be corrupted by the awesome powers they gave. Benevolent kings became tyrant rulers, the navy hearts turned as black as a pirates, pirates didn't really change much. The pirate Queen Annetta was the most ambitious finding the ancient civilization. While she did not manage to write exactly what she found she released curse to the world where she challenged all those to bring the souls of siridia back to their home. Releasing an unknown evil back to the world to find them. giving the world a motive to play it safe, or gain more power. A thousand years have passed and most the artifacts, history, legends, curses have been forgotten... well until now that is.
Story arc for Kurai_wolf's original Pirate RP just in case we wanted to adapt it to our own needs.

Might make things even more interesting if the low ranking sailors (Fallen/Shade) had the visions, after all why should the Captain and first mate listen to the Chef and (insert Fallen's position of choice here). I just totally pictured Shade's killer-whale chef beaning somebody with a frying pan for not listening to him, lol. xD
Awww but Besmara is a Chaotic Neutral deity, we could have some fun unwittingly doing the bidding of a not-so friendly goddess.
And yeah, I saw that one coming but I had to throw it out there anyway. xd Also a point to be made, are we naming the first ship we take control of? Or the ship we sink on? Cause we could name both depending on how big a role we wanted each to play...

Per Viper and I's private discussions: I was thinking the initial shipwreck killed off all but the strongest of it's sailors; Viper and I. All of the humanoid sailors but us died, because the Goddess had plans for us. She somehow grants us a new ship, a cursed ship. (Perhaps through a soul bond with me.) The other characters came along later, and may not necessarily be happy with their curse. After all, most sailors who sign up for recruitment wouldn't be expecting that! Shade could have been with us for a while, so he has already reached his major anthro stages. Fallen could even be new to the ship (as prisoner or recruit) when the story begins, so she can transform as the story progresses! Yes?
Well, our deities don't have to be friendly, either! In fact, I kind of imagined them being sort of CN anyway, as most such beings would be. Though honestly, I imagined her as more of a benevolent flirt than anything malicious; that would the the other Goddess!
Ideally, I imagine all of this stuff we're currently discussing to be a relatively brief prologue that sets the story up. We could revisit some of the shipwreck in flashbacks or whatnot, but ultimately I saw the story starting off at a brusque pace.

I think the transformation part of it is just adding extra kinks in our road atm. I'll have to dig Shade's message out of my DA notes but I believe we our characters had some sort of interaction that tied them together (besides the cheesy ship puns for names).

I mean, assuming the transformation stuff all happened a long time before the story begins like I suggested, it doesn't really present any issues that I can see. eek Also, I thought we were starting up fresh with all of these characters. I didn't know there would be pre-existing stories to contend with. sweatdrop Anyway, mayhap we should just wait a spell and see what Fallen and Shade think! 3nodding
I've got all of Alestorm's albums, so good and when you're driving around the city blasting pirate themed metal people give you funny looks. Always worth it.
As for the story I think that adopting some ideas from Kurai's old RP isnt a bad idea (Really hoping she gets back into writing that one too was a real romp) Transformations could be later in the story or a result of the shipwreck and someone pleading to the goddess or spirit whatever they call it,.
I'm rather liking Satan's Mermaid got it from this website
