Safety. That was all Tyler could think about. The fireworks made him nearly jump out of his skin at the initial boom. Immediately, his head jerked around to the infected - to the threats. But they did not move to the sound. They did not move toward sounds like that used to. It had felt like a life time where he was sneaking around in silence, wincing at the smallest sounds in fear of being detected. But here was this sound - fireworks - exploding in the air with a flashy display of lights and .... nothing. If the infected were not moving, he certain was going to. Any place without infected was better than out here. However, if he ran... he would risk drawing attention. So he shambled in that direction.

He didn't understand. Tyler was standing in front of the brightest, draw-your-attention-here light display he had every seen. It was a Casino with fireworks and lights, two things that would certainly draw the infected's attention and yet... none were to be seen around. Swallowing a lump he hadn't known was there, he pushed himself inside. Not only was it a safe place from the infected, there may be something salvageable... but the last time he had gone somewhere with people... it hadn't turned out too well for him. Hopefully, these people are nicer.

That's asking for too much, isn't it?

Your character selects to play Blackjack! They seat themselves at an empty table with a dealer. Make a new post in your [ Casino solo ] thread. Roll 2d12 (2 12-sided dice). If your character gets anywhere between 15 - 20 for their number they win 5 casino coins! You can only play this once. Write your RP reaction to what you have done/ experience with it.

Make sure in this post you include your usual OOC segment [ AND LOG THE AMOUNT OF CASINO COINS YOU HAVE ]. You should have a base of 50 to start!

First was the hit. The familiar hit of smoke and cigarettes that he had so longed for, wakening up monsters and demon from inside that made him crave so so much. Then there was the next hit of his senses that made him want to explode. Alcohol. Oh how he had wanted to taste that familiar taste on his lips again and yet... maybe... could he? Looking at this was almost impossible. It had been over a month since it all happened. But here, in this casino, it was as if everyone was absolutely oblivious to the going-ons outside. It was like they were in a perpetual world of gambling and casino life.

Tyler wandered around to see people play, laugh, and be merry. Just like in those typical movies with the guys in tuxes and girls hanging on them because they have money... until he was interrupted.

"Welcome to Delta Casinos! To begin, we will play with a currency called Casino coins. You can use them later for fantastic prizes!" Said a guy in a fancy suit, forcing a flute in one hand and coins into the other before running off to greet another.

Tyler sat himself down at an empty black jack table with the dealer who smiled at him. He was familiar with the game. It was an easy game to understand. Get as close as possible to 21. He placed his bets and looked at his cards.

He grinned at his ace and six. Seventeen is a credible number. Generally, if it was above 16, he didn't wanna bet anymore. Chances were never good with him.

Tyler was never one for school. It was why he dropped out during his sophomore year. Stupid teachers think they know everything and what was best. They didn't know him. They never did. And now he was sitting - restrained - in another classroom. There was a twinge of fear, but mostly anger. So that was it, huh? Lure people in with games and cigar smoke and alcohol, drug them - how stupid was he? He should have known better - and then put them in this stupid game. Now they had to buy themselves to set themselves free? Ridiculous.

He prayed he had the winning lottery ticket to get out of this...

Quote:
Before you can talk again, an attendant, wearing the Casino suit and vest, comes over and grabs you and your entire chair. You are dragged into a separate room. There are two people in the room, in the same situation as you.

"Now," booms the announcer voice in the new room, a much smaller one, "these are the losing players from the last game. A Bunch of sore losers if you ask me. But we're giving you a chance to redeem one as their patron. If you manage to buy yourself out of the games, then you will also buy one of them out too. Now, which one will it be?"

Tyler nods to the young lady, much to the panic sounds coming from the young man. Tyler doesn't look at him... for a moment before his curiosity wins him over to watch what was going on. There was a good chance that it could happen to him still or to the young lady. It was then the casino attendants approached the young lady who wiggled and tried to get away in vain before she is cut free of her bonds. They then turn to the young man who is pulled from his chair and beaten until they could drag him away without a fight. Tyler watched as the blood created a trail along the floor as they went.

They enter the next room, but Tyler doesn't question it. He doesn't want to know. Would it be better to know the truth than to live in denial of what his imagination suggested? Probably... ignorance is bliss.

Quote:
You and the lady are brought into the next room where both of you are given a chance to clean yourselves in a mirrorless washroom with no windows at separate times. She has just enough time to thank you before she is dragged away. You are alone again as you are escorted down the hallway. A single door lies in front of you. The door opens.

The pair qquietly clean themselves up in the washroom. She offers a quiet thanks before an attendant grabs her, pulling her away from him. Tyler is left alone again and follows another attendant - after pulling his arm out of his grip and suggested that he could walk himself - to another door.

Tyler grumbled as he was manhandled by two attendants as they fixed a collar around his neck. He couldn't see it but it was the first thing that he did when they him go. He found the closest reflective surface to find out what it read. "Eighty?" He whispered to himself. Jerking his head around, he looked at everyone else. Other people from other factions, other Downtowners... fixed with similar collars. "Damn it..."
