Quest #7: Target Practice: Description: Gotta get that high score, right? Use those arcade guns for good!
Goals: Play three rounds of the zombie shooter game, Undying House The Third, Part Four, The Beginning of the End!
Step One: Roll 3d6! Match each dice up with one of the following results!
1. You get no kills. sad 2. One kill. Not bad! 3-4. two kills, good job! 5. No kills, sorry! 6. Wow, you got three kills! Nice!
Feel free to play as many games as you want!
At the end, tally up how many points you got!
First time doing this quest? Please write a minimum of 200 words for 1 Arcade Token.
Feeling wordy? Go above and beyond the bare minimum for additional tokens! These token bonuses do not stack, so you can't write 100 words to claim 1 token, then add 300 words to claim 2 more tokens. 500 words = 2 Arcade Tokens. 600 words = 3 Arcade Tokens. 700 words = 4 Arcade Tokens. 800 words = 5 Arcade Tokens.
Repeating? Minimum word count jumps up to 300 in order to claim your Arcade Tokens.

Leiah was super excited! She was gonna finally go play some arcade games so she could rank up in the mall society! She browsed the games, taking a careful look at each one before settling on the one that appealed to her the most. She picked up the plastic gun and gave it a token, nearly busting out laughing when she saw the title.: “Undying House The Third, Part Four, The Beginning of the End!? Really?! God what an awful name! But then again, it could be some sort of rip off from the House of the dead franchise…” The screen booted up and some loud announcer yelled:
-UNDYING HOUSE 3!-
She rolled her eyes and readied her plastic gun.
-Shoot to kill! Headshots abound! KILL FOR POINTS!-
Yeah yeah she got it! Get to the good part already!!!!
Leiah squared her shoulders and took a more comfortable stance, shooting the first zombie that came up in the arm, growing and shooting at it some more until it fell dead. She was sorely disappointed because anything other than a headshot yelled no points really. This meant that she would have to try just a couple more times till she finally landed the killing blow. Once again, she squared her shoulders and prepared herself for the next round, jumping for joy when she managed to hit one in the head. This gave her the fuel she needed to keep going, and she screamed when she managed to get another headshot!
At the expense of losing a life but hey! It was soooooo worth it!
Leiah cocked her plastic gun and went for another round, blasting zombies left and right. She was gonna try to go for the high score and beat 888’s, whoever that was. She’d caught a glimpse of the top scores and winced when she saw the top score, wondering how on Earth someone had all the time to even score that high! “probably some one with no life or social skills. Just where did 888’s reside anyway? In sears?” she shuddered at the thought before sighing and reloading her plastic gun, amazed at her 133t hax0r skills when it came to headshots. “Let’s try for one more~”
She let loose another spray of bullets, glad that no one was in the arcade that could hear her shouting quotes from Scarface and Rambo. There was even some Terminator in the mix. By the time she was done, she looked to her score and realized that she was not even close to where 888’s was.
“D-Damn it!”
Now she had to try again.

Leiah was prepared. She had on her war paint, her Rambo bandana, and she had her fake ammo belt she found in one of the discount costume bins. She took her coins and placed them in the machine, ready to get started. She rolled her eyes at the announcer, bouncing on her tip toes to warm up, rolling her shoulders. She was going to try to add onto her score from the last time so she could get that much closer to that number one spot and claim the title this 888's guy held so dear. He was probably some pizza-faced nerd with a Jedi costume, pretending he was obi-wan-Kenobi or something all powerful like that.
God forbid should he try to talk to all of them using the "force" to read their minds or claim that no, these are not the costumes you were looking for. In fact, all the hot women should be wearing the kidnapped princess Leiah costume complete with the long braid and the fat Jabba the hut right beside them...She shuddered at the mental image regardless if she thought she would look good in such a costume or not.
Still, she was so sure that’s what the kid looked like. How else could he score so high on the leader board if he wasn’t some unattractive nerd? "Oh a head shot! Yes!" Leiah's focus returned once more to the systematic shooting and killing of virtual zombies, leaping for joy whenever she scored and screaming at the machine when she didn’t. A couple of mall rats gave her a wide berth as she ranted and raved at the machine. She understood what most of her other friends went through when they played Call of Duty.
Stupid machine.

Leiah was set to try one more time. She squared her shoulders once more and took a stance, cocking her plastic shotgun so she would have a fully loaded gun before she began shooting once more. "Say hello to my little friend!!!!" Instead of focusing on headshots she just went all out for one final hoorah, surprised when she actually started gaining more headshots while doing this over trying to aim and shoot. She should’ve known this method would work better than trying to get better at aiming. Like random button mashing in a fighting game from an inexperienced player, it just made sense in the video game world to reward random over predictable.
Leiah sighed and put the plastic gun down when her last round was over.
She didn’t come out a champion, but she did learn some things at least.
