- Before you can begin the maintenance, you must gather some materials!
- Roll a 5d12 in one post, and match your result to the materials below:

1: You break a couple desks, and now have TWO pieces of wood! (+2 Materials)
2: You find…a bucket? Well, alright. (+1 Material)
3: There are a bunch of backpacks lying around. Three of them. Might as well bring them along. (+3 Materials)
4: You lucky deviant! You found the Janitor's cart. It only has a mop, some cleaning supplies (a bottle of windex, some bleach, and 4 unused garbage bags), and precisely three towels. One of the towels is a grease rag though, at least the other two are clean. (+10 Materials)
5: WILD CARD - You can find ONE item of your choice. It can be anything you think you would find in a university setting. Keep in mind that everyone has had a month to scavenge, so the pickings are slim! (+1 Material)
6: You manage to pry down a dry erase board. It's got to be good for something. (+1 Material)
7: You find a projector. Hurray? (+1 Material)
8: WILD CARD - You can find TWO items of your choice. It can be anything you think you would find in a university setting. Keep in mind that everyone has had a month to scavenge, so the pickings are slim! (+2 Materials)
9: There are a bunch of bells in a box. Three of them. We're not sure why. But there they are. (+3 Materials)
10: You find a bottle of alka-seltzer near a bottle of coke… (+1 Material)
11: WILD CARD - You can find ONE item of your choice. It can be anything you think you would find in a university setting. Keep in mind that everyone has had a month to scavenge, so the pickings are slim! (+1 Material)
12: You find a stack of boring looking books. Three of them. Might as well put them to some use. (+3 Materials)


- Pool your resources. Make a master list of what was found, including how many of them there are. These will be the materials you get to work with as a group!
- Continue on to Step Two.

Step One-Point-Five: Choose post order
- This can be done however you want! You must go in post order for step two.

Step Two - Makeshift Maintenance
- Hurray, you have materials! Now to put them to use.
- Each person in the group rolls a 1d10 in turn, until there are no materials left to use. Pooled materials will be used on a first chosen-first used basis.
- Match your rolls to the problems below, and do your best to fix them using the pooled materials your group rolled earlier! This means you get to be a little creative with how some of the items are used.
- Once a material is used, it can not be used a second time. Once it's used, it's gone!

2: WILD CARD - You find something to fix. What it is, is your choice. (Requires 2 materials to fix)
3: There is a slightly broken window. (Requires 1 material to fix)
4: This window is very broken. (Requires 2 materials to fix)
5: WILD CARD - You find something to fix. What it is, is your choice. (Requires 1 material to fix)
6: Some of the flooring is compromised, and has a foot-shaped hole in it. (Requires 1 material to fix)
7: There is a large hole in the wall. (Requires 2 materials to fix)
8: This floor is a mess. A whole person could fit down there (Requires 4 materials to fix)
9: WILD CARD - You find something to fix. What it is, is your choice. (Requires 1 material to fix)
10: One of the vents is open. It's a large vent. Someone could fit through it, unless you fix it. (Requires 2 material to fix)


- If you don't have enough items to finish the last fix - don't worry about it. Really. As long as all your materials are gone, this quest is considered complete!

Course Credits
- If you and your team mates complete this quest - meaning everyone has completed their dice rolls and has written at least 400 words - you all receive FIVE course credits.
- This is all or nothing - meaning all of you have to meet the criteria to get the credits. If one person doesn't finish this quest/word count, nobody gets it!
- Don't forget to link completed quests and earned credits in your journal!

Anya found herself shuffled off on to building duty.. again. She was a bit upset about it... it wasn't like there was a lot of materials around to fix things with! Not without dismantling other places...
She did manage to find some wood and nails... and another projector. How are these things getting all the way over to the dorms, she wondered as she stacked it ontop of her broken wooden desk tops.

"Well," Caroline huffed, slightly out of breath after lugging around a projector far longer than she should have, "I think we've found...some..."

She stared at the pile, frowned, and stared a little longer.

"...mostly... useful things." Then, after some further considerations, she affectionately patted the dry erase board. "But there is absolutely a terrible hole in my room that needs to be repaired with this. Specifically."

"Can put it there then." She mumbled in response to the ... doctors request to fix a whole in her room with the dry erase board. She wasn't going to argue.. if hte lady wanted to have a dry erase board she could have it. Anya had heard things about this doctor.
Anya glared at another open vent. She remembered filling a lot of these... and yet there was always more. What did the people do here? Crawl through the vents instead of using the hallways? Ugh!

She decided to set up a trap for the next idiot who used the vents to travel instead of the hallway; she balanced a projector on top of the hole... sturdy enough to hold the plastic bag down, but not so sturdy it'd stay when someone entered or exited! She gave a slightly half smile, not moving the broken side of her face at the thought of what would happen to whoever kept making these holes.

The use of the projector to set a (potentially painful) trap delighted Caroline, especially as she witnessed the amount of consideration put into the mechanics of it. She clapped her hands together once and gave a short little laugh.

"Wonderful," she offered in praise, before setting herself to the task of mending another nearby hole. This was best solved by stuffing cushions into it, she decided - it looked a bit like a hole created by some sort of impact, after all.

Anya eyed the pillowed wall. Guess it'd work? Though she'd have stolen the cushions as pillows herself! Shrugging she eyed the hole near the doorway. Another potential trap. She smirked but dropped it quickly as it jogged the painful break in her jaw bone.

Laying out the last of the plastic bags, she took some of the nails and nailed them down. Now people would fall in! And make noise.. Hopefully non infected would be smart enough to avoid it so only infected were trapped.. but if not then it'd be amusing if nothing else!

The idea of the trap had been so absolutely fantastic that Caroline had to put it to use when they came upon another recklessly open vent. In the absence of the bags, she used one of the thinner towels, figuring that it would work just as well.

Anya felt slightly more cheerful right now then she had since the infected hit... she was actually having fun. It was slightly cruel fun making traps.... but still!

This hallway was going to be so booby trapped it'd be awesome! She almost didn't mind the next vent being ripped open and large enough to fit another person in.. almost. It still pissed her off that people were using vents as roads so she trapped it with a backpack weighed down by a bleach bottle! She wished she had time to go find nice sized bricks to fill it with but the full windex bottle would have to suffice. She could have done worse, she could have put a towel filled with nails instead.

This was becoming quite fun for Caroline as well, who appreciated the energy that Anya exuded when she worked so diligently on her traps. Unfortunately, the window was a bit straightforward - there was a perfectly-sized bit of wood, which only required her to wedge it into the missing portion.

While Caroline boarded up one window, Anya did the next one. This would be harder to trap so she simple covered it up.

If she were being sensible, the dry erase board would have been the best option for covering the hole they came upon. It was large and legitimately dangerous.

But Caroline struggled with being sensible, so she covered it in two nailed-down towels.

Anya was amused that the idea she'd had... Caroline had also had. Nails in a towel to really hurt someone coming in! We better warn the other people in this builiding that this hall is not safe.

Using a shard of glass near a broken window, she cut up a backpack so it was larger and flatter, better to cover the window.

There was no good way to do this.

After examining their remaining supplies, Caroline opted for the unsubtle route and crammed the dry erase board and backpack into the vent, presumably with the intent to get them later. If she didn't, it still worked surprisingly well.

While Caroline used the last pack and board to fix yet another vent, Anya set about cleaning... seriously cleaning. THe section of floor leading up to the evil nailed towel pit was sparkly clean....... and super slippery by the time she used all the windex. With and inner grin she backed up carefully and looked at their innocent looking hall of traps.

This would be amusing! Maybe she wouldn't warn anyone....
