Congo Basin
Danger Level: 2
Much like the Amazon Outpost, the Congo Basin is a small camp that was built by the baiters who wished to explore what the African Rainforest had to offer. The basin is located in the edge of the rainforest, and it, too, is carved directly into the trees that make the forest what it is. Unlike the Amazon, however, there are no reports of tribes still living in and among the trees. This, however, is unreliable, due to the fact that the Congo Basin is notorious for missing people, and nobody has been able to map a large section of the forest without dire consequence. Due to Africa's enormous mining industry, there were countless plants that were erected to refine the extremely rare material that they had found. The Hexanium. Large deposits of this metal were found beneath the Congo Basin as well, but when the miners attempted to create a station within he trees, they fell one by one.
The Congo Basin is the most unexplored section of land in the world, and even the higher ranking officers are uneasy when it comes to travelling too deep into the jungle. There are lights that can often be seen floating over the treetops at night, though they are brief and bright like flares and unrecognizable to the human eye. Many baiters have been tasked with solving this problem, but even those who make it back from the rainforest alive do not report anything. The files are deemed confidential, and to this day are buried.
