God willing, maybe the infirmary--medical ward--medbay, whatever, would eventually get its s**t together. Was it really that big? one would think they'd have had some stuff already organized by the time Adelaide got there. But then again, maybe she shouldn't' complain when she was still just the equivalent of a runner or a page. Whatever. Let an old woman gripe on the job.
Let an old woman DEFINITELY gripe on the job, because once again she was asked to locate thermometers. Again! Really? Did they doubt her from the last time she had taken an age to do the job?

Growling a sigh, Adelaide turned from the doctor on duty and went about sniffing for some butt tubes. Or mouth tubes. Thankfully never both. She still hoped nobody discovered her broken one from last time...But everyone was so busy with their own jobs, she was sure she was in the clear. But seriously, how many more hidden thermometers could an old woman get around here?
After hoofing it for a while, Adelaide decided to just bribe someone into helping her. Screw this, she could be using her hands for something more important. Like groping! Or holding. Or hugging. Christ, a hug would be nice; she missed her sons more and more.

Eventually she managed to get several thermometers--and this time she didn't even break them! Huzzah! But what was she going to get around the place for doing her job anyway; did cred really come from just being someone else's blood hound? Meh. She missed her old job, where she got to tutor kids in the finer points of the English language. Adelaide also missed making her fanfiction as well, but that was beside the point.
She returned to the supply closet, glaring at it like it was an old rival. (And it really was.) "hold goddamn still," she growled at the thing as she sorted things back out.
