CLEARVIEW MAID SERVICE Early on, cleanup was of the utmost importance. There were undying intruders to be dealt with, former residents to bury, and chaos to bring under control through cleanliness.
These days, most of the messes that need to be dealt with are the everyday sort. Food spills, bathroom... mishaps, and general dust are the first things people lose interest in cleaning up, which makes them vital to keep on top of. If you've decided to take on some cleaning duties or have been assigned to do so, here's how you'll accomplish that.
Step One - Which Floor?
Generate a random number between 1 and 22. This is the floor that the apartment you'll be cleaning is on. You may choose which specific apartment to clean OOCly. As stated in the rules, there are nine apartments on each floor. They are numbered in multiples of 10, preceded by the number of the floor they're on. (i.e. 110, 120, 130 ... 2170, 2180, 2190.) The entirety of the 22nd floor is the penthouse.
If you're in a group, only one person has to roll for the floor you're on.
Step Two - Clean!
Roll 1d4. The higher the number, the dirtier the apartment. After you roll, you must make one additional RP post for each "degree of filth" in order to clean it. (Roll a 3, make three more RP posts, etc.) When you've made these posts, you're done! The space is clean.
If you're in a group, each member must roll for their own degree of filth.

The walk up to the 20th floor was no joke; Mel was fit but still winded by the time she cleared the stairs, and her face was the tell-tale red of flushing from exercise. People said she looked cute when she blushed, but it was hard for her to imagine. She hated the feeling of it, so she always tried not to. Not that her efforts did her any good. It was a bodily reaction that she seriously hated and wished she had more control over, but even if her face didn't flush her ears did so it was still a dead giveaway. With a huff and a puff (or two) she wandered through the halls of the 20th floor, looking for the next apartment to fall victim to her cleaning materials.

The one she found was no laughing matter. It looked uninhabited so there was plenty of dust and grim and mold and all manner of disgusting growths and sights all over the place. Maybe that was why no one had bothered to touch it. With a sigh she got to work, going about it the way she normally did when she tackled the big jobs. Organize and dust, clean like a madwoman, then reorganize. It worked well for her, though some, particularly her mother, questioned its effectiveness.
"Well, mom," she started to mutter, "We're in an apocalypse so it doesn't have to be 100% clean, alright?"

She'd managed to get the bedroom cleaned up first so she could stash all of the smaller items in there once she finished dusting them. She took the sheets out to air dry--something had leaked and it smelled disgusting, so she had to do something about it. Even if the stink come completely off at it least it wouldn't keep the room totally uninhabitable. The more she got past the first layer of filth the more she started to understand why no one had picked this room; it was on a very high floor and it was gross, plain and simple. Still, she worked through it, passing the first couple of hours by tackling the dusting aspect of cleaning.
Mel managed to get most of the stuff into the bedroom, and once she had it all in there she closed the door and took a deep breath--which was a mistake, so she spent a moment hacking out a lung before she could get started on the heavy duty work.

The kitchen and bathroom came next, with the living room tailing the list since it wasn't so bad once she got the stuff organized and in the bedroom.
The bathroom was all kinds of nasty, with every kind of bathroom gunk building up just about everywhere. She had to put on a mask she had stashed away for such a purpose while she cleaned it up to the best of her abilities. Without all the right cleaning supplies though she was limited with what she could do, but still she made it work. It wasn't bright nor shiny when she was done but it was cleaner, which was the whole point. The kitchen came next and her biggest issue were the dead bodies of pests, and live roaches in one of the cabinets that actually scared her out of the apartment for a while.
"Dang things..." she said while working on catching her breath outside. The fresh air was nice for a while, but when she felt just a touch better she headed back inside to finish the job. The sink was the biggest disaster; it was clogged something fierce so she had to call in some reinforcements in the form of a bottle of Drain-O that she found stashed away in one of the cabinets. It was a relief too, else she probably would have had to leave it and the apartment would remain uninhabited. But she got it cleaned up and usable, thankfully, before moving on to do the final touches in the living room.
It took maybe another couple of hours before she was satisfied with her work...

"Finally..." she sighed as she re-opened the bedroom door to start moving all the things back in their proper places.
It was more moving and dusting for the last hour, but in the end she managed to get the place relatively clean and habitable. She retrieved the sheets and fixed the bedroom last, and once she was done she did a cursory walk-around inside the space before going to the door. There was a bag of trash there that she'd collected earlier on, and after one last glance back she smiled and left the place, leaving a note on the front door.
