Was this really any different than living in a mall for a month? Vera stopped caring after week two, really. She still felt pretty exhausted as she made her way into the store, and it was even harder now that she had to stuff an arm into her bag. How was she supposed to carry supplies?
Only one way to find out, she supposed.
5. Your character notices a strange room. It seems to be locked.
1. Your character finds a stapler. It doesn't seem very useful. It is still attached to an arm, that has long begun it's final stages of decay. Attached to the bracelet of the arm is a name. "R O R...." the rest is missing.

The first door she tried was locked. Weird..why would it be locked? "Hello?" She called out, trying the knob again. "Hello? Is anyone in there?" No reply.. "I'm a friend," I hope, "I won't hurt you..?" She waited, and waited, and waited some more.
Finally she took out the knife again and tried to fit it through the door jamb where the lock was. No luck. "Well, if you feel like coming out..I'll be looking around..."
All she needed was for someone to not even be in there and for someone else to see her talking to a door that probably led to an empty room. She felt like an idiot, she'd even admit to it if asked.
Taking a minute to catch her breath after talking so much, Vera turned to continue on her way through the store.

Oh! A box. Boxes were promising.
Vera nudged it open with her knife and then carefully dipped part of it in juuuuust in case. Nothing happened. Good. With a smile she took the knife out and set it down to begin digging through the box now that she had confirmed there was nothing horrific or alive inside. "Let's see..oh, neat. This person bought like six cabinets. Look at you, rolling in dough," she chuckled quietly to herself.
That was it though. Receipts. Nothing but receipts. They were all like that, every single one of them. "Damnit.."

She managed to startle herself when she kicked something hard. Vera squeaked, her knife coming up defensively until she looked down and saw--oh god. It was an arm. Gross. GROSS. And she kicked it! Auuuugh!
She nudged it again, feeling like she was going to vomit when she realized nothing was attached to it. But..it did have a stapler.
A supply was a supply, right? They could..use that for something? She might as well take it so she didn't go back to the bandit empty-handed. Who knew what he would do to her for failing. And so she slowly, slowly got down on her knees to pry the stapler from the rotting hand. The bracelet did catch her attention. Curious..was it that person's name, maybe? Vera slowly got back on her feet then, wandering off with her new stapler.

More boxes, this time stacked in front of a door as if to be a blockade. Well! If boxes were a blockade item then they must have something heavy inside! With surprising excitement Vera flipped one open.
...Receipts.
Seriously?
Another box. Receipts.
Receipts. Receipts. All of them. Receipts.
Ugh. "I give up," she muttered, turning to leave.

"So I never want to see another receipt for as long as I live," Vera complained as she handed the stapler to the bandit. "Unfortunately this was all I could find. But there's a door in there I couldn't open, might wanna check it out later.."
