It had been one rather eventful afternoon this time. Adelaide didn’t think she’d get away with an encounter with an undying without having to fight it, let alone while hosting as a seeing eye dog for one of the blind prison inmates. And now here she was one more, the medbay quickly becoming her second home…ish…sort of…If only her whole arm would stop throbbing.
Adelaide didn’t blink an eye when she was told to go find bedpans. At this point, at least it was still credit towards rising in the ranks. But man, she wished the three she found didn’t still have the lingering smell of urine…

Yeesh, what poor suckers needed bedpans? It reminded her of the catheters from before: if you were at the stage where you needed assisted living then, hell, maybe someone needed to consider just offing you to keep supplies up a little longer. Though she supposed that was rich, coming from someone just beyond fifty years old. She didn’t act fifty, though! Certainly not like her body was a huge toll on her fiery spirit or anything, gimp arm or not.
It made transporting items harder, though. Adelaide struggled to place bedpans as necessary, nose wrinkled at the sterile smell mixing with the faint whiff of something foul.

She didn’t realize how draining it would be to do all of that with just one arm. Maybe it had been easy to ignore it the first time because her body had still been in shock with everything going on all at once like that. But there was a strain obvious in the older woman’s body as she knelt down and crouched and leaned and did everything she could to put the closet back into a semblance of order once again. Her fingers were trembling form the exertion; she hoped nobody was watching.
Adelaide consigned herself to the showers soon after, eager to get the odd smell off her whole body.
