CLEARVIEW MAID SERVICE Early on, cleanup was of the utmost importance. There were undying intruders to be dealt with, former residents to bury, and chaos to bring under control through cleanliness.
These days, most of the messes that need to be dealt with are the everyday sort. Food spills, bathroom... mishaps, and general dust are the first things people lose interest in cleaning up, which makes them vital to keep on top of. If you've decided to take on some cleaning duties or have been assigned to do so, here's how you'll accomplish that.
Step One - Which Floor?
Generate a random number between 1 and 22. This is the floor that the apartment you'll be cleaning is on. You may choose which specific apartment to clean OOCly. As stated in the rules, there are nine apartments on each floor. They are numbered in multiples of 10, preceded by the number of the floor they're on. (i.e. 110, 120, 130 ... 2170, 2180, 2190.) The entirety of the 22nd floor is the penthouse.
If you're in a group, only one person has to roll for the floor you're on.
Step Two - Clean!
Roll 1d4. The higher the number, the dirtier the apartment. After you roll, you must make one additional RP post for each "degree of filth" in order to clean it. (Roll a 3, make three more RP posts, etc.) When you've made these posts, you're done! The space is clean.
If you're in a group, each member must roll for their own degree of filth.
If you complete this quest and write over 200 words, Zelda will reward you with two cocktail umbrellas the next time she sees you! Please claim them in this thread using the faction quest point claim form locatedhere.

Mel had called in reinforcements to help her decide which floor she wanted to clean today: the guards at the front entrance, because they looked remarkably bored since no one was at the door. So with a smile she'd gone off and asked them to pick which floor to clean for her!
"Pick a floor, any floor!" she said as energetically as ever. While cleaning was not her favorite of chores, at least it was something to do. The first guard then replied by saying, "Guess which number I'm thinking." Challenge accepted, naturally.
"Five?"
"Nope."
She squinted. "Twenty-two?"
"Nuh-uh."
"Just te~ll meee!"
He only smirked. "Third, you doofus. Go clean my apartment."
She narrowed her eyes at him and stomped off, not really in the mood to be particularly clean and diligent about her work anymore. She heard him holler his apartment number, but she promptly ignored it. She'd clean a whole other room, thanks very much.

She blinked at the apartment that he had directed her to, apartment 308 and it. Was. Disgusting. There was dust on basically everything except the mattress and one of the chairs and a part of the table, if that made sense at all; grime had started gunking up the sink from what she could see, and it was so messy she nearly just left right then and there.
But no. She knew it was a duty they all shared, so she got to business.

She started first by organizing and dusting everything she came across.
She gathered all the paper materials--books, old magazines, loose leaf paper, folders, whatever else that was made up of sheets of paper that she could find--in one stack, bedroom things in one pile, kitchen supplies in another, etc. Once that was done it didn't look quite so...daunting. Not really, anyway. She tackled the bathroom next, because it was just...gross. Definitely a guy's bathroom if she had to make a judgement call on it.

After she finished organizing things she tackled the bathroom next, because it was just...gross. Definitely a guy's bathroom if she had to make a judgement call on it. She did her best though, and when it was adequate she moved on the kitchen and scrubbed down the counters and the sink. She even ventured into the cupboards and such to make sure and get whatever other trash and toss it away with the rest of the junk she deemed...well, trash.

The bedroom was last because it was the least...traumatizing. It just needed a light dusting and she was all done with it!
Mel gathered up the trash and put it by the door before going back to replacing all of the books and other possessions that were in the apartment. It wasn't much but she could tell he made the best of it. They all did, really, and she couldn't really fault him for it. Once everything was finally back in its place she headed for the door and looked back one last time to admire her work.
It was kind of...shoddy...at best, but at least it was better than earlier. With the trash in hand she left the room to go and possible be productive elsewhere.
Or maybe to the lounge for a well-deserved nap. Oooh, nap...
