It's your job as an underling to go out and find the supplies that the prison faction members need to survive. This is exactly as dangerous as it sounds. Good luck.
Step One:Finding Water The streets are an absolute wreckage heap of abandoned cars, rotting bodies, and horrid smells. You need to find a building that might have what you're looking for (in this case, bottled water), and fast - your presence has already attracted some attention.
-Roll as many d10 as you dare. You must reach 10 water to proceed, but the more you roll, the more likely you'll find company. If you don't reach 10 water, you can continue to roll until you do. Match your results below.
1. You've found a hardware store. It looks picked clean. (0 water) 2. You've found a small grocery store. The shelves are empty, but if you look in the back store room.. (2 water) 3. You've found a major convenience store. The motherload! (5 water) 4. You've entered the first building you could find, a house. The bedroom still contains what remains of the inhabitants, don't go in there The broken fridge, while filled with rotting food, has a supply of untouched bottled water in the back. (2 water) 5. There's a gas station on the corner. Surely there's at least something left.. (3 water) 6. You enter a toy store. This definitely doesn't - wait, did you check the staff room fridge? (1 water) 7. You've found what was probably once a restaurant, but the sign's long been destroyed. Still, there's a stock room.. (1 water) 8. A giant building turns out to be what was once a wholesale food store. It had food in bulk.. jackpot. (5 water) 9. You enter a pet store. It looks hopeless, until you notice that the sign in the grooming section that claims they give the pets Evian.. thank goodness for pretentious pet stores. (2 water) 10. You enter a computer store. Every single device is broken - and there's no water in sight. (0 water)
Remember, you must obtain 10 water to continue. Step one has a minimum word count of 300 words, that can be spread out between any posts done for step one.
Step Two: You've Been Noticed Step two is only required if you rolled one of the following numbers at any time during step one: 3, 5, or 8. If you did not roll one of these numbers, you may continue to step three without action. If you did roll one of these numbers, you attracted attention.
Something shambles closer. It was waiting, having holed up here where others have looked. Perhaps this was why you found so much; it was just too easy. Too obvious. And now, too late to run.
-To continue, you must disable the infected coming towards you. It has 5HP and is not fast enough to attack you as long as you keep attacking it. You may use your current dice based on your weapon (starting weapons are 2d6-6) and attack until it reaches 0HP. This does not kill it, it only disables it enough for you to get away. Run.
Step Three:Heading back It sure is hard to run with supplies, isn't it?
-Roll 1d10. 1-3: You drop the water you've found but make it back alive. That counts for something, doesn't it? (Fail) 4-6: You drop half of the water you've found, but you get back with 5 bottles. Every bit counts. (Pass) 7-10: You make it back alive, unhurt, with all your water intact. Well done! (Pass)
Rewards: If you successfully pass all three steps, you are awarded an extra 5 bars. (Step two is passed whether you find a zombie, or beat a zombie. There is no fail!) You also receive 25% Supply Cred. If you failed at step three, you only receive 3 bars, and 10% Supply Cred. Please keep track of your Cred in your journal! You will need it in order to complete Officer level quests!
Joy Ann gingerly picked her way through the wreckage of the outside world, keeping an eye out for infected and undying as she went. Today had been a hell of a day, and although she wanted nothing more than to go to her cell and sleep off the pain of her jaw, she knew the faction needed more water. She turned off her handheld radio, and proceeded with caution into an abandoned building.
Huh, it was a toy store? Well, they probably wouldn't have any bottled water here... But there didn't seem to be any undying here either. Maybe if there was a staff room. Aha! Score! One bottle for her bag, but unfortunately no more. She headed back to the street, actively not paying attention to what she was stepping on in favor of paying attention to where she was stepping. Wouldn't do to lose her footing now.

Joy Ann's eyes fell on a gas station on the corner, which would surely have something left... And it did! Just as she finished putting the third water bottle in her bag, she heard the sound of something shambling towards her. An infected!!
Resisting the urge to scream, mainly because she knew how much that would hurt her jaw, she grabbed the nearest item, which happened to be a long-handled snow brush, and whacked away at the infected, knowing not to kill it, but hoping she could move it to the side to get back to the door and out onto the street.

Joy Ann kept flailing away with the snow brush, determined to make it out alive. Luckily the infected didn't seem like it was truly trying to hurt her, which just more or less confirmed the information she'd heard earlier at the radio tower. Maybe it just wanted help?

Ugh! She just... Joy Ann again wanted to scream, this time with frustration, as she tried to move right and the infected moved to block her. Was this snow brush not threatening enough?! Did it really want to be whacked upside the head some more, because she was certainly going to keep swinging!

Okay, maybe she shouldn't be treating it like it was a pinata, but she really, really, really didn't want to stay in this gas station overnight, and she knew that wasted time was not something she was ever going to get back.
Joy Ann tried to dodge to the left while swinging at the infected's side, even though going left would take her the long way around to the door. Why had she thought the tiny gas station was a good idea to go into in the first place?

Thankfully the dodge left worked, and she finally escaped. She picked up her speed outside of the gas station, carefully jogging over to the nearest larger building. She didn't want to get trapped inside a small space again, and this place looked big enough to be a former restaurant. In fact, she thought she may have eaten there once... But she wasn't going to think about that now.
Instead, she made her way to the supply room, bagged another bottle of water, and made her way out back out to the street. No sense in sticking around when there was nothing else to gather. She looked up and down the street, both ways, and then picked her way across into another building. To enter, or not to enter..?

The building actually seemed to be another toy store, which meant it was a simple flit in, find the break room, bag the water bottle, and flit back out. Joy Ann hesitantly felt like she was almost getting the hang of this. At least she had a general idea of where to look for the water now. Hmm... Which building on the street should she check next?

Ooh, that looked like an old, abandoned grocery store... And after entering the door, it still looked old and abandoned. Joy Ann padded through the empty shelves, eyeing a door that led to the back of the shop. It seemed like a fifty-fifty chance of finding water or running into another infected back there, and the water was important so...
Joy Ann entered the back of the shop, her eyes scanning the room for water as well as infected. Score! No infected, two bottles of water. She bagged those as well and headed to the next building.

Wow! A major convenience store, and it still looked stocked! Joy Ann peered in through the window, decided there didn't seem to be any infected or undying enjoying its lovely, slightly-stale looking wares, and then headed in. One water bottle, two water bottles... She finished putting the fifth water bottle into her bag, figuring that was about all she could carry easily, when she heard another shuffle. No, no, no, no, no! She had checked! Where had this one come from!?
Joy Ann swung her pack full of bottles at the infected, oomphing as it moved through the air. Ow, that had really stretched her shoulders in a weird way, though it was definitely a better way of attacking the other instead using her bare hands. She really didn't want to touch it.

Joy Ann backed away from it, trying to keep herself between it and the door so she could make a run for it back to the street. She swung her bag of bottles at it again as it lunged for her. Now! Joy Ann turn and ran, forgetting that her backpack was still open as she picked her way down the street as fast as she could. Whether it was adrenaline or water bottles falling out of her backpack as she darted between obstacles, she felt increasing lighter as she got closer and closer to the prison's entrance.

Apparently it was a mix of adrenaline and a lightening load, as she realized after she was within the safety of the prison once again. Joy Ann bent over with her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath without moving her jaw too much. That had been harder than she expected, but still, not too bad. At least their stores would have more water now, and maybe another faction member out on duty would be able to pick up the bottles she had dropped. Every little bit helped!
