Painite was standing on a roof not too far from the library, able to see it rising up against the evening horizon. Its lights were still on, meaning it was still open and there were people plugging away at homework and the like inside. She felt the aura of another chaotic force nearby, closer to the library, but it was not the one she was looking for.
For now, she ignored it.
She had summoned her newest minion to meet her here, so she could show Cavansite the library, and tell her all about the family she so loved to make miserable. Camelot and Co were her toys, and it was only right to share them with her Lieutenant.
Really, it was just an excuse to be near the other woman. For whatever reason, Painite felt like she was addicted to just being near her, and did not really care if they got much done that evening. This was something new, something she did not really understand, and she was still learning in her own right.
It was probably going to be hard to focus.

Cavansite brought doughnuts. There was no reason to not have brought doughnuts…finding out about the family who hurt Painite was an important thing but it was always made more better when doughnuts were involved…so this…uh. Doughnut date was going to be fantastic.
“I’m here! Painite, your favorite little minion is here! And I brought something tasty to snack on while you tell me stories of this awful family who causes you so much grief!”
Her face was bright with excitement and she plopped down next to Painite, holding out the box of doughnuts, already taking a bite out of a chocolate covered cream filled one.
Yum.

Painite turned when she heard Cavansite, a smile immediately lighting up her features. It was such an honest look of happiness, though she did not notice any difference in it from her usual smiles. It was not something she was likely to notice right away, anyway.
She had no idea.
"Oh, you brought donuts! If you weren't my favorite before, you're certainly getting there now, my little pet."
She chuckled and moved to give Cavansite a quick hug in welcome, taking a donut for herself and taking a bite before waving toward the library.
"That," she said, once she was done swallowing the first half of her food, "is the library. I'm sure you know it from... living here. But that place is the worst for any Negaverse soldier to patrol near: that is where Camelot has set up his little castle. He stands on the top of that building like a bloody beacon, and dares anyone to come into his territory with that audacious power of his. But of course, no one would dare, with his grandeur and all that shiny, shiny armor."
Every word was tipped with acid. Painite hated a lot of people, but none so much as Camelot.

Cavansite couldn’t deny the rush of pleasure she got when Painite told her she was becoming her favorite. That was one of the little things that she loved to hear…and she got a hug. This night couldn’t get any more perfect, that was for darn sure.
She looked out at the library, nodding. “I’ve been there a few times, yeah…that’s a bad place to patrol because of this…Camelot? He’s the one who keeps hurting you, right? The one with that family or whatever? The one that we have to make miserable because he’s such a jerk. Or something…”
The Lieutenant minion grabbed another doughnut and shoved it into her mouth, hesitating before reaching out and rubbing Painite’s back. “You know stress isn’t good for blood pressure, so…together I know we can beat this guy. I just have to get a little more powerful…er. And then you and I can storm the castle and get your revenge.”
Because that was how things worked. Clearly.

"Him and his family. They're... expansive, at this point. There is him, his wife, his son and now his son's traitor girlfriend. If there are more, I don't know about them yet, but I wouldn't be surprised."
She had not yet met Hadaya personally, though that would probably happen in time. Thankfully, he was rarely without one of his protectors, as he would likely be in a lot of danger if he came across the General on his own.
And she found out who he belonged to.
She was caught up in her angry glaring at the library until she felt a gentle hand on her back. It caused her to jump a bit, as if unused to contact, and she looked at Cavansite for a moment before relaxing a bit and offering her a grin she did not really mean. It was harder to hide her emotions around her minion, she was finding.
"That sounds like a good plan, my dear. And I'm going to help you become strong. Stronger than anything the Negaverse has seen yet. I see so much potential in you. But... I think I might be getting a bit bias."

“Oh gosh. That’s gross…”
Far too many members of order, far too many disgusting goody goodies. She didn’t like the sound of them and she didn’t like the idea of a bunch of people in a family who were all just…yuck. “That really disgusts me, you know that? We have to take them out, we really do…so teach me okay? I’m excited to bring this whole family to their knees…”
Cavansite just wanted to start dancing at the praise that Painite was giving…this was just so perfect and she loved it…and it was just…
Everything was just going so well and she was really wanting to make it go even more…well.
Being around Painite kind of made her stupid. She was like a lovesick little high school girl again…and she really didn’t care one bit. “You can be as biased as you want. I feel kind of biased about you. I’ll defend you from anything and fix all of your wounds and do whatever I can to make you safe and happy, Painite. I promise. I won’t ever let you down.”

"I tend to think you'll make good on these promises, you know. A lot of people, I find, say things they cannot actually do. I see potential in them, and they are nothing but failures and disappointments. You, though, I think I want to trust. It's very odd for me."
She smiled and shifted a bit closer, putting her hand gently on Cavansite's cheek, running the back of her fingers down her soft skin affectionately. She looked seriously at the other's face for a moment, as if trying to read something in her eyes, then offered a passive smile.
"Alright, I think it's also important for me to learn about you," she said brightly, sitting back and taking another donut. She regarded the Lieutenant with a coy look now, tilting her head to the side.
"What sort of things do you like, hm? To do, to see. You know. When you're pretending to be normal." Not that she spent much time as a civilian these days, unless she had to.

Cavansite thought there was going to be a kiss. She could almost feel it coming…first with the fingers caressing her cheek and the way that Painite was gazing into her eyes…she thought for sure there was going to be a kiss coming with all of this affection…
But then there wasn’t. Damn.
“Well…In my daytime life, I’m a teacher. I teach over at Crystal Academy, English for the ninth and twelfth grade rich girls…they’re not so terribly awful, but I guess now that I have this secret night life…I’ve been keeping my eye on a few of them…just in case I think they might be useful for our…cause. Because there is nothing better than a spoiled rich girl who can help out the Negaverse, am I right? I mean…I don’t know.”
It had seemed like a good thing to say when she started to say it, but by the time Cavansite had gotten to the end of her ‘my job is this’ speech, she was starting to just regret most of what she had said.
“I love sushi too, that’s something interesting about me…so if you ever wanted to join me in getting some, I’d be honored.”
Great. Now she was asking her on a date. Smooth. Very smooth.
She was lucky if she didn’t end up pushed off of this building in the next five minutes. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise her much if that turned out to be the case.

Painite laughed, shaking her head.
"If you see someone who might be useful to us, a student or perhaps another coworker, then let me know. I'll corrupt them and we'll see if they're worthy, hm? But I'm very picky, and I don't want to create more of the usual soldiers the Negaverse is already over full of."
No, she wanted her own army. She wanted more power for herself, and her own causes. She fought with the basic principles of the Negaverse, but for the most part, she had set herself apart from it. No one was trustworthy any more, with so many traitors and fair weather friends.
It was a better idea to make her own army, and start fresh.
Painite did not push her minion off the roof, even if that was what Cavansite thought was coming. Instead, she hooked her arm with the other and cuddled with her affectionately, forgetting about revenge and training for tonight.
