Time passed and it didn't take Sunny long to realize this was her new home and the faction was her new family. The fact of the matter is Sunny has no idea what has become of her old home. Perhaps it's still there and when this all blows over, she could return. Until then, this was it and with that, she was determined to make the best of it.
Picking a place wasn't too difficult. Sunny found herself quite attached to Teavana on the terms that it was expected to be one of the best smelling places in the mall. It was safer too, so that was a bonus. She just hoped no one else was already squatting there and if so they could just share. Be best buds. Maybe make a friend. Someone to rely on!
The store definitely looked like it had been visited by someone, or a lot of someones. Few tins of tea still sat on the wall, others and their contents were strewn on the floor. The fruity ones were actually odd smelling and starting to go bad in the open air. Whoever had been here certainly wasn't there anymore though. Sunny pushed some the tea leaves on the floor around with her feet.
"This'll do," she said, even if temporarily. "You just need a lot of love." She looked around the store at the shelves. A lot of broken glass was on the floor as well. She'd have to be careful.

Avoiding taking care of the broken mugs at the front of the store's shelves, Sunny decided to set-up behind the main counter. "First I'll have to clean this mess up..." She eyed the tins and old tea leaves scattered on the floor.
Sunny started with the tins first and got them out of the way. She didn't much care where they belonged and just shoved them in empty places on the shelf behind the counter. Lid or no lid, they were going in a cubby and lids without tins just accompanied other cubbies with space.
Next she crouched and pushed all the tea leaves somewhere else. She didn't much care where and just shooed them all into the small kitchen in the back. "There we go!" The floor was 'cleaned.' Meaning everything was just somewhere else and the occasional individual tea bits stayed where they were.
"This is where I'll sleep, I suppose.." She stared at the bare floor. "Though I'll need something to sleep on."
Sunny poked her head outside the store front and looked up and down the halls. There wasn't much worth using since everything else was mostly taken. Just trash scattered everywhere. However, at the front of an adjacent store was a wide sales banner.
She wasn't one for really being happy or sad about her own height, but Sunny couldn't help being thankful for the height she was at that point. Going over to investigate, Sunny reached up and tried to grab it. It wasn't until she crouched and sprung up a few times before she got a good grip on it and it yanked it down. "Got ya!"
Returning to Teavana, she laid the banner down and folded it over itself once. "Well.." Sunny looked at it then laid on it, giving it a try. She stared at the ceiling and rolled over a few times. "It's.. a little comfortable?" A tad better than just laying on the floor. "It'll do. This is home," she told herself.

Just as she was coming to terms with her makeshift bed, shuffling papers should be heard from outside. Sunny shot up and looked at the store front from behind the counter, but didn't see anything.
Heart racing, Sunny tiptoed to the entrance and peeked outside. "Please, please.." she whispered to herself. "Don't let it be anything."
She spotted the source. Trash and papers literally rustling, yet Sunny didn't spot anything making it. Infected, now ghosts? she thought. Moments after, a rat scuttled out.
Sunny let out a sigh of relief and sat in the entrance. "Just a rat..." If there had been anything or anyone else, it'd have an easy time coming her way. Perhaps it was time to do something about that while she was at it.
Taking two of the display islands, Sunny pushed them together in front of the entrance. It wasn't much, but at least you'd have to climb over them to get in. She left the miscellaneous bits of brewing tools and broken cups on the tops of them too. If there was an attempt to get it, maybe she'd hear it. Whether that was a well thought out choice or a lazy decision is another matter.

Taking in a job well done, Sunny's celebrating was cut short. She heard another sound. This time, footsteps in the hall.
Not good.
Footsteps were much more urgent than the prior noise. Sunny scurried behind the front counter again and sat on the floor, not even daring to start peeking. Waiting, she hugged her knees and listened nervously.

Sam "Booty" Lute silently walked down a familiar hallway on her usual route for scavenging. Most of all the stores were in the same shape she had seen them last, producing nothing significant.
It wasn't until she came across the Teavana that day that she had seen anything significantly new. "What do we have here?" She asked herself, interested in the change of face for the store.
"Let's take a closer look." The scavenging member walked over and pushed against the displays blocking the entrance, though they didn't budge much. A split between the display counters opened slightly, but Booty couldn't get through on account of her hips. This earned a frown behind her oh so terrifying Shrek mask."Damn it, fine."
Look for alternatives, she just began to climb on top of the display counters. Her hand landed right on top of a shard of broken mug, delivering a nasty gash. "Ow god damn it!" The girl grunted and flinched back. It wasn't worth the trouble. "Probably just s**t in there anyway. Now I can't even go look through IKEA today!" She left to tend to the wound.

Sunny heard the footsteps disappear down the hall and sighed with relief.
It was a person at least. As long as it wasn't an infected, she was fine.
It sounded like they got hurt too.. I hope they're ok.
Carefully, she peeked around the corner and made sure it was safe to come out. The barricade held so it was a job well done.
The person had mentioned an IKEA store. Something to spruce the place up would be good, she thought. Sunny made sure to avoid the bigger shards and climbed over her barricade counter very carefully.
Checking a mall map stand, she located IKEA and entered the store.

Sunny wandered through run down living room displays, kitchens, and bedrooms looking at mostly broken furniture and wondering what would be easy and useful for her new home.
Stopping at a bedroom, she looked at a decent desk. "Okay.. this would be nice. Not too big, a table and a drawer, and easily assembled..." She tried to drag it before realizing it's rather impossible to maneuver with through all these displays.
"Wait, where am I?.."
Sunny walked through several more bedroom displays. "Oh, I'm lost."

Sunny wandered until she ended up in a bathroom display. "Better, but no what I wanted.. It's gotta be close!"
She took another direction.

From bathrooms to kitchens. Maybe if she hugged the left walls she'd make it out eventually.

Sunny was starting to really worry now. Is this going to be her new home? Did she set-up in Teavana for nothing? How will she get out??
"H-hello?" she cried out softly. "Maybe someone can help me?.. Eeeh?.."
There's gotta be a way outta here.

Sunny didn't make it out, but she found the storage of assembling furniture boxes.
"I'll take this." She said, moving around trash grabbing a box with a desk picture on it.
Slowly, she dragged it out onto the main floor and tried to find the exit.
It was gonna be a long day.

Eventually she made it out and dragged the box back to Teavana.
She couldn't lug it over the barricade so she dissembled the barricade and then re-assembled it and made it through.
The rest of her time was spent putting together the box. More trouble than it's worth really, she thought, but at least I have something else to call my own. The home was coming together.
