(10 water Bottles Found, ENCOUNTER IMMANENT)
Well, Shaun figured, he was outside anyway, so he might as well look for the ever-precious water bottles. And why not? He was good at finding things and climbing all over crappy dilapidated buildings and stuff. And maybe he could find some icepacks for his eye – it was really starting to hurt.
He found himself in a big megamart, a little bit of everything in one. How it had not been completely torn apart yet by looters? He had no idea, he wasn't sure he wanted to know, considering he was alone, but... there in the corner, by a bunch of empty, crappy shelves and half-knocked over doors, there was a break room with... Water Bottles!
“Aww yeah!”
He didn't see anything else useful here, but he made his way to the next store over. Miserable-looking toys stared dully up at him from their broken places on the floor and their lonely places on the shelves. They were adorable. Shaun picked up a cute teddy backpack and stuck his water bottles inside. “Score!”
He moved on into the store. Waterbottles weren't a toy store thing, but maybe there was something else he could find, if only for morale. Initially he thought that he hadn't found anything, but, just as he was about to leave, he spotted a room, relatively untouched. And, inside it...
Water bottle!
“Aww yeah.” So far so good!
He went out into the sunshine for a moment to stretch and count his haul... hmmm... not nearly enough to return with. He was about to turn back to search the megamart again when he saw, nearby, a series of condos.
Well, he might as well check there.
It felt very normal to sneak around the house, even more normal still to slip inside through a window. The smell of death and loneliness, a distinctive and eerie smell, permeated the condo. He only needed to take a glance in the bedroom to see that he was, really and truly, alone. Only the dead lived here now. .. so he slipped to the fridge and looked inside. Water! He needed it more than they did so he stuck it in the forlorn teddy bag and continued to rob them blind, just like the old days. A few crackers and cans and s**t later, he figured it was time to leave – through the door this time. The hallway was another grisly sight, and he was tempted to cover the bear's eyes.
Then again, he figured, his bear backpack had probably seen some pretty awful things in its time. This was probably nothing.
He moved quickly through the hallway, past a barricaded door, and down a few stairs until he found another condo. He took a look around – empty. More supplies and Water Bottles were found here, a great find that he was very pleased with.
Bag full, he decided to return to the megamart and see what else was there – maybe another recruit could take a look later.
But all he found was a shattered computer store...
