Apparently someone had either gotten lost, forgot to do something to get cleared at security, or had died, as there was another set of empty rooms Fantasia was asked to barricade. Now this was a lot better to look forward to than cleaning up, surprisingly. She could feel strong while helping the cause instead of feeling like just another maid. (And maybe that was her pride talking, but at least it talked a good game.)
When she arrived, Fantasia surveyed her options. The barricades looked weak: best to reinforce it with something definitive. Solid. Dependable.
She eyed the desks with a rare smirk. For once, school became an important building block to survival.

Moving the suckers was the problem. They weren’t organized or of a uniform type either, so sometimes she found herself overcompensating on weight for one or just hurting her back on another. Still, moving them she did with a chorus of grunts and grumbles.

Okay…getting a little harder to keep going…Damn, were these things full? She checked and growled a sigh. Maybe her arms were too noodly after all.

Blech, she was gonna take a break. Desk arranging was hard, okay? And she didn’t exactly have air conditioning and a good supply of water or food.

And then at last, the final desk fell (literally) into place. Dusting her hands, Fantasia looked over her work to be sure, hammered a little more, and then bounced.
