Cardio: Always remember rule number 1. Cardio. Seeing how we have a gym at our disposal, there's really no reason to not keep yourself in top condition, especially during times like this. You need to do a minimum of 300 words among all steps to claim the rewards.
Step 1: Warm up It's always important to warm up before you exercise. You wouldn't want to pull a muscle, after all. Roll 1d4 1. Ouch! Seems like you might have overdone it a bit. -3 to your work out roll. 2-3. You've warmed up adequately. Time to get to work. No modifier. 4. You've done an excellent job. Your body is perfectly primed for what's ahead. +3 to your work out roll.
Step 2: Working out Roll 1d20 and choose a cardio exercise of your choice. Running, jump rope, ect, ect. Then RP it out according to your dice results. Add or subtract whatever modifiers you might have had from the previous step. 1-5: You tried to work out, but you ended up hurting yourself more than anything else. + 0 Bars. 6 -15: You get a decent workout. Not amazing, but it's still something to help keep you in shape. +2 bars 16-20: Great job! You feel invigorated and strong for this vigorous workout. +4 Bars.

It was a little hard to think with hunger gnawing at his belly and thirst scratching his throat. Still though, if he was feeling this crummy, Lola had to be feeling just as bad. Well, with luck, he could distract her. While the guilt was bad enough that she was stuck in this place due to visiting him, Al had to admit that this was probably safer than anyplace else.
At least they were together.
"Lola?" Al called, walking through the yard towards his wife. "You're gonna hate me, babe, but I think we should try something. Distract us from the same old s**t, you know?"

Tired eyes turned towards the voice addressing her, revealing the dark circles that seemed to grow larger with every passing day. Her hair, her beautiful bleached hair, had started showing its dark, dull roots - it wasn't like the prison offered much as far as beauty products went. The strands were as flat as her feelings. Listless.
She was all around tired of feeling crummy and if he had some sort of distraction in mind... well, even with the ominous you're going to hate me comment, it would have to be refreshing from the routine they'd fallen into, right?
"What ya thinkin' about, sugar?"

"Some cardio." Al responded with a winning grin, stepping closer so he could press a quick kiss to her cheek. "You know! Get us limber and ready to rumble." He wouldn't say why they'd be ready to rumble, but then again, it was the unspoken danger that plagued them all these days.
"Now, I know that's not really our thing... but what the hell, right? Can't hurt to start now."
He winked at her broadly, his grin not altering one whit. "Cmoooon, babe. Whatcha say? Humor me."
Even if she said no, well. He was pretty sure he could get her to come around...

She sighed. Her heart had sank a bit, but then again, what had she really expected? Al wasn't the kind of guy who'd be up for nail painting or outfit matching, not that either option was terribly viable, considering their situation.
Her expression softened at his kiss. She knew he was trying - bless his sweet, big 'ol heart. They were in a tough spot, but it wasn't like they hadn't been in one before. Just, y'know, never any that involved zombies until now.
"I suppose it could help speed up some of this weight loss I've been having..." she grinned at him, making light of their, well, light rations. "Sure. Why not. I don't think I've got anything else on my schedule for this afternoon."

"You always look fabulous, whether there's more of you to grab or not." The inmate said loyally, but her grin warmed his heart by several degrees. There was his old gal. Right. First things first, warming the ******** up. Al rolled his shoulders experimentally, before he started to do some lunges. Important to stretch those legs and stuff. Throw in some jumping jacks, do some jogging in place...
Al eventually slowed when his breathing had gotten heavier. Well, he sure as s**t didn't feel prepared.... but he didn't feel worse, either.

Eyeing her tall spouse, the shorter, chubbier inmate (that was still a crazy thought - her, stuck in prison?) mimicked his actions, Her attempts at jumping-jacks and lunges were humorous at best, but she did try.
That's all that anyone could ask of her, right?
Even with just a few stretches, she could feel herself quickly growing out of breath. Dang, she was in worse shape than she'd thought she was in! Guess it was a good thing junk food was a thing of the past!

Al had to admit that he wasn't in bad of shape as he thought. In fact, it almost felt pretty damn good! But in the end, he was just sweaty as hell and wheezing for breath, wondering what had possessed him to do something so stupid. Still, being able to just have some time with his wife, even if it was an activity they never normally did before.... it almost made things feel normal again.
Almost.

She huffed and she puffed, but she stuck it out and jogged alongside (or sort of alongside) her husband. Sweating was not her thing, but she'd begrudgingly admit that it sort of felt good to get her heart racing...and not by zombie-inducing, supplies-depleting panic.
Maybe she should give this a try more often!
Glancing up at her husband, she gave him another smile, despite the exhaustion already setting in on her bones. Then again...maybe she'd mention it to him another time. It felt like she'd already done well enough for one day!

What a miserable frickin' day.
The pain was still there, but had at lease subsided enough to where she felt she was able to tolerate it. As long as she didn't touch it. Or, y'know, talk. Or eat. Or do anything involving her mouth.
It wasn't as if she desired to do any of the above, anyways, with her tongue still swollen like she'd been stung by a bee. Of all the injuries to sustain, she had to hurt her face?
Feeling irritated, she began pacing the yard, her anxiety and irritation slowly rising with every step as her stride became faster and faster.

Lola wasn't the only one having a bad day. Well. So he'd lost his hearing, maybe permanently. Big whoop. He also helped take down an infected and got a cool shovel that worked as a fairly effective bludgeon.
He spotted his wife and started to hurry over--only to twist his ankle. He cursed loudly, hopping on one foot--and then cursed even louder, so he could hear himself.

She heard his stumbling before she actually noticed him, her pacing and frustrated thinking keeping her mind otherwise preoccupied. He was clearly poorly off a well, but her attitude had little room for sympathy at the moment.
"Whath dooth yuth wanth." She hissed, her tongue proving her speaking skills were still quite lacking.
Wincing, one hand instinctively moved up to rub her jaw, which only irritated it further, causing her to let out another foul, yet impossible to understand expletive.

Good Christ, her jaw was swollen something fierce. Al sucked in a breath through his teeth, stepping closer and trying not to limp. "The hell's that supposed to mean, toots? Glad to see you're alive! Was lookin' for you." He gingerly reached out to brush his knuckles against her temple, not trusting himself to touch any lower on her face.
If he was shouting at her, that was probably because he couldn't hear himself whatsoever.

He was trying to be comforting.
He was trying to be comforting.
She was repeating the mantra internally in her head as her irritation rose even higher, his hollering doing absolutely nothing to help her mood. Her anxiety was too high to be countered - her pacing resumed as she swatted his knuckles away.
It was after a few fast steps that she realized hell, this actually doesn't feel too terrible. The brisk pace was calming to her nerves and didn't require use of her jaw. Perfect.
Glancing back at her poor, wounded hubby, she struggled out a half-forced, half-playful, "Cath me ifth yuth can!" before dashing off, her ankles not worse for wear at the moment.

What the hell did she say?
Without warning, the woman dashed off with a surprising amount of agility, and Al was left blinking stupidly after her. Was she... Had she lost it?? After only a moment, he started to jog after her. Fortunately, it didn't seem like he'd twisted his ankle too badly, because after a few initial twinges, it seemed to sort itself out.
"Lola?" He called after her, his brows furrowed with confusion. "The hell's gotten into you?" Well. Maybe she was in a good mood? Maybe.
