Back to the gated off paintball zone for some more “stress relief.” God, she wondered if someone could be wood into pity sex at this point. They were all levels of grimy, age probably wasn’t as big of a barrier as it might have been before, right? Right?
(Ah, that imagination of hers. Better put to use imagining spankings and smut than, say, her sons infected and clawing at the electric gate. Better to imagine something fantastical than continue to dwell on those little ghosts in her skin. Better to be dirty than to stand still and fully realize the situation with its overwhelming manner of danger and unknowns.)
“Hit me up, Tex,” Adelaide told the man standing between her and her goods, and soon enough she was reunited with her paintball gun. A completely different one, sure, but they all felt the same to her: a weapon was a weapon was a fake but colorful weapon. She was itching even more than usual to get one of her own after handling that knife. Damn it but she needed something more reliable than her fists! Ah well, paintballing would just have to do for now.
“Let’s see what this thing’s made of, eh?” she said to no-one in particular. Talking to herself had become a burgeoning habit in the wake of the outbreak, and it wasn’t going to stop even with someone watching. Adelaide continued to mumble to herself as per usual as she shot down one target after another, complimenting and insulting on the fly. Her trigger finger was itchier today; maybe she had been thinking too much about just using one of her foraging missions to just flat out go looking for signs of Dazs and G. OR maybe it was too much spent on the hope that despite enjoying the outbreak, she hoped she could somehow find a happy ending for her strange, strange family. She didn’t know.
And because of her daze, she shot more than she intended. Still, overall it wasn’t bad. Hesitation wasn’t often rewarded these days anyway.
