After the run in Chris had with Babylon, and then with Athene and Liryn, there wasn’t much he could do other than wait, which was easier said than done. He had yet to mention the possibility of speaking to this Sailor Cosmos person to Paris, wanting to make sure he went to her with good news rather than getting her hopes up.

She was miserable and he could see it. She put too much of herself into everything, and with this happening to him, it was as if she was shutting down in order to protect herself. But he knew he couldn’t just stand around and do nothing while he waited.

He was on his way home from walking the city, trying to remember things that he’d forgotten after his run in with Laurelite, when he passed by the library. He hadn’t gone in a while; hadn’t needed to since he was no longer in school (apparently), but there was still someone there who might be able to help. Probably one of the only people he remembered both their identities before his memory was wiped.

Chris knew he probably looked out of place, walking into the library and looking around for someone rather than for books. He hadn’t seen Tony in a while, so he hoped he would be there that day. If all else failed, he could always ask someone at the front desk.

Hope this is okay! Let me know if you'd like me to change anything!

Tony was in his usual place behind the front desk. During the day, he had less time to go out into the library and do any shelving or shelf reading, and left that to the employees. He manned the front desk to answer any questions, help with accounts, and check books in and out.

And to keep an eye on Dogby.

Today, he had two short legged companions with him at work. Dogby was sitting under the desk, by his feet, snoozing contentedly. On the desk was a newer face, a small, very round cat by the name of Hadaya. The Mauvian liked books, though really he just liked being in company when Navi was unavailable.

Though, Tony got the feeling Hadaya was still a bit nervous around him, at least he was opening up a bit more. Getting braver, maybe.

He saw Chris walked in and smiled, recognizing the young man despite the time it had been since he last saw him.

"Good afternoon!"

It was a relief when Chris finally caught sight of the librarian in question, cautiously looking around to make sure he didn't see anyone who might overhear, before approaching the desk. He hoped it wasn't obvious in the way that he carried himself that he was a bit out of sorts, but he wasn't known to be able to hide all of his emotions easily.

"Tony," he greeted as a sigh of relief. "I... I'm sorry to bother you like this. I need some help," he went right into it, although still cautious about exactly what kind of help when he wasn't sure if this was the best place to have this conversation.

"My..." he started and lifted a hand to his chest to try and indicate his starseed without actually saying the word. "It was
damaged. I'm trying to find out how to fix... it..." he trailed off, now looking curiously at the cat on the desk. He'd noticed both animals when he approached, of course, but something about the cat caught his attention. Maybe he imagined it reacting to what he'd said.

Tony noted the look on Chris' face and immediately shifted gears from friendly librarian greeting to serious, concerned adult. He leaned forward, listening intently. When his friends and family were in trouble, it was his instinct to want to help them. Even before he found out what the trouble actually was.

The word 'help' was used, and that was really all Tony needed to hear before he was fully committed to doing whatever he could.

Hadaya perked up, looking up at the young man that came up to the counter. He yawned sleepily, getting up and stretching his stumpy legs as best he could, though they were not exactly built for reaching too far forward.

The hand motions made the kitty tilt his head. Starseed? Was this one of Camelot's many powered friends? Not wanting to talk, just in case it wasn't, Hadaya just padded forward and rubbed his head against Chris's chest, as any super friendly kitty would, though his effort was to see if he could at least feel what damage this guy was talking about.

Tony motioned for Chris to follow him behind the counter, toward his office in the back. They could at least talk there without any worry of being spotted. He had a monitor for the front desk in there, and an old fashioned bell, so he was not worried about missing anything. The library was empty anyway.

"What do you mean? Can you tell me more?" he asked, once they were in the office. Both of the small animals had followed them, though Dogby only out of a dire need to be with her owner at all times. Hadaya opted to stick next to Chris, looking up at him curiously the whole time and bumping into the door frame because of it.

As someone who loved animals, Chris smiled when the cat rubbed itself against his chest, his own hands reaching up to scratch behind its ears. When Tony indicated for Chris to follow him into the office, he did, although the presence of the animals calmed him, somewhat.

“A few months ago, just before purifying Gevaudan and Hawara, I was almost corrupted. But I didn’t find out until just recently that my starseed had been damaged,” he explained once the door had been closed behind them.

“I don’t know what to do,” he said, trying not to sound too distressed, but knowing he probably did, anyway. “My wife and I are expecting twins any day now, and… I want to be in their lives if possible. Or at least find out how much time I have left.” it sounded rather depressing now that he said it out loud, but that was the reality of his situation. “Please… I just want to know.”

Tony listened thoughtfully, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. He did not notice it, but Hadaya shared the expression, as much as a cat could. Dogby seemed to be the only one not listening, in fact, and was in a corner, punctuating the heavy and serious conversation with squeaks as she chewed on a toy bone.

Tony was so used to the sound, he hardly registered it.

"Why do you think you're going to be taken away from them?" He asked after a moment, looking slightly conflicted in how he wanted to approach the subject. He could see how worried Chris was, and wanted to make sure he had all the important details before offering advice he could not take back.

Hadaya looked sad and leaned comfortingly against Chris. Since this conversation was about starseeds and purification and chaos, he assumed it was safe to break character as a normal cat.

"We will figure out a way to help you!"

Chris appreciated how nothing could have changed what was going on in Dogby’s world as long as he had a full bowl of food and water and his chew toy. This is why Chris loved dogs. All animals, but dogs especially.

He opened his mouth to answer Tony’s question, only to jump in surprise when the cat spoke up. It was a relief, really. He knew if anyone would be able to try and help him, it would be Tony, but the fact that there was a guardian cat there as well, it gave him a little more hope.

“Thank you,” he said in appreciation to the cat. He glanced up at Tony as if to check to make sure it was okay, before looking back down at the cat. “I’m Chris… and Valhalla,” he quickly introduced, before glancing back up at Tony to answer him.

“I haven’t been feeling well, but it’s been getting worse. I thought it was a normal side effect of the chaos, but… I’m not sure how long someone can last with the condition my starseed is in. I know it has the potential to be healed if it’s reborn, but… that’s not really an option for me,” he explained, looking from one to the other and hoping he didn’t sound as desperate as he thought he sounded.

“My magic hasn’t been working. I can’t sense auras… I’ve had chest pain, and when my starseed was put back in just a few weeks ago, I got sick… It wasn’t like the first time it happened…” He supposed it probably wasn’t good that his starseed has left his chest twice now.
