Cardio: Always remember rule number 1. Cardio. Seeing how we have a gym at our disposal, there's really no reason to not keep yourself in top condition, especially during times like this. You need to do a minimum of 300 words among all steps to claim the rewards.
Step 1: Warm up It's always important to warm up before you exercise. You wouldn't want to pull a muscle, after all. Roll 1d4 1. Ouch! Seems like you might have overdone it a bit. -3 to your work out roll. 2-3. You've warmed up adequately. Time to get to work. No modifier. 4. You've done an excellent job. Your body is perfectly primed for what's ahead. +3 to your work out roll.
Step 2: Working out Roll 1d20 and choose a cardio exercise of your choice. Running, jump rope, ect, ect. Then RP it out according to your dice results. Add or subtract whatever modifiers you might have had from the previous step. 1-5: You tried to work out, but you ended up hurting yourself more than anything else. + 0 Bars. 6 -15: You get a decent workout. Not amazing, but it's still something to help keep you in shape. +2 bars 16-20: Great job! You feel invigorated and strong for this vigorous workout. +4 Bars.
Joy Ann had not been built for speed, and while that had all been okay in her past life, it was a potentially worrisome in what her life had become. After talking it over with Autumn, who had the best advice for everything, the former teacher decided to poke her head, neck, and rest of body into the prison's gym to see what she could do about getting into slightly better shape. Her wind in general was fine due to constantly running around after small children and then constantly running around the prison in a state of panic, but her running around had always been at a relatively sedate pace. Her agility definitely needed a little work.
Dressed as athletically as the prison's standard regulation clothing allowed, Joy Ann found a spot out in the corner of the gym and decided to do the standard bit of morning stretching she had been taught to do in her classroom. She wasn't going to think about her students right now, because she was purposefully notthinkingaboutthem, but it was easy enough to let her mind go blank while her body went through its time-worn motions. Who knew if these stretches actually helped with warming up... Probably not, but then again, they had to be better than just taking off running from the get go.

After her stretch routine was done with, Joy Ann moved to the nearest workout machine and surreptitiously watched the other people using the machines to see how exactly they were supposed to be used. Hopefully no one was watching her, because she was definitely going to lead others astray.
Actually... These machines looked way too complicated. She eventually decided that winners were the ones who didn't hurt themselves on torture devices that were disguised as good for you, and made her way over to the treadmills instead. Joy Ann had never liked running, but she supposed it was also better than just giving up. Okay, so maybe she was going to start off by walking instead... And run a bit, and walk a lot more... And jog a little... Yeah, this was literally getting her nowhere. Maybe she could jump rope for a bit instead, and that may help some.
…Surely she’d have more motivation to run if someone was actually chasing her, only, she really hoped that wouldn’t happen. Made she could take some time to practice hiding, since running away was looking like less and less of a viable option. Only time and experience would tell.
