Paintball: Among all of the equipment and sports gear that lie around ready for common use on the playing field, there is a section squared off for another test that the faction has created for new members. It's simple enough - you're given a paintball gun with a silencer on it - this is important, because guns are too noisy to be fired out in the open field, even if it's still protected by the electrified fence. It might attracted too much unwanted attention.
A crudely made mechanical device pops up cardboard cut outs of what looks like were once poster advertisements of various people. There's a busty woman smoking a cigarette and leaning on something that might have been a car. There's a young man in jeans that hang too low, trying to look like James Dean in a black and white photo. There are several of these cardboard people, most of which are only from the midsection up, that pop up at random times like Whack a Moles. Interspersed between them are similar cutouts - except these have been altered. The skin has been colored to green, eyes have been blackened or reddened, and blood seems to have been drawn everywhere. These are the infected. It's your job to shoot them. And only them.
The test isn't necessarily a chance to practice your shooting skills - it's meant to test your ability to make quick decisions, and a crude attempt to lesson friendly fire casualties. The cutouts pop up fast, and at random, making for a hectic challenge; so it's also a stress test.
Step One: Roll 6d6 in one NON-RP post. Each dice is considered one cutout, in the exact order they are rolled. Even means it was a human, odd means it was a zombie.
Step Two: In your next post, roll 6d6 again. Each dice is considered the shot for the cutouts in your first roll. The first dice tells you whether you hit the first cutout, and so on. Even means you shot it, odd means you did not shoot. -You must roleplay each cutout individually, although you may do them all in this one post. Just describing what you hit is enough. -This post in total must be a minimum of 300 words.
Example: -I roll 6d6 and get 5, 6, 3, 1, 5. This means I have a zombie, a human, a zombie, a zombie, and a zombie, in that order. -I roll 6d6 again, and get 6, 3, 5, 1, 2. This means I hit a zombie, I did not fire at a human, I did not fire at a zombie, I did not fire at a zombie, I hit a zombie.
IC Modifiers: -Your character might be wary about shooting anything (This is your roleplay choice based on your character). If so, you are allowed to choose to change one of your six shots to a no-shot, each time you do this exercise. -Your character might be trigger happy (This is your roleplay choice based on your character). If so, you are allowed to choose to change one of your six shots to a hit, each time you do this exercise. -You may not do BOTH of these each time. Just one. -You may choose to do neither. -The choices you make do affect your end score.
Rewards: For every zombie you hit, you get 1 bar. For every human you did not shoot, you get 1 bar. For every human you hit, you lose 1 bar. You cannot get negative numbers, so if your third shot hits a human and you are at 0, you remain at zero. If you get a -1, then a 1, however, you end up with 0. You may do this once a day.

He'd had a gun back when he'd had a van. A stun gun, sure, but it had aimed and fired and everything, even though it had more closely resembled a remote control than a pistol. Not that what he was given now was a pistol either. It was large and clunky and before he pointed the thing at his targets he was over halfway sure that if he was confronted by an undying, he would surely miss. When he pulled the trigger, he hit something. Not what he'd intended, but it was still a surprise.
Max stood silently, squinting at the green splotch on the cutout's shoulder before it creaked away.
"Hm. Your turn."

She had never used any sort of gun before. She'd never really had a use for one. When it came to stealing she wasn't into armed robbery or anything. She stole simple things, and simple things didn't require guns. So when the first cutout popped out she really expected to either miss completely or shoot the wrong thing. The trigger was a little hard to work with, and she wasn't used to having to hold such a heavy object but she did manage to hit it! "Hey I got one!! Did you see that, Max?" Diana grinned, a little more confident at her paintball skills. She was pumped and ready for her next target now, enough that she almost shot the human that showed up next. It was a close call, but she managed to stop herself from pulling the trigger before she made a mistake and "killed" the human. Maybe she could use an actual gun to protect herself, though she wasn't going to get too cocky yet. "Round two! Redeem yourself sir van driver!" Bars so far: 2

"I did see it. You're a regular zombie hunter." It was difficult not to share in her enthusiasm, even though stoicism came naturally to the man, and he found himself chuckling as he aimed again. When the cutouts rose into view, Max waited just long enough to make sure they were undying this time, then landed shots on both of them, smirking as he turned to her.
"I am redeemed. Maybe I'm the zombie hunter here."

"Oh you got them both! Were you really just the van driver and not something more? Your gun skills are pretty fabulous." They would need fabulous too. If Max was as good at shooting real zombies as he was with these cutouts he would be a very valuable man to keep around. Holding up her own gun once more she prepared to go all out. The first one popped up and she panicked, completely missing the target and losing her grip on the gun for a good moment. So much for her being better this time! She wouldn't lose so easily though. Next target up and she shot without fail, nailing the undying in the chest. That was much better!

"Nope. I just drove the van. I guess I played some XBox at home too, but I wasn't very good and this is not a controller." Max raised the gun again, shooting another undying and neatly missing a survivor. Then he was back to squinting. "I'm not really sure what's going on here to be honest. Lucky, I guess." In a lot of ways.
"Since this place was minimum security, you must have picked up all your skills from a console too, right?" Or so he hoped. She might have been a bloodthirsty criminal mastermind, accidentally caught for something petty. He moved aside to let her shoot again, watching the targets to see how she did.

It seemed as soon as Max said that she had any sort of skills she started to fumble. It really wasn't intentional or meant to throw him off, she just really did not do well with her next two targets. She missed yet another undying much to her dismay, and even went as far as shooting a human target! Oh she felt ashamed to say that she had any skill earlier. She'd been jinxed, and the only way to regain her honor was to try harder! "I'm not in here for armed robbery or anything scary if that's what your thinking. I don't really have that much skill either. Just got lucky the first time," she smiled, motioning to her two newest targets.

Not a bloodthirsty criminal mastermind then. Max was hardly disappointed, but he did find himself missing the cheerful exuberance she had displayed earlier when she had been landing hits.
"One more round?" he asked. Admittedly, part of him was curious to see if he might manage to do so well a second time.Quote: zombie, zombie, human, human, human, zombie

One more round? Well it couldn't get much worse than last round could it? Besides, more rounds meant more practice and hopefully she could get enough practice in to really fight like she needed to. While before she would have laughed at the thought of paintball shooting as a way to train anything, now she super focused and ready to use this opportunity to her advantage. "Sure! One more round sounds good. It'll be more practice and we'll get to see if we're actually getting better or if it's just luck," she nodded, readying her gun for another go. "I'll beat ya for sure van boy." Quote: zombie, human, human, human, human, zombie Smerdle Well that was just an awful roll. XD

Van boy. Not the most flattering moniker out there, but better than a lot of the things he'd been called in his time. Max hit the button to start the contraption again, muttering a surprised 'hey' as one of the cutouts popped up almost immediately. A zombie. In his panic he did nothing, but that was mostly because his gun was still aimed at the ground and his finger was nowhere near the trigger.
"False start," he claimed, watching his targets with unblinking eyes. He shot the next undying quickly and accurately, and the next as well, but when he looked more closely at what he had hit that time, he realized it was a human. He blamed a tickle in his throat, too much light, shaky hands, and vowed not to do it again, which he didn't because he neglected to fire another shot, even though his last cutout was an undying.
"Okay, you could probably beat that in your sleep. But it is good practice regardless." Good practice, and it had lifted his spirits after their miniature invasion. "Next time something shambles in here, we'll be able to take it. If we can find guns." It was a big 'if'. The warden had a gun, but Max had never seen anyone else just wandering around with one. He wondered if they might practice with something they could actually get their hands on next time.
"There. My title's defended. It's your turn... Unarmed Robber." He'd never been particularly talented at nicknames.

She was going to do better this time! The first target came out and without hesitating she made the shot. One undying down! Yes she had this! She'd show Max that she could defend herself, though he probably wasn't too concerned about her. Next target came, and luckily she realized it was a human before trying to gun it down. She was getting a better hang of this slowly but surely. She could do this. Three more humans came, and she almost destroyed one of them in her determination to hit something again. She was a bit too trigger happy, but her second guessing herself had paid off for the target. "I'm getting used to this!" Diana called over to Max, completely missing the last zombie that showed up as she found herself getting distracted. "Aw, maybe not," she laughed, placing the gun down. He had called her the unarmed robber. It was sort of funny in a way. It sounded like it had been meant as a nickname, but came off more as a statement than anything. They'd have to work on his nicknaming skills. "We'll have to do this again soon, van boy. Maybe next time we'll actually hit more targets too." Bars: 1 (making the fourth one a miss) Smerdle Yeees this was fun. Definitely more soon. <3
