She told herself she probably ought to hit the gym after that little scene with the undying--really, how could she have missed that thing, even with a small rock? But rather than her muscles, maybe she had to work on her aim...And what better to try that out with than some paintball, right?
(Hot damn, she was glad this equipment lasted this deep into the outbreak. Where was this sort of fun on The Walking Dead, huh?)
Eagerly she grabbed her gun and feigned holstering it for fun, cracking her knuckles individually as she stepped up to the plate. This was probably her favorite form of stress relief. Who knew, maybe she'd win herself one of the warden's firearms.
(She liked to pretend. Imagination was the closest thing to reading and writing she got these days, beg and plead as she might for a writing utensil and some paper.)
The pop ups were quicker than she thought. On the first few, Adelaide stayed her trigger finger, calling out a few compliments to the paper people as they whizzed past. (“Nice hair, Tits McGee!” “Smile to the camera, Jeans—s**t, James Dean—ahaha—” “Say hello to my little friend!”) And perhaps it was that last one in particular that riled up the older woman’s need to actually shoot; the human target was given a blast of blue on accident.
Look, she swore the thing had discolored skin. Not her fault the paint was fading.
Her hesitation nearly cost her the infected that came up next, but she quickly gave it a new layer of color. Perhaps too enthusiastically, as she swung the paintball gun right on the human right after that. Cursing, Adelaide let the final one go and pat her cheek. “Wasn’t so bad if you ask me,” she grumbled as she handed the equipment back.
