Description: There's no easy way to say this... So...Okay. While there is running water, most people are a little phobic of it. There's no way to get water hot, and frankly, all the soap dispensers have been vandalized and hijacked a long time ago.
Yeah, that's right. Everyone stinks, and you need to cope with the unwashed masses surrounding you. Yikes.
Goals:
Step 1: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO MAKE A MASK. You need a mask that can cover your nose and mouth to use when the smell really gets bad. Unfortunately, all of the fancy gas and plaguedoctor masks are locked away behind the Arcade's prize counter. You're going to have to get crafy and make one. Good thing there are lots of clothes stores around!
Roll 1d8. If odd, you succeed.
Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL. Wearing cloth over your nose and mouth will only help you out so much. It's time to get in touch with your inner tree-hugging hippy and embrace the thought of... potpourri. You're pretty sure you've seen both a florist and a tea shop somewhere in this mall.
Roll 2d8 until they match.
Step 3: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER. It's time to assemble your mask.
Roll 1d20 until you get a 10 or lower.
First time doing this quest? Please write a minimum of 100 words for 1 Arcade Token.
Repeating? Minimum word count jumps up to 300 in order to claim your 1 Arcade Token.
Feeling wordy? Go above and beyond the bare minimum for additional tokens! You need to meet this word count while doing the quest, so no going back to pad your quest to claim tokens! These token bonuses do not stack, so you can't write 100 words to claim 1 token, then add 300 words to claim 2 more tokens.
500 words = 2 Arcade Tokens. 600 words = 3 Arcade Tokens. 700 words = 4 Arcade Tokens. 800 words = 5 Arcade Tokens.
Whistle While You Work: Did you know that it's possible to become "nose blind" to something if you smell it for a prolong period of time? When in doubt, grab a buddy and see if they can smell what you smell, or let them question your taste in potpourri. You will have to both roll for your own successes, but you know what they say: whoever smelt it dea- hey! Where are you going?

Step 1: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO MAKE A MASK.
If there was one thing that would possibly driver Gretel crazy, it would be hygiene. The highest number of item that appeared in her bag were soaps. Therefore, her smell wasn't too bad compared to the rest of Mall Rats. Seven days without a shower or bath was the least thing a girl would wish to happen. SEVEN DAYS.
Gretel sighed, the Nth time after she had been to the mall. She didn't care whether there was hot water or not, she wanted a shower so badly. The collective smell that she breathed in every second was too suffocating. To describe, it smelt like rotten fishes, soured juices and skunk's gas put all together in a mixer and the resulted product of it.
Frowning, she came into the conclusion that she needed a mask to separate or simply filter the air she inhaled. Considering how awful the smell was, it was reasonable to make a multi-layer fabric mask. She knew there were a number of clothing stores inside the mall so collecting fabrics won't be a problem. However, getting other ingredients like needles, threads and spandex would be slightly hard.
Gretel sighed and headed to the grocery stores that she went before for things to fill the boxes. She was lucky to find a pair of workable scissors that was sharp enough to cut, she turned it and tossed it into her bag. GAP, H&M and Hot Topic were stores with better quality of clothing. H&M was good for the varied styles but the clothes were not durable. Hot Topic was not bad, but she wasn't good enough to distinguish which one was of better quality, thus she went to GAP. Even though she was pretty aloof, Gretel was picky thus she spent almost an hour to get the fabrics she need.
She cut more than she needed, in case she messed up in the process and folded them neatly to put into the bag. Her next destination was the The Handyman. It was cleaned, almost but she managed to find a sewing kit under the bottom of the shelf. It must be dropped in the chaos. Gretel pulled it out, the seal tape was broken and some threads and needles fell out of it. Yet, it was still more than enough to make a mask.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
She had fabrics and the tools, unfortunately she was an amateur that the effect of the finished mask won't be great, therefore, she needed an aroma to refresh her sense of smelling. Gretel who had good memory recalled there was a tea shop in the second floor. "Maybe I can grab some to make a scented middle layer?" she mused quietly.
When she made a decision, she took action promptly. There she was already searching in Teavana, a famous store selling tea and related products. She was glad no one seemed to think tea was needed so the reserve was sufficient. Gretel opened cans of tea leaves to sniff for the scent she won't mind smelling in these seven days.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
It might be heaven compared to other places of the mall, different kinds of aromas she breathed in were so comfortable and refreshing. Though the dessert blends like Marshmallow Macaron Herbal Tea or Strawberry Cream White Tea would remind how little she ate and made her stomach drummed, they still gave her a moment of joy.
Gretel loved water, and even eating outside she would request a glass of water instead of juice. As a result, she wasn't very interested in tea. Seeing tea can have so many types and even blend together was somehow an amazing thing. She never know tea can be classified into black, white or green tea.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
Gretel tried the fruity blend next, the Pineapple Kona Pop Herbal Tea was too fruity in her opinion, she felt her teeth soured. She tried the Sakura Allure Green Tea which was a blend of cherries, mango and candied pineapple, it didn't work for her either. The peach blends smelt good but don't block the odour well enough. Shortly, she found herself tested all the available blends under the fruity section.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
Moving on, the next section was for Citrusy Teas. Lemon, orange, lime and other citrus fruits mixed with different kinds of flowers. Gretel enjoyed the fresh sourness of them but felt, when they mixed with the surrounding smell, it was even worse.

She never learn she was that picky until now, there was just one section left - the minty flavour.

Scarlet Cloud White Tea, the refreshing hint of mint was what she liked. Yet, again, the citrus mixed with the bad smell doubled the damage to her nose.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
The spearmint in the Moroccan Mint Green Tea smelt lovely, sadly the aroma was too weak to cover the strong unpleasant smell of sweats and body oil. That left her with three options remained: a berry blend, a strawberry-hibiscus mix and a watermelon one.

Step 2: SCAVENGE THE PARTS TO BLOCK THE SMELL.
She sniffed the berry blend, it was slightly too sweet for her though the aroma would block most of the odour easily. "This refreshing flavored green tea perfectly captures the Latin-inspired minty mojito cocktail by combining succulent blackberries and raspberries with a spearmint kick." She read the words on the package, the beautifully woven lyric-like description was fun to read.
Gretel put down the package and picked up another one, its name was hilariously odd - Weight To Go! Pu-erh Tea. It was consisted of strawberry, apple, hibiscus and mint. It wasn't a bad choice, she just hoped the mint would be stronger.
She picked up the final one, Watermelon Mint Chiller White Tea. After one sniff, she had found her favourite scent for her mask. It was the winner with sufficient soothing feel of the peppermint, the sweetness and briskness from the melon and weak mixture of citrus fruits.

Step 3: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER.
Sitting at a table, she took out a small notebook and pencil to sketch her mask. First of all, it needed to have a few layers. Then, a pocket to hold the aroma component and finally two elastic loops to hang it around the ears. The second point.....was somehow hard to achieve. She finally thought that she could make a small slit on the side. She made the patterns and cut them out, sewn them together and before she inserted the loops, she poured in the tea blend made sure they are evenly distributed and not pricking when wear on her face. Sealing up the breach, it was done.
A lovely seafoam color with refreshing mint aroma, simple but good looking.
