For whatever reason, that may have beyond ever her, Kammy wanted to get some extra brownie points. Or credit points in this matter. Either that or she was bored and decided to go do something. When asking what could be done, she was told that cleaning was always a option.
Okay, good. Now she just hoped she didn't have to clean the bathroom. Please, not the bathroom.
Thankfully her pleas were answered, and she was placed in the dusting team. Awesome, now she just needed to grab some utensils.

James wasn't exactly a neat freak - his piggish dorm could certainly attest to that. However, there was something nice and relaxing about cleaning, and so he'd been more than happy to join the dusting team. Somewhere, in a city far away and hopefully far safer, he was certain his mother was even now shedding a proud tear.
He was even MORE exponentially pleased to find a real, actual feather duster. It didn't even have any blood on it! He clutched the pristine object to his chest. What luck.
He turned to a fellow team-duster, smiling. "How do you do miss?" and then, without waiting for a response, continued, "I think what I miss most about the apocalypse, besides my phone and tumblr and instagram and Facebook of course, is the lack of good, solid craft beer."
He twirled his moustache mournfully.

Wow, this was a rarity. she was given a actual feather duster to use. Very handy indeed.
And she wasn't the only one to receive one too. "We got lucky today didn't we?" She said to James. "Maybe we'll get some actual work done too."
"Oh, doing great. For a person surviving the end of the world at least." She replied. "Dunno about craft beer, but I miss all the other things. Actually, I just miss my computer. And my 3ds, and my PS4. And my laptop. I must all my electronics..." She sighed forlornly, her memories awash of the great times she spent with her intel core i7 second generation 3.5 CPU over clocked with 16 GB ram and 1 terrabyte SSD drive. And her MMO's.
"I wish I didn't drop my MTG card deck either." Sad Kammy was sads.

James had never owned a console - his phone had always been enough - but he appreciated the struggle. Not being able to obsessively check his social media platforms had nearly been his undoing.
"Yeah. I miss my phone. It's like, how can we survive if we can't share photos of our meals with the whole internet? Also I miss my cats. They lived on my phone, you know," he added, by way of (unhelpful) explanation.
He limp-wristedly waved the feather duster around, more rearranging the mess than actually cleaning any of it up. He pondered the futility of rubbing dead animal leavings on things in an attempt to make them cleaner. After all, weren't we all just dust in the wind? Heh. Kansas. Which reminded him - he also really missed all of the fun campus events. The ones that had far less zombies and far more food and indie bands.
"So, were you a student?" he continued. "What was your major? I'm in Early Childhood Development - at least, I was." He frowned suddenly. "I hope they got the kids out safe," he added in an uncharacteristically sad undertone.

Kammy had the feeling that this guy might be a few cards short of a deck, but she wasn't exactly one to judge for sanity. "I know right? I haven't been able to finish any of my games. Or do any raids, it horrible. Oh, you have cats on your phone? Cool, cats always make everything better."
The room itself hadn't been cleaned since before the hole zombie outbreak, she was sure of that. Most of the chairs and tables had a thick layer of dust on them, with others in the room upturned and broken completely.
While James rearranged the dust, Kammy set about trying to clean up. But with so much everywhere she succeed in just, rearranging the dust as well. Most likely back into it's original place
"Early child development? Nice, I was in Information Technology. Totally into all things bit related if you couldn't tell." She noted the sudden turning point of the conversation, her gut clenching with the idea that actually children had been caught up in all of this. "I'm sure they got out alright. Parents would have grabbed their kids and got to someone safe. Yeah" She didn't want to think about kid zombies running about. Because they used to be kids. "Oh and your cats as well. Cats are pretty smart, they would have been able to seen trouble coming a mile away."
The girl frowned as some of the dust flew up in the air, tickling her nose and making her sneeze. In retaliation she swung her duster around some more, only succeeding to make a big cloud.
"Achoo!" Stupid apocalypse for making dusty rooms happen.

"I hope so."
The sadness didn't last long, however, for James was a major believer in turning a frown upside down.
"James, by the way, James Bridges, so nice to meet you. IT, huh? I don't suppose you could figure out some way for us to all charge our phones? I mean, we probably can't place calls, but I haven't put food out for Susan in ages and it's really quite important that I unlock all the rare cats." It had been so long since he'd played, he couldn't even properly remember what those were. If only he'd had a guide - but that was long lost, like the internet.
At this point, he reviewed their conversation and actually made an effort to digest some of what was said outside his concern for his virtual cat hobby.
"What's a raid?"
Eventually, from sheer time spent dusting the same spot more than anything, the area he was working in was nigh spotless. Pleased, he turned to being anew somewhere else.

"Same here James. Jenna Kamyrm, but just call me Kammy for short." She replied after she stopped sneezing. "And I wish, but the main generators are out, and the backup ones only have enough power for lights. Really crappy lights. Nothing else works, and if did it wouldn't work for long."
"Rare cat achievements huh? How far you ahead?" She wasn't aware of the game he played, but she could follow along well enough. "Oh, a raid's were you grab all your friends and go into a big dungeon then fight all the monsters, then you go up against the big boss. You can get tons of rare loot that way."

Rare loot. It was probably a lot like rare cats, he decided, and rare cats were exciting.
"Oh, wow, that sounds awesome! And, uh, well, to be honest, without the guide I'm not too sure," he began, staring off into the distance in thought while counting off on his fingers.
"You see, you have to lay out certain items, while also offering the right kind of food. But it's different for each cat, and then of course you have to actually check in to take photos of said cat while it's hanging around" - his hand reflexively went to the dead phone in his pocket, then fell to his side.
"Anyway, uh. I mean, I also like things besides cats," he added hurriedly. "I have this really great vinyl collection. Maybe if we can find a victrola or crank record player you could come by and listen sometime!" he added brightly.
