It was early morning, Rukbart had yet to show itself in the sky and already Octavia and her sister we working. They had taken a small crew of only 5 with them today and were already a little ways out to sea, heading towards one of the small coves off the shorelines in which she knew there were oysters. Grey eyes flashed as a coy smile broke upon slender features as she glanced over at her sister. "How many do you think we'll find today?" She said as she tied her hair behind her head in a braided knot.

She was hoping they found a good number of them, and hopefully they had pearls. The two had quite a fine collection of them going already, or at least Octavia did. She had been saving them up slowly with each find. She was either going to trade them for something really nice or make them into something, she wasn't sure of what yet. The hands on deck were making sure that the barrels of water were secured and she snatched up a small pouch and tied it to her waist for when she was down in the water once they got to where they were going.

They would reach the cove just as dawn approached, that was the best time she felt to dive. Pern was yet to come alive and the sea seemed mythical at that hour and she absolutely loved it. Plus the shipfish would be around as well and she very much enjoyed their company.

Mine, wake up. We must go. His voice rang in her head clear as day and she stretched and rolled over. Okay, Okay, I'm awake Reciproth. I AM awake.' She said rubbing her eyes and she sat up slowly and pulled her cloths on. After a quick prepping she walked over towards where her gear was tacked up and she got it together. 'Why the rush? What's happened?' She asked wondering if perhaps something had occurred in which dire need was required. 'There is a candidate we must fine. There is nothing wrong in Pern that requires us elsewhere.' He said with a light thrum as she came into view of the massive beast.

She couldn't help but smile every time she saw him. Her love for him was more than any relationship she would ever know for another human. It was what happened when they bonded, they become each others worlds. Not that she didn't have time for anyone, it was just that no one had caught her eye. At least not yet. 'Oh? Well, i'm sure they will be worthwhile if you are awakening me well before Rukbart has even peeked it's head over the horizon.' She said with a laugh as she strapped the riding gear on him.

She woke up slowly. Soon she'd be heading out with Naressa to take their dragons searching in a nearby hold. It wasn't one she'd visited recently, so it'd be interesting. Vosin knew it was close to when Killakeeth would be clutching. The gold was fat. Experience told her that in maybe a sevenday there would be eggs hardening on the sands. So this was the last real chance she had to get out. She'd enjoy the trip to the hilt.

"Ready to go find those candidates?" She called to the gold who was lounging in her wallow. Vosin was proud of her dragon and looking forward to a good clutch. Killa looked in good health; bright hide that was well oiled to prevent blemishes, well fed, and exercised. Although that last one was harder than it sounded. Vosin pulled on her clothes. The woman strolled into the weyr and waited for the dragon to get up before putting on her harness.

Killakeeth for her part stood calmly as she was harnessed. She tilted her head. It sounds like Reciproth is awake and raring to go Vosin. You'd better hurry. She sounded amused as her rider finished and mounted up. The dragon moved to the ledge of her weyr. She stretched out her wings and gave them a couple tentative flaps before taking off. Bright morning and clear skies to you Reciproth. About ready to go? Killa let the breeze waft her up.

Days began early for the twins, and really any fishermen of Eron Hold. The sooner they were out when the sun rose the sooner they could get to work. Banashe scrutinized the other people in their boat. It was all people they knew and had worked with previously. One would say on the boat as others dove for oysters. A voice long familiar to her pulled her attention from the other people. She regarded Octavia a moment. "Well I'd hate to jinx us by making a prediction. All I can say it I hope it's a good haul." They could use a good catch.

"I'd like to see some shipfish there." The animals were nice to have around. Somehow she felt a bit safer when they were around. "Are we ready to go?" she asked. Her tone said she expected the answer to be yes.

It wasn't long before they reached the cove and Octavia was more than ready to go. She figured after they dove for a bit they could cast a few nets to see what kind of sea life they could bring on board. They had enough barrels to put any of their catch in so hopefully the morning proved fruitful.

She couldn't help but chuckle as her sister scrutinized the crew in the way that only Banashe could ever possibly do and she felt a faint smile touch her lips. Ah, she couldn't help but adore her boisterous twin. That girl was something else, though so was she. They were a force to be reckoned with and no one went against them, not if they didn't want trouble out of it in the end. "Am I ever anything but?" She said in response to her sisters question about being ready, she gave her a wink and prepared herself for the dive.

It was time to go. "Oh, and I'm most certainly sure that we might see some." Little had her sister known but she had scoped the place out on a runner the other day. They were fortunate enough to have a few as they were necessary to pull the carts with their goods when they traveled to sell their wares. She knew her sister had a far greater love for ship fish than she would at least do this much for her. Hopefully they would come out with their ship there. "Dive deep, dive far, and dive safe. I'll see you soon." She said with a tip of her hand on an imaginary cap and overboard she went, the cool water surrounding her as she dove into its depths.

Reciproth thrummed with delight as she climbed on his back and within moments they were airborne, flying to meet Killakeeth and her rider Vosin. 'To you as well Killakeeth. We are ready to fly.' He said in response to the Golds question. 'Are they ready?' She asked him as they flew into view of the gold and her rider. 'Yes mine, we are meeting them now. It won't be but a quick trip hopefully.' Not that she wouldn't mind if it was long. She loved going to Eron, it was a very beautiful hold and she enjoyed looking over at the sea, plus it was fun to fly into the waters and out of them again. It wasn't something they had done in a while so she was hoping perhaps they could one of these days, though not today.

She noticed how round the gold was looking and she smiled at Vosin as they came within speaking distance. "Good morning Killakeeth, you are looking well taken care of today." It was always good to compliment a gold, especially when they were about to burst with eggs. "Are we ready to do this Vos?" She said with a grin.

She waved to Naressa as she spotted the pair rising up to meet them. Vos chuckled as she heard the compliment to her dragon. At least someone noticed her hard work. "Reciproth drag you outta bed today Naressa?" She asked sympathetically. "I believe we are! Sending image to Killa now. See you there!" She closed her eyes to send her dragon the best image she could. A breathless moment of between and they were out in the warm salty air. "Ah this is more like it."

Glad to hear it. She rumbled her greeting to the pair. Vosin spends much time making sure I am well pampered, the dragon commented directly to Naressa. She was also pleased her beauty had been noted. Not that she needed it but it was nice. I have the image. I'll see you there. Killa took them between then glided as she waited for the blue to join her.

Satisfied everything was running smoothing, Banashe flashed a grin at her sister. "Of no one else, I know you will always be ready and where you're suppose to be." Her sister was quite reliable next to herself. Banashe knew that when they got a common goal in mind, nothing would stand in their way. Currently they were working through their apprenticeships toward journeywomen. Banashe wanted to make it through that, then she planned to get her own boat, from there her own fleet of ships. Obviously they needed crew to work those ships.

She stripped down to basic garments that she dived in. It was brisk that morning, but beautiful. Banashe watched the sun slowly rise up out of the ocean. Glorious. "Dive safe," she echoed before her twin plunged in. There was nothing like this as far as she was concerned. With a nod to the rest of the crew, the teen picked her spot, grabbed her bag and tiny knife and dove in.

The water was like a blast of cold but her body quickly adjusted and she moved through the water with a fluid like grace. This was what she was born to do, to swim. She was like a fish in the water, her legs carrying her swiftly to her destination. She no longer felt the cold and she blinked a couple of times as she reached one of the cliff bases that continued as far downwards as it did up. She spotted an oyster and grabbed her knife from her pouch and began the process of prying it from the base of the wall. She could hold her breath for no longer than 7 minutes right now but she had worked very hard to get to that point but that was more than enough time to work a spot, scope out a potential location, surface and dive down again.

After finding a couple she figured she'd leave any that were there so they didn't farm out the entire area. She looked around for her next target and swam to the surface and took in a breath of air after exhaling. Rukbart was now present on the horizon and the water reflected the colors. This was a beautiful morning indeed. She looked around to make sure everything was in order and seeing that it was, she dove once more and headed towards the spot she had pinpointed before she came up for breath.

"Well, I'm sure it's well deserved." She said aloud to Killa at her comment. Her attention turned to Vosin then.

She smiled and nodded. "He sure did, must have had too much Klah last night." Her voice held a bit of laughter to it as she spoke and she prepared herself for the jump between. This was going to be fun. 'Alright Mine, show me where to go." Reciproth had been there many times before but still, he needed to go where his rider intended him to go, not where he intended them to go. 'I'm sending it now. Let's go.' She imagined the hold that rested by the docks on the sea and within a flash of cold nothingness that always seemed to last forever, they were there. The smell of the sea was strong and hit her in the face with it's tangy scent and she couldn't help but breath in deep and throw her hands out to her sides. Yes, this was the life.

'This way mine.' He said motioning with his elegant head towards the sea before them. 'Isn't the hold down there though?' She asked looking below them, making sure that she wasn't mistaken. 'Well yes, but who we need isn't there. They're over that way.' "Reciproth wants us to go that way, what do you say Vos?" She figured she'd get some input from the Gold Rider on what they wanted. Do you not agree Killakeeth. Over that way? It was just something they knew in their gut, Dragons always knew.

I'm not getting the quotes, my name is spelled wrong.

Now that she was here, she just wanted to lounge on the pristine sand and be lazy. Nothing said they had to scurry home after they searched the available children. Vosin decided she was going to enjoy a day at the beach after they'd finished their search. That at least would give the prospective candidates time to talk to their parents and masters before making their choice. She was directing her dragon to glide toward the hold. There was already some commotion as people noticed the dragons in the sky.

"What?" Startled she pulled Killa out of her leisurely glide down. Vosin squinted in the direction pointed. "That way? What say you Killa?" It really was the dragons who made the choice, so it was best to consult with the experts. Who could possibly be out on the ocean this early?

Of course it is, the gold said graciously.

Killakeeth rumbled disgruntled as her elegant glide was thrown out. She turned her head to look in that direction. The dragon took a moment before replying. I do not want to select a candidate without seeing them up close first. The choice was firm. She continued her glide down to the waiting crowd. Sorry Reciproth. If you want to go check out your hunch you may. I'm sure they'll show up in the hold soon enough if we wait as my rider is planning on. She teased her rider for her lazy thoughts. Killa moved to settle her even larger bulk in a wide open space.

The teen took several deep breaths in preparation to her dive. When she was ready, she went down kicking strongly. The best oysters were down far, and the longer she could stay down on one breath the more she could harvest. Obviously, they didn't want to harvest ones that were too small or too many from one place. Banashe pried three oysters off the rocks. She glanced around to note the locations of other good choices, and swam for the surface. Five more times she dove down and gathered more oysters. Depositing her last catch in the waiting hands of a crewmember, Banashe clung to the side of the boat as she looked for her sister.

"Oi!" She called to get Octavia's attention. "Got enough for now?" Breakfast before sunup was wearing very thin by now. She was ready to get something to eat. The teen pulled herself up out of the water. She shook her hair out and grabbed a towel to dry off a bit as she waited for her sister to climb out.

After a couple of more trips she resurfaced and tread water for a few moments looking around the area. These type of moments were what she lived for, they were what she could relax to her fullest. She turned to look towards her sister and gave a thumbs up and swam over towards the ship. She pulled herself out of the water and joined her sister and the rest of the crew on deck. She wrung out her hair and cloths the best she could and then snatched up a towel to do the rest. "Oh yes, I got quite a few. Ready to head back and eat?" She was staring to get hungry and wanted some warm cereal.

'There you go Reciproth, we should just stay here for the time being and wait. Besides, they won't be going anywhere.' She said to him as they started their descent upon the hold. She wondered when the last time a dragon and rider had come to the area, probably a while since there was so much excitement going on with their arrival. 'I still would like to go see the water later. Besides, we can go water jumping if you like.' Oh yes, he knew how to woo her, so to speak.

He looked over at the gold and thrummed with a chuckle. No, it's alright. My rider wishes to stay and wait as well. He rarely argued with his rider and since it seemed to be the group consensus he figured they would just wait the future candidates out. Besides, there seemed to be a bit going on here.

Assuming Killa is already out of sight and Reciproth went toward the ocean a bit. XD

Vos waited for the gold to settle and fold her wings. She gave a fond slap as she viewed the people gathering. Her eyes targeting those within candidate age. Some were here, lurking on the edges or peering between adults. Soon a man stepped forward, clearly the Lord of the hold. Vos slipped down with practiced ease and strolled toward him.

"Greeting from Trine Weyr. I'm Vosin of Killakeeth, and that is Naressa of Reciproth. We are on Search as Killakeeth is gravid with a clutch." She pitched her voice loud enough to be heard by those nearest them. "Will you grant us the hospitality of your Hold, sir?"

On the ground, she was as regal and impressive as anyone could have wanted her. Killa thoroughly enjoyed the attention lavished upon them. Mindful of her duties, she paid particular attention to those who might be suitable for the Weyr. She could feel the hope of the kids for her favor as her rider stated their purpose. I had hoped for a better selection, she commented to the blue privately.

Banashe smirked. "I thought maybe you'd found the motherload and hadn't told me you were down so long." She stretched out to soak in the sun and dry off in the early morning rays. It was thus that she was in the perfect position to spot the sunlight glinting off a pair of blue wings. "Oi! Lookie there. Some dragonrider came to visit the hold." She shaded her eyes. Dragons could be interesting. "Let's go and see what their about. And breakfast of course." Banashe came up off the bench swiftly. "Alright! Let's pack up and get our butts home!" She helped the crew packing their catch and supplies away, then set the sail to catch the wind.
