Freshmen Quest: Cleaning Day

Well it seems like you were the lucky person who was elected to do cleaning duty! Fear not though, because there are other people likely doing the same job as you elsewhere in different rooms. Living in the university is great being as the dorms are home base, so more room... but also means more to clean. Keeping things tidy and clean is not only safer but healthier in the long run!

How messy was it? Roll 1d4 and RP your response!

1- Oh man did a nuclear bomb go off in here?
2- Someone seems to be cleaning up after themselves, shouldn't require much effort.
3- Was that a spider i just saw???? Gross!
4- Seems lived in, but still moderately nasty.

How well did you do cleaning wise? Roll 1d4 and RP your response!

1- Too gross, i did a quick job and got out of there.
2- I did the best i could, but i refuse to clean the floors.... or walls.
3- I took out the trash, good enough right?
4- You could eat off my floors and need sunglasses to even see inside how perfectly clean it now is.

Cleaning the bathrooms weren't Dylan's idea of a good time, but it was a necessary chore. He could only hope that it wouldn't be too bad this time, but until he actually opened the door, he wouldn't know just how much work would be needed.

He didn't want to open the door.

Still, it must be done, and Dylan took a deep breath before opening the door. It was a mess. What had people been doing in the bathroom? How on earth had it gotten this dirty?

He suspected that it had to do with people slacking off, but Dylan couldn't blame them. He didn't really want to clean this either.

[Cleaning time]

This was going to take a while, and Dylan really didn't want to even touch the walls. Maybe he wouldn't. Maybe he would just leave it for later. He could always come back later that night and finish up. Maybe somebody else would even get around to doing it before he had a chance to come back.

That might work.

He grinned, and then got to scrubbing. The toilets were practically the cleanest thing in the room and he started with them. There was only one that needed to have a plunger taken to it, and Dylan wondered if anyone would pay attention if he put up signs saying "Please make sure that all of your poop has flushed away before you leave the bathroom." Probably not. They probably wouldn't even be able to be read in the low light of the room, so unless he found some glow in the dark paint, it wouldn't be worth it even to bother.

And if they did find glow in the dark paint, there was probably a million better things to do with it. Important things.

He finished plunging the toilet, and then held his breath as he flushed it. It swirled around, and then, thankfully, went down. No more clogs for the moment. It didn't take him much longer to finish the toilets, and then he moved on to emptying the trashcans.

Another thing that didn't take that long.

The floor was littered with stuff, things that Dylan didn't really want to look at closely. It was also sticky. He would sweep, but like the walls, maybe he could get away with not doing it. S'not like anyone's going to notice, and it'd likely just end up getting sticky again. He didn't even want to think about how that happened, so instead, he took a quick detour to grab a broom.

There were always a couple in the closet, and he grabbed the first one that he saw before heading back to the bathroom. Once he was done sweeping, that'd probably be clean enough. He had done the important part, the toilets, and he knew that those were often skimped on. His not scrubbing the floors were likely to not even be noticed with how clean the toilets were.

Back in the bathroom, he began to sweep, starting in the stalls and then moving into the area by the sinks. He had a decent sized pile by the time he was done, and he swept it into the dustpan before tossing it into the trash. Not too bad.

It wasn't so clean that he'd be willing to eat off of it, but it certainly wasn't that dirty anymore.
