It had been a quiet-ish evening so far, with seemingly hardly a soul about - which was something that was kind of an oddity given that this was Destiny City.
One of those that was out and about appeared - on the face of it - to be a small cat, light from the odd street light here and there glinting off metal that appeared to adorn its tail and from what appeared on closer glance to be some sort of bracelet of beads around one of its front paws.
As it happened Liryn was out making his rounds, wandering about the alleyways behind quiet shops in search of discarded bits and bobs that could potentially be used for projects.
Or at least he had been up until the point where he had picked up on the flare of an aura, the aura a senshi one by the feel of it and relatively nearby.frayedflower hope this works for the promised start Hana - let me know if I need to change anything

Quiet nights still pissed Eurydike off. You'd think after everything with Cinnabar, an uneventful night would be sort of a relief. Not the case, not at all - yes he was being more cautious, yes he was aware of the danger this kind of thing actually put him into, yeah yeah yeah. But he knew he couldn't just up and drop off, so he was trying to make the best of it. Hunt some youma. Meet some more senshi or who ******** ever else wasn't trying to kill him. Try and learn a little more about distinguishing powers from each other beyond 'this one's good' and 'this one's bad' so he didn't walk into another ******** situation like that.
The fact of the matter was, he was still a man very much running on parsing out little bits of his time, already stretched way too thin, and when that time was wasted, it was just as frustrating as it'd ever been. He didn't need to go off half-cocked and get himself killed, ******** no, but he wanted this to be worth the effort.
So when he sensed a power signature, however small it was, especially on such a quiet night... he fell back onto old habits a little and went for it, finding himself in a quieter still part of down, wandering down an alleyway with his nose wrinkled at the smell of too ripe garbage.
"Yooooo~ anyone ********' here?"

Auras were always worth investigating - particularly when they were nearby - however as it happened Liryn hadn't had to put too much effort into trying to track this particular one down as it appeared to be heading in his general direction.
He came across the source as he padded down an alleyway with an overly ripe rubbish bin, tabby paws skirting the bits of rubbish that overflowed from the bin in a pongy mess in order to make his way further down.
It was a senshi, light from the only lit street light glinting off the pink and white of his gloves and the head band resting atop dark-red tipped strands of hair.
He paused for a moment as the other called out asking whether anyone was there, before padding into the pool of light from the streetlight as he called out cheerfully "Well I'm here."frayedflower sorry to have taken so long with this Hana and I should be able to get a tag up for our other rp soon

There, a voice, a shadow moving into the light, and -
Eurydike kind of just stared for a second before he sighed, slipping his fingers through his hair. "Ah, so you're one of those ********' talkin' laser shootin' cats, " he murmured, taking a step closer in spite of himself.
Who could blame him for being a little cautious though, seriously? The first time he'd met a cat it'd been New Year's. Then he'd come across Amber, gotten awoken as a senshi, and hadn't been her since. Like, he knew cats were important to them and all, but he hadn't had a single ******** encounter to a cat that didn't like - explode into a typhoon of chaos and fighting or lead to some massive life changing bullshit.
Even if he didn't sense anything else. So that was probably good. But like What the ******** was he actually supposed to casually say to a ******** cat anyway?
"Well, uh. Hi. S'up?"

"Well the kitty beam is kind of more like a last resort" Liryn admitted cheerfully as he watched the senshi take a step in his direction. "But yes I can talk as well.. Well as well as most people."
The senshi didn't seem like he was going to cross the rest of the distance between them any time soon and so Liryn took it upon himself to be the one to do, waiting until he was within almost hand distance before continuing cheerfully "It seems kind of quiet and so nothing much to be honest - but it's nice to meet you."
He looked up with his purplish eyes as he added "I'm Liryn by the way" he paused in expectant silence as he waited for a return name.

So at least that confirmed there was nothing crazy going down, which was a nice change of pace. But that sort of left him confronting the reality of he was just casually chatting with a talking cat, which you'd think would get less weird after awhile with all the identity swapping and demon women with tails but -
Nope. Nope, not really. Still ******** weird.
"Liryn." He'd remember, although inevitably a nickname would come down the pipeline. They tended to. With a bit of a begrudging sigh, the senshi squatted down, at least thinking it was probably better to be - not totally towering over the little furball. "I'm Sailor Eurydike, the senshi of salt. No pepper, though. Gotta find another guy to balance out the flavor profile, sad to say."

It was pretty nice of the senshi to squat down so as to be more on eye level as it meant that he didn't have to tilt his head quite as much and whilst Liryn heard the somewhat grumpyish sigh that went along with the action he didn't comment on it.
"Nice to meet you Eurydike" his voice continued to be cheerful as he spoke. "I can't say that I've met a senshi of pepper myself." because pepper wasn't a sphere he'd come across amongst the senshi that he'd met in his wanderings. His voice turned thoughtful "But then again there's quite a few senshi that I've yet to meet" and whilst he hadn't come across a senshi of pepper that wasn't to say that there wasn't one out there. "But salt sounds like a pretty neat sphere. What does your magic do?"

Was this cat talking like he hadn't just made a stupid joke? Could that have been more obvious, come on, the last thing he wanted to do was explain his own lame ******** joke and - let it go Eurydike. He was asking about magic now.
At least that was something he knew.
"I can make a circle of salt an' it keeps people from gettin' their asses kicked for a bit, " Eurydike droned, far as he could tell anyone, "No clue how long it lasts. I'm pretty sure I can protect myself too, but uh, last time I tried that I was kinda already in the middle of gettin' my a** handed to me, so - y'know. That happened."
He shrugged in a non-committal way. "So it's not bad magic or nothin', it's come in handy an' all, but it sorta sucks when I'm kind of used to punching my way outta s**t."

Liryn had indeed been talking as if Eurydike had not just made a joke - stupid or otherwise - as the tabby bobtail had thought that the other had been serious.
And he'd meant it when he'd said that there was a bunch of senshi out there that he had yet to meet.
His ears pricked up as Eurydike mentioned his magic, his purple eyes musing "That sounds like a pretty cool piece of supportive magic and a neat way to prevent someone from being youma chow." He tilted his head, his cheerful voice half musing as he continued "By the way have you ever visited your home world?"

"Hope so, " and it had done some good, especially for Tolliver - and for that Eurydike was grateful - although when it'd come down to trying to cast it against Cinnabar, it hadn't done a whole lot to save himself from becoming youma chow, now had it? He scratched idly at the scars on his cheek with a frown.
But then, Liryn effectively distracted by with the bombshell. "Huh? - homeworld?" Because reading the primer had been kind of a grinding ordeal to him, well - "Whaddya mean?"

"Yes home world." Liryn said and his voice was matter of fact, "It's where you get your senshi name from and you can get to it by using your phone."
His gaze sharpened slightly as something about the tone of Eurydike's voice registered and he tilted his head slightly. "Hasn't anyone told you about them?" His cheerful voice was curious.

"Whoa whoa whoa, hold up a second - "
Eurydike held a hand up in the hand and frowned, deep lines etching easily across his face. Some of them long-etched lines of worry. "Are we talkin' like another dimension type world, or like - an up there world?" and he gestured vaguely at the sky. "'Cause uh, either one sounds a little ********' nutty. Just sayin'. Unless it's some digital mumbo-jumbo bullshit, " because who the ******** even knew what computers did today.
As for his name - "I thought it just came from some douche who thought he had a great sense of humor." Eurydike. Seriously.
Then he rocked back on his heels, his nose wrinkling. "I've met all of two cats, man. One shot a laser at someone an' the other threw a stick at me to keep monster dogs from eatin' her. S'about all I got."

ILiryn paused obligatorily at Eurydike's request for him to hold up.
"It's an up there world" he said. His purplish eyes looked thoughtful as the other mentioned only meeting a couple of mauvians and a part of him couldn't help but wonder if that was all that the senshi had managed to run into.
"There's some information about home worlds in the primer on the phone" he said "And whilst I'm not sure how useful it is - it's information."
A brief pause "But they are definitely real and in space" another pause "Although I guess that Knight Wonders aren't necessarily in space because there are Earth Knights..."
Liryn's voice trailed off as he realised he was getting off topic "I can show you the primer section if you want and I can tell you the mechanics and I guess now is probably a good point to mention that senshi can also visit the Moon."

Eurydike's cheeks burned hot at the mention of the primer, and he coughed, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Yeah. Well. The primer didn't ********' help me much, so." Less that it wasn't helpful and more that he was having a hell of a time actually reading it - it was a lot harder than expected to sit down somewhere safely and ******** get through all that text without drawing attention to himself. He was no fast reader by any ******** stretch of imagination, so...
"Hey, instead of tellin' me to do somethin' I could do by my ********' self any given night, can you just explain the planet thing to me with, like, I don't know - words an' s**t?" Eurydike probably sounded cranky about it. He didn't really mean to, but it just sort of popped right out.
Also, the moon? Seriously? Hey mom, fancy that, looks like I can be a ********' astronaut after all. "Wait so why would I go to the moon though, like unless senshi get like, ********' magic bubble helmets, wouldn't my ********' head sorta pop off or somethin'?"

Okay well perhaps that was a 'no; to his offer to show Eurydike the primer, Liryn deduced.
He wasn't going to let himself be put off by the other's cranky response though - after all he had come across grumpy people before and Eurydike did seem interested despite the grumpiness...
Or at least he was assuming that other was interested giving that he was asking him to explain the whole space travel thing.
"Sure" he agreed. "Travel to the home world is done using the senshi phone. I'm not sure which version of the senshi phone you have but with the latest version you pretty much need to just select the homeworld app and concentrate" he considered it for a moment before admitting "At least Athene always looks like he's super concentrating when he goes to Athene but I can't really say if the concentrating is a home world travel thing or an Athene thing because I can't do the space travel thing on my own."
He paused to lick at a paw somewhat dejectedly because if space travel was a thing that he could do on his own then he would totally be exploring allll the places, but he looked back over at Eurydike at the other's comment about the Moon "Some like to go to the Moon because it's a place where Chaos can't go. You can get there by using the senshi phone too - there's an app on the latest version of the phone for it but otherwise you need a Moon pearl."
He licked at his paw again before adding "You can only go to the Moon on the day of the full moon and the day immediately before and after though."
