My classroom, unlike the other teachers, has a metallic and hard plastic, futuristic vibe set to it. My sister made me get this one, you see, but regardless. The chairs and desks can sink into the floor for usage of the large space, and everything is coated in a special retardant to all of the elements. I made it myself so it will never fail. The large viewing screen is controlled by soundwaves and only listens to me unless I relinquish control to one of the students. The class has natural properties embedded in every crevice to make certain users able to have their elements on hand and will not need an outside source.

Julianna Rozaliya
The Volatile Maiden

****************

Julianna slowly walked into the classroom, looking back and forth in the room and humming softly. "Ah... This place looks rather advanced... At least it's not an antiquated classroom..." She wanders around the classroom, idly looking about until finally sitting at a desk near a window, yawning widely. She took a cigarette from her pocket and placed it between her lips, striking a match and lighting it. She got a small cup half full of water and gently tapped her ashes into it, closing her eyes softly and exhaling towards the window. 'Wonder what I'll even learn in a place like this...' Julianna dully stared out the window, a wistful look in her eyes as she smoked. 'Not anything directly useful, probably...' She took another deep breath and looked to her hands, crackling with static. 'I'll still die, and there's nothing that learning will solve...'

Almost on queue, she lurched over and groaned, clutching her chest and gasping. She stayed like that for roughly 30 seconds before straightening herself up, sweating a little. "They're coming more frequently..." She looked back to her hand and took another deep breath, exhaling slowly and putting out the cigarette in the cup of water. "Damn that girl for making me feel like I didn't have to worry anymore..." Julianna laid her head down on the desk, sighing softly. 'Sleep away your troubles... With luck, you wont ever wake up...' Julianna slowly closed her eyes and yawned, lightly snoozing on the desk. At least, in her mind, she was in the place she needed to be anyways. They likely wouldn't allow her to skip, either...

Name: Kulden Yaiba Age: 17 Aura: Elemental Ice Team: Taurus

After a little searching, Kulden found his class room. As he approached he heard what sounded like choking. Instinctively he began to hurry towards the source. Turning the corner into the classroom he was met with a nearly empty room. Only one person was sitting in a desk at the far side near the windows. She had just put her head down on the desk right as he entered. What ever happened with the gasping he heard seemed to be over now. Although he was curious about what took place, he decided not pry. He learned that it wasn't good to be nosy to random people in public. Ignoring the girl for the time being, he slowly and quietly made his way over to one of the desks away from the window. He sat himself down in the middle of the row as he preferred not being in the far back nor in the very front. Being here early was nice sense he was able to claim his seat. The young man got comfortable in his seat before he started to look at the classroom itself. This place was so strange to him. It was very futuristic to the point were it confused him. The truth was that he had never used such advanced tech in his life. He arched over placing his elbows on the desk and rested his chin on his crossed hands. Kulden let out a soft hum as he knew he would have to learn how to use it during his time here. He had never been one for technology. They never saw eye to eye, or eye to screen in this case.

It was just then that a scent hit him. Kulden's nostrils flared up for a second instantly recognizing the smell. His face showed annoyance at smell of a cigarette. He peered out of the corner of his eye towards the other girl in the room. Spotting a cup of water on her desk he noticed the cigarette in it. She was the source of this foul air. A small groan of disgust managed to escape before he looked back to the front of the room. "It will fade eventually." He whispered to himself. Although he knew the smell would dissipate he still wasn't happy to be dealing with it now.

Emil crept over to the classroom, peeking out to see how many people were in the class. So far... Only two, and no teacher- He did a double take when he saw one of his own team members. He hide outside of the hallway quickly, and started to sweat. 'It's... It's that scary girl from my team! Oh no...' he thought to himself. Everything looked so cold and intimidating in there now that she was there. Well... Actually it looked that way to begin with, but it was even more now! He looked inside again and gulped. 'Now or never...' he thought before going inside. He sighed with relief when he saw that Julianna was asleep, or at least trying. With any luck no one will notice him! He held his nose when the cigarette smell hit him, but made it to a seat where he hide his head in. Mission complete!

"Why couldn't the lifeguard save the hippie?"

"Where do skunks go to pray?"

Cory was a little disappointed that no one other than Layla stayed to chat with him after he fixed the lights, but she seemed rather tired herself so he didn't want to keep her. Instead he had made breakfast, toast with strawberry jam, and went back to his room to feed Stevie. She was put out that Kulden had left so promptly after she finally got his attention, but with food in front of her she soon forgot. After the dog ate she rolled over onto her side and fell asleep, so Cory made up his tool belt with whatever he may need throughout the day. One chunk of hard earth, a poplar tree seed, flashlights and, spray bottle filled with clean water and a notepad and pen. A weird combination, for sure, but if he was going to learn about his elements, which he had gathered was what he had given his school sheet, he'd had no idea what he required. No books, rulers, pencils or pens, no notepads or anything. He took the latter on his own volition, as he always liked to make plans on paper before he set it into action.

The curly haired boy let out a long, low whistle as he entered the classroom, seeing much higher tech than he had ever had his hands on. Tech and mechanics weren't the same but he had an equal interest in both, even if the latter was the only thing he could really work with. He saw Kulden was one of his very own classmates and he grinned, dropping an extra bag on the desk next to his teammate. "I'm guessing I know what this means, Mr. Elemental~" He hummed happily, pretending to play coy. He leaned over his own desk to check how the computers were plugged in, but he got distracted by the cooling smell of cigarette smoke. Instead of acting revolted her stopped, frowned, and took a long sniff to try and figure out if they were any good or not. Was the teacher nearby? Did she smoke? Kulden's face said he obviously wouldn't have appreciated it, but Cory himself didn't really mind. His mom smoked off and on, as did most of his older relatives. Either cigars or good cigarettes; they could never stand the smell of the cheap stuff. Finally he looked around to where it might be coming from, and saw a girl who was a good five inches taller than him, which he could tell even though she was sitting down and hunched over. Passed her, there was a boy- no, girl? Boy? Cory couldn't tell, but whatever they identified as, they were sitting farther off. He grinned wider and waved, seeing them looking rather nervous around the others. The girl however, caught his attention again. She looked like she had had recent pain, and Cory wondered if she had had jetlag like he did. He took out a small bottle of headache relief, caffeine included, and walked over to her. He crouched down and rested his arms on her desk across from her, holding the medicine bottle slightly off the table. "Excuse me, miss?" He called in a rather low, though singsong voice. His hair was a ragged mess from his deep, restless sleep and his panic earlier in the evening of the night before, but he hadn't seen it much at all or even thought about it. His hair was his hair; it curly like his mother's. "Couldn't help but notice; are you tired? A headache?" He asked, raising the bottle ever so slightly away from the edge to indicate what he was offering. She looked angry even though she was trying to rest, but Cory didn't mind all that much.

"What do you call a belt made out of watches?"

"Awesome, that's what you call it."

Joanne's surely form walked down the hallways without much fret over lost time. She was late on her first day, though she without a doubt thought it was understandable. She had been teaching another student that was in her class how to further her ability, and thus would have been late since that took so much of her time. The student had been a fast learner, which the teacher rather hoped the rest of her class would be, yet she had her doubts. She always had her doubts.

Walking into her class, she started softly by stopping in the door and looking around. She had forgotten how futuristic it looked, and remembered Nanie said something about changing it more to her likings. Granted, she was her sister, and damn did she know her, but for crying out loud. Why was everything so high tech? Well, Joanne thought as she walked into the room and stood before her blank, and see-through viewing screen, it isn't like I do not like this.

She looked out at all her students, some still missing, and cast her icy gaze around them. At least one decided to speak to a student, as he seemed to be trying to cheer her up. No doubt it was the pitiful excuse for a girl named Julianna, who probably wouldn't take the boy's goodwill at face value. Joanne was in no mood to teach someone so blatantly useless, and instead slid her eyes over to the boy known as Kulden and Emil. Emil had promise, but the undisclosed rage hiding beneath him cast a mask of uncaring across Joanne's face as she watched him. He was small, weak, yet could kill a man at any moment just because his petty feelings were hurt. Furthermore, the boy seemed to be scared of Julianna, which was simply ridiculous because she was on his team.

She rather hoped this would be her only members arriving seeing as she simply did not want to teach anyone else, and the teacher lifted her hand in front of her slightly. Her palm closed slowly, in the direction of Julianna and Cory, and suddenly the smell all around the room suddenly disappeared.

"There are no wind users in my class," she began, looking to everyone of them with her earphones blaring, "so I do not expect you to learn this. However, the element of ice can disrupt the air and cause such an acrid smell to dissipate. Furthermore, there is no smoking in my class."

Joanne flicked her index and middle finger toward the glass of water and cigarette, causing it to fly from the side of the table and towards her. Catching it, she set it beside her on her desk, and went back to looking to her students.

"I am late because I was teaching another member of this class," she said, her arms crossed after relocating her glasses. Joanne didn't understand the complexity of apologizing. "We have much to learn for our first day. Are there any questions to begin?"

Posting order means little now if you are talking to the teacher. Teachers will respond after every post that indicates them, therefore you do not have to follow a posting order- though two questions can be asked from two different people for the teacher to answer, and she will wait for her students to ask. Remember that this afternoon block lasts two weeks, so you will have more than enough time for your first day!

Julianna mumbled as Cory's soft speech gently nudged her awake, rubbing her eyes. "Unnnghh... What time is it?" She looked up to the clock and idly noticed that she'd fully slept two hours in the classroom. She leaned back and stretched, reaching into her pocket and grabbing her cigarettes, but as it was between her lips, she stopped and looked around, noticing the people looking at her with disgusted glances. 'What... What the ******** do they want?' Her eyes snapped back to Cory as he mentioned a headache, frowning softly. "I... It isn't that kind of problem. Although if I had a headache it would just make everything else worse, I suppose..." Snatching the bottle, she downs four of the pills without looking at it and sighs, placing on the desk for him to grab. "Thanks, I suppose..."

She looked idly to the side at Emil as she pocketed her cigarette without lighting it. 'Huh... That kid again... Wonder what he can do.' She leans back, letting out a small gasp of pain as static coursed across her frame, causing her to lean back in and clutch at her chest for a second. 'No powers today... Glorious...' She points to the desk next to her, but stops before speaking as what Joanne had fully said registered in her head, making her wince. 'Like I give a s**t what this woman has to say. Nothing she could possibly teach me will help... S'pose I'll wait a while to smoke, then.' She turns back to Cory and crosses her arms. "Take a seat. You might be called on for things. I dunno."

She closed her eyes as she sat up, sighing softly. 'Damn it, why did I have to wake up? And then there's this b***h who will no doubt want private lessons or whatever.' She rubs her temples, mumbling incoherently. 'God, what I wouldn't do for some alcohol right now. I need this pain numbed somehow. Every day it gets just a little sharper.' She then giggles to herself and smiles. 'Wonder what it would be like if I just died in class? Teach probably wouldn't care, but...' She peers over to Cory and Emil for a split second, smiling rather cutely despite her morbid thoughts. '... Maybe their reactions would be cute...'

Rushing into the classroom was a red headed female who seemed a little bit out of breath from the frantic search of her appropriate classroom. After her little private lesson with the teacher, she had to sprint back to her dorm and change into a dry set of clothes. Now in her preferable attire - dark jeans and a plain white shirt with German words plastered in the front, she surveyed the room of students and the familiar teacher. "Sorry if I'm a little bit late." Alesandra confronted the class which was followed with a slight bow to Miss Joanne in an apologetic manner. Now with that out of the way, she turned her attention back to the available seats she could pick from.

It seemed that the white haired girl and curly haired male were friends, she could always join in on those two and sit with them, but there were other options. Her eyes continued to scan the room as they rested on a student who had their head down - she couldn't really see making conversation with him. The only two options left was to either sit alone or become acquainted with the other lone male. Biting her lip while trying to come to a conclusion on where she would sit, she finally let out a light sigh before making her way to the middle of the classroom and seating herself in the desk next to the brown haired male. Alesandra rested her arms on the desk top while glancing at the male every now and then, deciding on how she would introduce herself. However, before finding a way to spark a conversation, she looked to the teacher who stayed silently, appearing as if she was expecting something from her students. It was then that it occurred to her that she had asked the class if they had any questions themselves to kick off the first day, luckily for her, she rushed in on time to catch that part. Alesandra turned her head to the left, then to the right, seeing if any of her other fellow classmates wanted to ask a question. Seeing that no one was going for it, she raised her hand before speaking.
"Will we be going over the basics, or are we jumping right into the advanced material?"

Name: Kulden Yaiba Age: 17 Aura: Elemental Ice Team: Taurus
└╨┘

While waiting for the class to begin Kulden was growing a bit bored of all things. Out of his lack of interest in the room itself he started taking notice to his body, his hands specifically. He peered down at one of them as they felt a bit stiff. Resting his elbows on the desk, he then took each hand and started popping each bone in his fingers. It was a casual thing he did when he had little to do. Though being focused on his little habit he wasn't paying attention to those entering the room. When a bag landed on his desk the young man's eyes immediately shot upward to the culprit. To his surprise it was actually some one he knew, and wasn't expecting at all. "Indeed you caught me." He replied in a rather stoic tone if anything. It wasn't meant to sound cold, but he couldn't help it. This was just the way he was and most people saw him as harsh for it. The truth was he was actually glad to see a familiar face. Plus it did provide a little bit of helpful info. Knowing that Cory was an elemental was quite interesting. Though it begged the question of what kind of elemental? He was curious enough to want to ask, but he went over to the other girl in the room to be friendly. Shrugging he told himself that he would probably see it later as his team mate appeared to be busy.

That was about time that another person enter the room. Kulden looked up to see a woman with black haired go up to the front of the class room. Instantly assumptions told him that this was the teacher they had been waiting on. Although he looked forward for the class something else caught his eye. It was another student clad in green who had taken a seat in front of him. He was more confused of when this person got there. Though his questioning was instantly put to an end as the teacher spoke up. When the mentioning of ice being able to dissipate smell it intrigued Kulden if anything. Just making sure he took in a little whiff of the air. The smell was gone, that quickly. What he mainly knew about ice was for the use of combat and cooling, he had no idea it could have a use like that. Perhaps he didn't really know all the applications of his element yet.

It was just after the teacher literally pulled the glass from the smokers desk from across the room, that another student with red hair arrived. Though after bowing to the teacher she found a a seat next to Kulden. He didn't mind it too much as he actually enjoyed company, even though he wasn't much of a conversationalist. When the teacher asked if the class had any questions, it appeared that everyone was content being silent at first. Though it was the new girl next to him rose her hand quickly to ask one. Would they be going over the basics or go straight into the advanced material. Now that it was brought up, it was something that he was wondering about as well. Pointing a thumb towards the red head he then continued with, "I am with her on this one. As well I am curious, how is this class going to work? Are you going to be working with us individually or with the class as a whole?" He mainly asked as a follow up question.

"Why couldn't the lifeguard save the hippie?"

Cory was slightly confused at the girl's answer, but as she took the pills he offered and put the bottle back on the desk, he grinned and nodded. He was familiar with different kinds of pain, but he had a feeling she wouldn't want to talk about it. You know, especially now that the teacher walked in. An older woman, but she had the kind of face that reminded him of a girl he knew back in America, so he thought she looked rather young. Well, she probably was. Who knew? Cory was evidently excused from the white hair girl's presence, so he tripped back to his seat and sat down as a red haired girl came in. Given what the two of them, the teacher and her, said Cory gathered she was the one that kept the teacher up. He didn't mind, though. It was still the first day, right? The teacher asked for questions, but Cory was probably the least educated on whatever kind of powers he really had, so he kept quiet. Though, the girl almost immediately asked if they were going to do basics and advanced material, and the colour almost drained out of his rather dark face. His mouth opened into a rather confused "O" shape, and he raised his hand just as Kulden spoke up. Cory grimaced, a little hopeful he wouldn't make enemies with what he was about to say. "Look, uh... I don't know if I'm the only one in the whole class, but my Aura, if that's the right name... It's not been very obvious for the better part of my life, y'know? All I know is that I can control some stuff like dirt to maybe brighten up some dying grass, but that's it." He said, a nervous half smile spreading across his mouth. "I don't mind having extra lessons to catch up an' all, but I'm a little worried about slowing everyone down. Is that going to be a problem?" He asked, eyes going absently from his fellow students to finally rest on the teacher, giving a nervous shrug as he finished.

Joanne's dark blue orbs peered around her room as Julianna finally decided to grace them with her presence. The girl came out of her near comatose state and began speaking to the boy next to her, Cory she believed the name was. The white haired girl was looking around the room strangely towards Joanne's students, though she did not give her much mind as the red haired girl from the training pool burst into the room. Her arms were still folded as she watched the girl quickly discern where she should sit, before moving towards the first available seat she could find.

When she bowed, Joanne nodded her head in acknowledgement but did little else. Her optics followed the girl as she finally sat in the middle of class near a few others. Joanne knew all of their names by heart, but knew their abilities even more. It was interesting to peer around the room and connect a face with the ability for once, and as her song changed, she made sure to flick her finger- which looked more like a twitch- to place the new song on repeat.

When the red haired student finally asked a question, one that was actually an intriguing one to answer, Joanne's brow quirked. "I assume everyone here knows the basics already. If they do not, then we will swiftly go over them. Everyone knows the elements, and everyone knows that elements overcome their counterparts. In my class we will be learning how to not die when someone flails a fireball at you, and to accurately use abilities to their strongest potential."

Her steely gaze turned to the ice user, she assumed he was Kulden as well as Cory, and shook her head slowly. "Individuality means nothing to the whole of the class. If one is falling short, then they will be made to stay after class for private lessons or will be treated separately. Cory, this applies to you. This class is mostly filled with water and ice users, though others have control over the other elements. You will be teamed up with your like element and begin controlling it to the best of your abilities. Depending on the level of this class, we will move to the training room to spar against opposing elements, and begin honing those abilities."

She turned behind her and danced her fingers a few inches above the transparent table. Futuristic commands suddenly appeared on the thin glass, and quickly confirmed her orders. The desks suddenly began to sink below them into the ground, firstly allowing the students to raise from them, being covered quickly by another sheet of metallic flooring, and as the teacher turned again she looked to everyone in the class.

"Without the desks in this room it becomes more spacious for us to work. Most of you cannot generate your own abilities yet, therefore special crevices in the wall hold an unquantifiable amount of every element you can think of. You will be pooling your abilities from these sources." She crossed her arms again as her own desk suddenly moved to the far corner of the room. "Whoever thinks they have advanced control over their element, step forward and show me. I do not take words on face value, and require a demonstration of your abilities to see if you will advance or not. If you wish to attack, if that is your speciality, then you may do so. I assure you I will not be harmed."

She crossed her legs expectantly, her eyes turned to her class, and a small smirk appeared on her lips with anticipation. When she breathed out slowly, a small burst of icy breath followed as she waited for the first student to step up to the bat.

****************

After Cory had taken back his pills, Julianna flashed him a weak smile and continued watching Joanne as she spoke. She didn't really care what the rest of them had to say, and she closed her eyes as she stood up from her desk. 'Obviously she's working with us from a group standpoint in class... It's like they've never been in school before...' She crosses her arms and keeps her eyes closed, wincing in pain. 'Guh... It hurts just to stand... Of course this is the first day... What else could go wrong today?'

Just as she thought that, almost on queue, Joanne mentioned displaying abilities and instantly, Julianna cringed internally. 'Oh, of course. How could I forget... Of course she would want to place us in an order by who knows more about their element than others... This could be bad...' She looked around the class again, trying to come up with something that could get her out of it. Now that she thought about it, there was no way she would risk that in front of them. Maybe after class she'd have to fully explain herself, but she'd rather that than risk everyone seeing her shocking herself to death. 'Regardless, that can't happen. May as well attempt it...'

She raised her hand rather politely and looked to Joanne, softening her gaze. "Excuse me, Ma'am... With all due respect, I must decline your offer. I... Can't use my abilities today for reasons I... Can't really explain in front of others..." She paused for a second, then froze. 'Oh, god damn it! That makes it seem like I'm saying I'm better than them, I just don't want to show it!' She cleared her throat and continued. "I mean... I'm not saying I'm capable of anything advanced... I'm just... Letting you know..." Julianna seemed to relax, but internally she seethed at herself. 'Great, why not isolate yourself more? This is why I never talk to people. It's so hard to make it sound sincere...'

Emil was hiding his head in a book, trying to blend in. He didn't want any trouble! He shivered when he felt another person enter into the room. He looked up to see Joanne, and how scary she looked. 'Why do all the girls look scary!?' he thought as he closed his eyes again, and looked down. He could already sense... That this was going to be awful. He heard others making questions and wondered if he should join in. More and more people were coming into class right now, and they were obviously going to be more confident then him. He looked around slowly, his eyes settling on Cory when she mentioned her control on powers. She could control earth? He wanted to ask her something, but his mouth felt dry all of a sudden. So he would just shift his eyes back over to her a couple of times, but since Cory was sitting next to Julianna he didn't look for long. Then Julianna said something that made him just look on his desk like it was the most interesting thing in the world. He was afraid of what the teacher might say to her. Plus... He didn't want anyone looking at him while he did his abilities. 'I mean... I did it in front of Dante but... But that's different! Singing in front of everyone is so... Embarrassing. Plus I have no plants here! Unless you want to count paper... But all of that is dead wood technically... Oh dear... We all have to show each other'. He didn't like this. Not one bit.

Dorian stood before the closed door with a note in his hand. Scrawled on it was his teacher and class. He looked from the note to the placard by the door assuring himself that he had the right location. Due to not giving himself a tour of the school yesterday, he honestly had no idea where anything thing was located. That didn't matter now though because he did end up finding his assigned class. He gripped the handle of the door an pushed it inward as he tucked the note away. Ah, there already seemed to be quite a few people already inside. To his distaste, there was a faint smell of tobacco lingering in the air. His entire presence was heavy and emerald eyes were practically lifeless as they scanned the room. He gave of an air of superiority, one that said no one could reach him. He looked at the teacher and ducked his head somewhat as if he was pardoning himself before taking an available seat without discretion near a small green-haired male. He knew he was late and perhaps he missed a few important things already.

"Why couldn't the lifeguard save the hippie?"

"Where do skunks go to pray?"

Cory grinned and nodded, feeling a bit more relieved than he expected that he wouldn't hold the whole class back just because he had little to no experience. He grabbed his extra bag and slung it over his shoulder as the desks began to descend, moving out of the way as his eyes widened and he stared in wonder. "That's wicked!" He hissed softly, looking back up quickly with a slightly eccentric smile at the teacher. He just had to see if she'd let him fiddle with her classroom. Then, he remembered what she had actually said to him, which took a little bit to stick. Most everyone in class worked with water or ice, huh? He wondered who had what, and who exactly he'd be teamed with if there were only a few who matched with his own abilities. She said the walls had elements inside them, but he wondered how that worked; having a seemingly infinite amount of something in such a small space. He always wondered about things, so of course he did.

No one seemed to step up to the task right away, and Cory wondered if there were more problems than was at first evident, especially when the white haired girl caught the teacher's attention and said what she did. She seemed more nervous than angry all of a sudden, and as usual, Cory was curious. But, she still seemed angry so he didn't want to bother her further, at least not right then. He'd check on her again later, he decided. He gave her a toothy smile, then raised one hand and dug into the bag containing the supplies he thought he should have brought with him. May as well use his own stuff, because he actually what to do with it and could really feel it. "I'll be quick, just a second." He muttered, finally grabbing his materials and pulling them out of his bag with a triumphant "aha!", then held them apart and walked up to the teacher could see. "Other than just moving them around more easily than normal, I can sorta do... Well, this." He said, closing his hand around the rock and using his power to force it into malleable earth. From there, he cupped the new formation and put the tree seed in the middle of it, then cupped those both together as he breathed on it, slowly to provide both carbon dioxide and moisture. In a little less than thirty seconds, the first sign of active life appeared as roots began to form in and around the new earth, and in less than a minute there was a healthy sprout growing out the top of the seed. "Just like that." He said, smiling at his own success before stepping back, then noticing another guy had appeared virtually out of thin air. He gave a half, toothy smirk of goodwill and waved, though looked into his bag as he pulled out a mason's jar and "planted" the new life in water, where it could get as much nutrients from the earth and plenty of water. He placed it by a window, then turned back to the class waiting for others to follow suit, if they would. The new guy was tall, blonde and snobbish, just the sort Cory liked to try to get a laugh out of.

"What do you call a belt made out of watches?"

"Awesome, that's what you call it."
