Linnith gave Gwen a tentative smile and shook his head. “No, I’m fine in these,” he said, indicating the trousers he was wearing and shoved the dress Gwen had dumped into his hands back. He moved away from her before she had a chance to shove the garment back at him. Linnith had not touched another piece of female clothing since that day the boys in his class had attacked him. He winced, slightly, the memory of how it felt when his wing had snapped was still completely fresh in his mind. And the anger his father had shown, not at the boys but at him for wearing a dress in public, had still not died down completely. Linnith had been forbidden from leaving the house and even now he was disobeying his parents. Away on business, Linnith had taken the opportunity to sneak out of the house and visit his friend.
“But Linnnyyyy.” Gwen’s voice broke through Linnith’s thoughts and he blinked as he glanced back up at her. “You always said you liked this one.” She pursed her lips, pouting as she ran a hand over the fabric, smoothing out any wrinkles his shoving might have caused. “I’m sure no one will be there that you know….”
“I said no, Gwen. Please.” The last word was said on a sigh as Linnith’s shoulders sank a fraction. He really did love the dress. The lace, colors and feel of the fabric against his skin. However, he would not wear something like that out in public again. He’d learned his lesson a month ago.
With the argument over, Gwen quickly finished getting ready and they were soon heading out of her house. A small gypsy troupe had set up outside of the city walls and a small festival of sorts was, apparently, happening. As soon as Linnith had stepped into Gwen’s house she’d dragged him to her room and began talking about it. Unable to disappoint his best friend, Linnith had caved and agreed to going. He knew, at least, that he’d be able to stay out late since his parents weren’t due back home for another couple of days.
The music was loud and the air was filled with all kinds of scents. The main one that filled Linnith’s nostrils was that of food. His stomach gave a small rumble and he was just about to open his mouth when Gwen grabbed hold of his hand and tugged him forward. “C’mon, Linny, dance with me?”
Linnith flushed, words stuttering out of his mouth as he tried to wiggle his way out of this. He’d only danced a couple of times in his life and he hadn’t been very good either times. Gwen was persistent, though, and he soon found himself surrounded by other dancers as she began showing him the steps to whatever dance it was that was happening. Time flew by and before he knew it they had danced through three songs. Now, more than before, his stomach demanded food. When he spoke up, Gwen agreed and they weaved their way through the crowd to go off in search of food.

Braith's very slow going wanderings had brought him back to Serenia, one of his favorite places to just lazy about. The scenery was nice, the people were nice, the food was really good, and the beaches were likely some of his favorites! His plans, upon landing, was to find himself a nice, warm spot in the sun, where he'd just lay around for a while. If he was lucky some tasty shellfish would wander into arm's reach, a sure sign they wanted the big Firani to eat them, and other then that he couldn't say he had anything else specific planned. It was more fun to just enjoy his time in Serenia instead of stuffing his time here full of plans. Especially when he knew full well that he'd be unlikely to actually do any of the things he planned, so why fake it? He was on his way toward where his favorite beach was located when something caught his attention, the glorious smell of something being cooked! It was heavy in the air meaning that whatever was going on it had to be nearby. He wouldn't be able to go to the beach but if he stopped now that meant that he would get more food, specially prepared and cooked, and have to do less flying to get to where said food was. In the mind of the Khehora it was a no brainer and soon enough he was touching down on the ground, trotting toward the delicous scents, all but drooling as he went. The walk, though a short one, had him realizing that he was heading toward the city of the two-legs, something that should be alright so long as he approached in a peaceful manner. Not as though he had any desire to stir up trouble. Doing that sort of thing was sure to make it that he was unable to partake in... well, whatever was going on. It had to be something special since he'd been to Serenia multiple times and he didn't recall anything that smelled so magnificent! Upon arrival his eyes went wide, mouth dropping open, as he watched what looked like a party going on in front of him. A bunch of peopled, cooking, dancing, and otherwise having fun. Now this seemed like fun he thought to himself as he started toward where the food was being made. Time to be charming, cute, and get himself something to eat! Tail wagging he moved to approach the nearest of those in charge of the food, doing his best to look as cute as possible for a Khehora.

The amount of choices laid out before them was almost too much for Linnith. It took some time before he finally picked out what he wanted to eat. Gwen followed suit, ordering the same thing he did. When they both had their food they headed for a less crowded place to eat. Just outside of the camp, it seemed someone had set up places to sit and take a breather from the festivities so they made themselves at home at one of the spots. About halfway through their meal, Linnith heard some snickering off to the side. Frowning, he glanced up and physically cringed when he caught sight of the two older boys. “Gwen...we should go…” “What? Why?” Gwen frowned, glancing up when she heard footsteps and the boys moved closer. “Hello Linnith,” one of the boys said as the other one openly sneered at the two of them. “What do you want, Cain?” Linnith’s voice was quiet, almost not there. “You got my little brother into some big trouble.” The boy snorted and cracked his knuckles. “Your brother’s the one that attacked me. He broke my wing.” “Well if you wasn’t some kind of pansy wuss he’d not had to do that.” Linnith looked away, shoulders sinking a fraction as Gwen tensed beside him. “Shut up you stupid bully.” “No one’s talking to you, b***h.” The sound of Cain’s hand making contact with Gwen’s cheek and the yelp that escaped from her was enough to make Linnith move. In an instant he was standing in front of his friend, shoulders squared back and prepared to defend his friend even if it meant getting beat up again (because gods knew he wasn’t good in a physical fight).

Braith was looking over the food that was being made, as well as the attractive people making it, and instantly he knew that he'd made the right choice in landing here. He'd sat down in front of one of the booths, chatting with a rather attractive Orderite woman, when he heard the sound of children's voices argueing nearby. He turned toward the sound, giving them a glance, looked away, then jerked his head back when he heard a rather painful 'SMACK' sound. It wasn't exactly his place to step in... and yet he found himself walking toward the group of children regardless. The pair of larger boys tormenting those smaller then them was bad enough, but to go after a girl as well? That was just going too far if you asked him. Girls were so small, sweet, and cute... and tended to be more willing to share their snacks with him. He didn't really care for the idea of just standing by and doing nothing while that pair went about picking on, and worse hitting, people. He was lazy, extremely so, but he wasn't apathetic. It wasn't even going all that far out of his way to help since they started their one sided battle near to where he'd been standing, trying to charm his way into a free meal. Taking a few steps from where he'd been sitting to where the kids were having their little tussle was something that even Braith could do. Especially if it meant helping the little whelps out of a bind. Shifting as he went from Khehora to hulking Khehorian form he came to stand behind the pair of bullies, looming over them, before he asked in a rumbling tone, "Is there a problem, here?" Best to see this taken care of, swiftly if possible, so that he could get back to his food... and that Orderite cook who was making it. His tail set to lashing behind him in a lazy manner as he waited for the attention of the 'bullies' to turn away from the little ones to turn to Braith himself.

Linnith tensed, gaze flicking up from the boys to the hulking form now behind them. He swallowed, stepping backwards and closer to Gwen — who had composed herself enough to notice the khehorian now in their presence. “Linnith…” The whisper from Gwen was close to Linnith’s ear and he flushed slightly at the shudder it sent through him. “None of your busine…” Cain whirled around, mouth froze open as he came face to stomach with the person in front of him. His eyes traveled up, up, up and he swallowed, wings shaking, as he finally made eye contact with the ‘man’ who had interrupted his taunting fun. “N-no, sir. We were just talking about...uhm…” Cain’s words trailed off, mind going blank for a moment before another one of the boys spoke up. “School.” “School…?” Cain looked confused for a moment before it finally clicked in. “Yeah. Right. School. But we’re done talking now...we’re gonna go.” And with that, Cain was tugging at the other two with him and disappearing into the crowd on what was considered the dance floor. Linnith watched the bullies leave, frowning as he glanced back to the stranger that had helped them. “I uhm…” He chewed on his lip, still completely nervous and not a bit relaxed. Linnith blinked when he felt Gwen move out from behind him and step forward. “Thank you, is what he means to say,” Gwen said as she frowned and rubbed at her cheek lightly. The sting from the slap remained, though it was slowly going away. The red mark from Cain’s hand, however, was still bright and red.

Braith gave a smile when the boy whirled around, sounding so confident at first in his attempts to tell the Khehorian off. It was something that seemed to crumble away almost instantly as the boy instead starred up at him and changed his tone, he and his companions claiming that they were all just chatting about 'school'. Deciding that he would let the blatent lie slide he gave a nod of his head, "Ahhh, I see. School is a good subject, one useful in rousing debates it would seem. Still, one shouldn't get too hands on when it's just a heated conversation about schooling." He said, keeping his tone good natured even though there was a more feral part of him that wanted to pick the bullies up by their scruffs and give them a good toss. He was a guest in this land so he'd behave. The last thing he wanted was to get banished from Serenia because he started to throw their whelps around. As the more aggressive boys went scurrying off, disapearing into the crowd, Braith turned his attention back to those standing before him. Of the two that he'd helped out one of them seemed to be rather quiet, as well as nervous from what Braith could smell on him. The girl however seemed to find her voice. Squatting down so that he was a bit closer to their level Braith gave a smile, "Not a problem. I am not one for one sided fights or males that go around hitting females, just doesn't sit well with me." He said, for a moment wishing he were a Ysali or Peisio, wanting to be able to help to heal the girl but his powers were better used for cooking and fighting, healing wasn't exactly his thing. Giving a thoughtful rumble he asked, "Will you be alright, little birds?" He asked, looking first at the injured girl and then to her very quiet companion. Given that the bullies could be out circling them like scavengers, waiting for another chance to pounce, he didn't feel quite right just leaving the pair alone quite yet. At least not until he was certain that they would be alright.

“My name’s Gwen and this is Linnith,” Gwen said as she stepped back into place beside Linnith. She nudged him with her shoulder and mumbled quietly, “Go on, say thanks.” Linnith gave Gwen a look, as if to ask her if she was crazy before glancing back to the khehorian that had knelt down in front of them. “Thank...you.” The thanks was said quietly as Linnith continued to eye the khehorian. “Why did you do it?” “Linnith…” “What?” Linnith asked as he turned his attention back to his friend. “People don’t usually help me out of the blue.” Gwen frowned, shoulders sagging a fraction. “I do…” Linnith snorted and shook his head. “You’re different, Gwen. You always have been. And I’m glad for it. But...I’m just not used it from others.” He gave a small shrug and glanced back towards the khehorian and tilted his head. “I am grateful. Those three are a lot older than us and I got his brother and a couple of his friends into some big trouble a while back.” Linnith wrinkled his nose as Gwen snorted. “They’re the ones who beat you up and broke your wing. They got themselves into trouble.” “Yes, well, no one else saw it that way. If I hadn’t of been wearing a dress it never would of happened.” Linnith sighed and shook his head. “It doesn’t matter anymore. It’ll never happen again.” His eyes focused in on the khehorian again as he wondered. “I know you don’t know us — and I still don’t understand why you helped — but do you think you could escort us back to my friend’s home? I want to at least make sure she gets back safely.”

Braith's thick tail set to swishing behind him as he listened to the girl as she introduced herself and the boy that was standing with her. He gave a bit of a smile and said, "It's nice to meet the two of you, my name is Braith." He said, patting a clawed hand against his chest as he gave his name. As he looked between the pair he found himself posed with a question that had him giving a thoughtful rumble. 'Why did he do it'? Now there was a good question he thought to himself, opening his mouth to respond... though he clicked it shut again as the two set to chatting between themselves about the situation. From what he gathered the trio were not only bullies but ones who were older then the pair before him? Something that made Braith shake his head a little. He understood that, in the world he was from, that it was a life or death, survival of the fittest sort of thing. Amongst the Orderite though it appeared as though they cared for their young, were careful with them, raised them in safer enviroments, and yet it seemed that these ones were still endangered by the more powerful whelps. It was an interesting learning experience, allowing him to learn a bit more about the Orderites it would seem. Things got even more confusing as it was explained that the one called Linnith had gotten the boys into trouble in a confusing manner. Linnith had worn a dress, the boys beat him up, and that was how he got them in trouble? It seemed to be a round about manner to get people in trouble he thought to himself. As Linnith turned his attention back to Braith the boy was suddenly asking him if he could escort the pair of them back to his friend's house. It wasn't something he'd normally do, especially given that there was an attractive Orderite woman who was going to cook for him... but he couldn't leave the little ones alone. Giving a nod of his head he said, "Of course, little fledglings. Just lead and I will act the part of your scaly escort." He said, giving a smile before he pushed back up to his feet. He'd see the pair home and then return here to enjoy everything that the group of gypsies had to offer!
