Africa has long since left behind the days of impoverished desolation. The continent flourished in the late 3100s, when they discovered massive quantities of natural resources beneath their soil. Not only had they been the lead producer of jewels for many years, providing more than eighty percent of the world's diamonds, but it also ran into both oil as well as a metallic ore that had never been seen before. This metallic ore was lightweight, and yet stronger than titanium. As far as any scientist or geographer knows, the only deposits of this ore on Earth is located in Africa. When this rare, strong, and extremely valuable metal was found, Africa quickly became a gem in the spotlight. With buyers nipping at their heels at all times, Africa prospered greatly, and without the corrupt government that had been stealing from its people for generations, the wealth was properly dispersed among them and the third world status of much of the continent disappeared. As most other Continents, The Ugandan city of Kampala was chosen or its central location, and the B.A.I.T.R Base that was placed there to govern the continent and protect as much of it as possible.
The continent of Africa is rich with natural formations of caves and old relics lost for hundreds of years within the deserts. As such, there are more interesting items to be found in the many markets of this continent, as merchants who wander the desert sands in search of both old and new salvage can come across things that could not be found anywhere else in the world. This city is not backed against an ocean, but there is a massive fresh water lake beside it. Not quite as large as the Lake Ontario that Toronto borders on, but large enough to draw a good source of water for their people. It is said by some that beneath the sands of Africa's desert, there are ruins from the people long past, and even from the same aliens that left the Ark on Earth.
"What do you mean gone?" Talitha questioned as she walked through the hallways of her own home, the white walls giving her a sense of security, a young woman following behind her. The young woman hung her head low as she shrugged her shoulders. "He just left, told us not to tell you..." She mumbled, crossing her thin clothed arms across her chest. Talitha rolled her eyes and glanced behind her, staring at the woman for a moment. The woman was speaking about her father, who often disappeared for days on end. Talitha used to worry whenever they told her he was gone, but this time she had no time to worry. She was on a tight scheduled and she didn't like to be late.
She descended a spiral staircase that lead to the front door and then she checked herself in the mirror. She stood at 5'5, smooth caramel coloured skin and long curly brown hair that was pulled back into a tight pony tail reaching the center of her back. She wore a pair of black spandex tights, a form fitting black V-neck shirt, and a belt with a single holster holding a combat knife. She nodded at herself in the mirror and then pulled a thin black zip-up hoodie from a coat rack beside the door and turned to face the woman. "Don't worry about him, he will come back." She told her, brow raised as she chewed the inside of her cheek. "I will be back later on, just take the day off." The woman bowed her head, thanking her before Talitha opened the front door and stepped out, locking it behind her.
Her home was huge, consisting of three stories. The first floor was the kitchen, training quarters, and living room, while the next two stories were all bedrooms. Talitha gave quite a few people jobs, bringing them in from different countries to work for her and her family as cleaners and cooks. Her father loved foreigners, and they seemed to love him as well. She cursed his recent bad habit of leaving and made her way to the B.A.I.T.R HQ on foot.
It only took her twenty minutes to walk to the B.A.I.T.R HQ, and when she walked in, she was instantly greeted by her comrades. She'd been working for them for quite some time, and she was getting to the point where people remembered her name. "Ah, Talitha! Glad to see you could make it today. If you'd follow me this way please..." An older, dark skinned man who she knew as Jake Cohert smiled as he approached her, dressed in a black suit with whatever hair he had left at the top of his balding head slicked back.
"I wouldn't miss something this important.” Talitha told him with a chuckle, nodding as a greeting to the older man. She enjoyed having him around, he was a very talented man, despite the way he had himself cleaned up, she usually saw him in a black military uniform, but she assumed that he had somewhere important to be after this and she didn’t quite care enough to bother to ask him. She chewed the inside of her cheek, feeling the raw skin against her tongue was quite comforting even though it was one of her bad habits. She followed him straight to what she saw was the Code Core Development Facility. Her heart sped up as she walked through the doors behind him, biting down harder on her cheek. She felt the combat knife in the holster around her waist to comfort herself some more as they approached a group of what looked like doctors to her- but in a place like this she didn’t know what to expect.
“Here she is, you guys can take over from here.” Jake announced, gaining the attention of the group of people in lab coats. She offered them all a smile that was only returned by only one of them. She shifted her weight to her left leg as she waited for them to say something- she sure as hell wasn’t going to say anything until they explained what she would be going through. Her boss had failed to explain this process properly, being very vague about it. He told her to bring her combat knife, and to wear something that she would be comfortable in.
A dark skinned woman stepped forward, “Talitha Eris, correct?” She asked, sizing her up. The woman was at least three inches taller than her, but she was thin and not built like Talitha was. Talitha nodded her head and crossed her arms over her chest. “Yes. I was told to bring my weapon-““Ah, perfect!” The woman interrupted as Talitha pulled her combat knife out of the holster to show her the weapon.
The blade of the weapon was a black metal, with a silver specks that shined when the light hit it a certain angle. The woman snatched the combat knife from her hands, alerting Talitha. “What are you doing?” Talitha snapped quickly, reaching to take it back from the woman. It was her biggest pet peeve when people didn’t ask first. “Quiet. Follow me, I will explain everything to you after.” So Talitha did exactly what she said.
She followed the woman into another room, where there was a machine she didn’t recognize. “This is N.I.C.E, this is what will place the Code Core into you item of choice.” She said, glancing back at Talitha.
She nodded, keeping her arms tightly crossed over her chest. “So, after the machine if finished doing its work, we will be putting you under, and you will be tested from there on. This will determine if you’re qualified for field work.” Talitha nodded again, her mind returning to the memory of her boss saying something about graduating from weapons technician to field work. He told her that her physical tests were extraordinary and that he would like to see her in action. He did mention a test, but nothing more than that.
Talitha had no idea what any of these machines were. She knew what pieces made up a high-impact sniper rifle and even what the bullets were made out of, what caliber the bullet was, but she had no clue what this machine was, only its name. N.I.C.E. The sound it made wasn’t all that nice though, she scrunched her nose up and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet as she watched with the eyes of a curious, hungry cat as the woman put the weapon into the machine and took a step back. She turned back to Talitha and crossed her arms across her chest. “I see you came in your comfortable clothes.” She commented, eyeing her up once more.
“I was told to wear something comfortable.” Talitha said, shaking her head slightly, feeling her hair brush against her back. “It won’t matter what you wear when we put you under.” She snickered, shaking her head. It seemed no matter what Talitha did, this woman would scrutinize her for it. She wasn’t angry with the woman, she was just wondering what made this woman so cynical. Before she knew it, the woman was holding her knife up in front of her face waiting for her to grab her knife. She took the knife gently from the woman and then followed her.
“Are you going to tell me your name?” Talitha asked as the woman spun on her heel and started to walk away from her without saying anything. She followed her regardless of the woman not saying anything. “Dr. Katani.” The woman snapped.
Talitha smiled even though the Doctor couldn’t see her. She followed her into what looked like a surgery room. It was cleaned to the point of shine and there was one single hospital bed in the center of the room with a large machine beside it and restraints attached to the bed. “Alright, climb in.” Dr. Katani patted the bed, alerting Talitha. She gave her a questioning glance but she still got into the bed, laying there while Dr. Katani did up the restraints. She kept her eyes glued to the ceiling, her heart rate speeding up as she started to fiddle her feet inside her sneakers.
She heard Dr. Katani walking around the room, and in the back of her mind, she was freaking out. What was going to happen to her while she was under? She let out a soft sigh,“Dr. Katani?”She called out, lifting her head to see where the doctor was. There was man standing with her at the entrance of the room that Talitha had never seen before. She felt her stomach churn and she rested her head back down. After a couple minutes of listening to their distant whispers, Dr. Katani’s face popped into her vision. “We’re going to put you under now. Just relax, and be ready.” She said.
Before Talitha could say anything, or ask about what was about to happen to her, Dr. Katani placed a mask on her face, administering a sleeping gas to Talitha. Slowly, her vision began to fade, eyelids growing heavy. She shifted in the bed, her last thought being about how uncomfortable the bed was.

Hope it's okay! I look forward to working and plotting with everyone.
As the woman walked into the lab, the associates were all made aware of her presence. As Dr. Katani went through the N.I.C.E system with the girl, there were messages pinging down in the containment facility. Another core needed to be brought up out of its prison. The N.I.C.E system would scan through the woman's blade and it would insert an insanely fine circuitry within it that was specially designed to not only house and trap an A.I. Core, but to also absorb its power and disperse it through the body of the person who it was attached to. The H.A.L.F exam that Talitha would be going through, though she might not know it yet, was life or death. If she failed her exam there was no 'retaking' it. She would die. She would be taken over by the core that she was tested against, and she would be murdered by the B.A.I.T.R organization before she could be fully turned by the thing she was trying to use for power. As they laid her out on the table and got her ready for the test, a man came up from containment, holding a very small vial. He walked up to the table that Talitha lay on and he uncorked the vial, pouring a silver liquid onto her dagger. The liquid immediately flashed into blue light and seemed to absorb itself into the knife before vanishing completely.
As the Mercury soldier arrived within Talitha's dagger, it began to shoot itself directly into her body. The woman, now that she was taking the test, had been properly tethered to her Code Core, and her body was creating circuits within it, like veins that allowed the code of the A.I. to flow through her and empower her--making her more than a regular woman. The Mercury Soldier found its way to the core of this woman--her mind. It was dark and shrouded by a strange black fog--the woman was not yet conscious. She had not yet mentally awoken from being put to sleep, and as the Mercury Soldier stood there, it wandered the dark hallways of her mind, searching for this woman, and hoping that it would find itself a worthy opponent. Perhaps if it crushed her it would be able to wake and escape the facility before it was killed--but the long imprisonment had left it weak...and it knew that it was likely that it would never see the light of day.

Also, just in case you needed to be reminded, or hadn't realized, our line totals get added together, so, as your line count was 91, since I wrote 22 lines, my line count is actually 113. You will add all of your line counts to the last post that was written. This is only done when on a mission with people, or when you are in battle. =]

When Talitha woke up, she felt sick. She inhaled a large breath, shooting up in her bed, turning her head wildly to look around the room. This wasn't the B.A.I.T.R HQ any more, she was laying in her own bed, inside of her own home. She was mildly confused yet, at the same time she knew she wasn't actually at home. With a grunt, she rolled out of bed, dropping to her knees as soon as she got up. With a heaving sigh, she shook her had and put her hand to her forehead. "Damn it... What did they do to me..."She wondered aloud, forcing herself to her feet. She felt her side for her dagger and let out a sigh of relief when she felt the hilt of it in the holster where it belonged. She took cautious steps towards her bedroom door, not enjoying the eerie silence as she pulled the door open, flinching at every creaking sound it made.
"Hello?" She called out into the dark hallway, afraid to step any further into the darkness. It was as if the world bended to her wishes as the lights switched on, illuminating the familiar hallway of her home. Talitha bit her lip and entered the hallway, keeping her hand placed by her weapon as she crept down the hall at a alarming slow speed. What was going on? She wondered to herself, taking a left turn at the end of the hallway, leading herself down the spiral staircase she'd seen probably less then an hour ago.
The sick feeling she had was slowly vanishing, replacing itself with a feeling of everlasting fear. She'd never been so afraid in her own home before, it made her feel uneasy and uncomfortable. Dr. Katani was right, the clothes she wore didn't really matter. When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she paused.
There was something simply not right about this situation, she felt like she was in danger. She continued on her search for whatever it was that made her feel this way, going down the hallway towards the training room. In the eerie silence, she could hear footsteps behind her, and that caused her heart rate and her feet to speed up. She fumbled with the door of the training room and entered it, quietly closing the door as she heard the footsteps pick up pace.
In her real home, it was never this quiet. There was always someone working, or some music playing off in the background. Her father wasn't a big fan of silence, so in her home there was always some sort of sound. Quickly, she jumped behind a punching bag, sucking in her breath as the door swung open. Her body tensed up and she clutched the hilt of her dagger, closing her eyes as she heard the footsteps grow near. She sucked in a breath and whirled around the punching bag, coming face to face with an A.I Core. Fear itself was in front of her. The monster had a black human-like body with glowing red fingertips, a glowing red oval on it's face and its tail was also glowing red.
She took a quick step back and then lunged forward, throwing all of her force into her attack, hoping that it would do some damage to the A.I Core. She jumped back quickly, almost cowering away from the monster and held her dagger out in front of her in a fighting stance.
"So this is the big test, huh?" She grunted, licking her lips as she swallowed her fear down one more time and lunging forward again, swiftly making an attempt to land three more strikes on the monster.

I do hope I did this properly ;a; It took me all day to figure out what I was going to do for it, and finally I was just brain farted it all out at 500am.
The Mercury soldier gazed about the room--looking from side to side to try and gain some sort of bearings. It could not understand this human's mind--blank and shapeless. If this woman was still unconscious, then why was it that she was not visible to the core? Why couldn't it just kill her now and be done with it. A snicker formed across its face as it saw the shifting shadows slowly begin to stabilize, taking solid form and becoming a dimly lit home. It was dark outside the windows, still, but there was enough light throughout the house to see. It began to walk through the labyrinthine home, trying to find its target, though even now that she had awoken and constructed her dream world, the core was having difficulty locating her. There were some creaks coming from the home, and then it began to hear footsteps and doors as well, and the Mercury soldier followed the sounds as well as it could, until it led it directly to the training room. The woman was inside, already, and the Mercury Soldier wondered if it was some kind of trap that she was waiting to spring.
It would take the risk. It slammed the door open and ran into the room, but there was no trap. There was nothing at all but the empty room, but the A.I. could feel the girl here. She was definitely hiding out in this place. As it walked forward it was met by the woman's sudden appearance, jumping out from behind a punching bag and swinging her dagger ferociously toward its head. The Mercury Soldier's reflexes, however, were too strong as it immediately bent backwards, folding its liquid-like body backwards at an inhuman angle so that the blade passed over it without coming close. But the woman was not going to stop there. She made a comment about the 'test' she was taking and the Mercury Soldier smirked to itself, wondering if the woman would prove to be a worthy opponent, or if she would disappoint, and the Core would be sent back to prison, or worse, destroyed completely. It didn't imagine they would risk it surviving if it managed to seize control of her body. The woman lunged forward again, her blade slashing out at its chest, and the Mercury Soldier slammed its hand to meet the woman's arm, knocking the attack aside, but she continued with the momentum and spun on her heel bringing the knife back around towards it again, but the soldier slid to the side, using its hands to again hit the woman's arm and redirect the attack further from its body, though each time the blade seemed to skim close to its body--this woman was quick.
The last attack came in the form of a thrust, but the humanoid core split its body, turning the mass in her torso to liquid and pulling it apart to make a giant hole in the center of its body that the woman stabbed into, effectively missing the core. The Mercury Soldier was not an easy opponent to face off against, and this fledgling baiter would figure that out the hard way. Besides, now it was time for the Core to take the offensive. The Mercury Soldier hopped backwards from the girl, poising itself in a combat stance before it kicked off of the training room floor, darting towards Talitha, cocking back its hand and then unleashing a vicious punch toward the woman's center mass. The core's fingers glowed bright red, and if it successfully landed the hit, it would burn the woman's skin and leave the mark of the core's fist on her body.

Talitha twisted away just in time for the vicious punch of the AI core, swinging her arm round, gripping the knife in reverse now as she used the momentum of her twist to make an attempt at stabbing the back of the AI cores shoulder blade, quickly taking a couple steps back behind it. She stood in a defensive stance and wasted no time in making her second attack, which was a forceful kick to the side of the AI core, potentially knocking it over if it had landed. She continued her assault with a third hit, aiming for the chest of the AI core with her combat knife, making note to keep her distance from the red points on its body, feeling the heat emitting from the hands had clued her in on why this AI core was deadly, and if it landed any hit on her she would be in very big trouble.
This AI core would be the biggest challenge she's ever faced in her life. The fact that it could move it's mass to evade her attacks was a wonder to her, and as she fought it, she tried to find a potential opening to actually killing the thing. She let out a soft sigh, avoiding making a last hit so she could examine what could be the weak points of this AI core. The head seemed to be a weak point, but if she got too close, it could be her own life in danger, there was no way she wanted to get hit by those hands, or even the tail could render her unable to fight. She pursed her lips together, keeping her defensive stance as she kept herself moving, bouncing softly back and forth on her heels, ready to evade any oncoming attacks that it might try to land on her.
Talitha thought of her dad for a moment, realizing that if she lost this battle, perhaps she would never see the man again. She thought of the hurt it might bring him- since losing her mother was already enough to drive the man crazy. The thought had given her more drive in her fighting, she would make it out alive, and come out a B.A.I.T.R agent, and she would thrive off of her win. She never realized how much her life actually meant to her until now, the maids at her home- they would all miss her, or she liked to hope they would miss her. She was nothing short of a sweet heart to them, and she’s heard them say she was a wonderful person to work for before. She then thought of her old co-workers, wondering if they would miss her if she never made it out of this fight.
She wondered if she would even die here today, was this all just an elaborate dream that she would wake up from… She would never know until she defeated this AI core, and that’s what she was going to do.

Pardon me for taking a while to get this up. I only attacked three times in this one. I kind of counted her looking for weaknesses as her attack.
As the Mercury soldier was swinging in to attack the woman, her body twisted quickly, swinging off to the side and completely evading the strike. The Mercury Soldier gave off an annoyed hiss as the woman was able to dodge its attack, but it had almost no time to recover from the miss as the woman launched her own assault immediately. She didn't even fully recover from her own defence before she was suddenly throwing herself into an offensive flurry. She was holding her knife in reverse, changing the ways that it could be used, and it was prepared for it as she whirled around, in sync with the spinning motion she had used to dodge its attack. She used this spinning momentum to bring the knife around in a vicious stab toward the Mercury Soldier's shoulder blade, and as the attack came in toward it, the tail of the Mercury Soldier ripped upwards and intercepted the blade, wrapping around it and then flicking the tail to the side to bring the knife with it, jerking Talitha's arm to the side with it, causing the attack to be cancelled. But the woman twisted yet again, this time sending her foot ripping up at the Mercury Soldier, and it narrowed its eyes, the upper red markings on its face narrowing as it looked at the girl, swinging its arms down violently toward her incoming attack and knocking the leg away hard enough to bruise the woman but not actually damage her. It scoffed at these attacks--even if the A.I. was weak from its imprisonment with B.A.I.T.R. it was still matching this woman--were these the new recruits? Pathetic. The third attack the woman implemented was another strike with her knife, aiming the blade toward the center mass of the Mercury Soldier. She would have to be quicker than that! She could not surprise the Mercury Soldier with this level of speed--it would always have the ability to avoid her strikes--which it did not mind. After all, it was an advantage for the A.I. and an advantage was not something to be upset about. It quickly shifted its body, spinning to the side of the woman to avoid the stab at its chest, and as it spun, the tip of its tail shifted, changing into a harpoon-like tip (though the tip stayed red, and would still burn the woman) as it suddenly thrust the tail forward during its evasion of her last attack, the tip of its tail rocketing in toward Talitha's side, hoping to stab between the woman's ribs at her vital organs.

You can always do that kind of stuff in your post, and you don't ever have to miss out on an attack to do so. You always want to use all of your attacks--you don't want to sacrifice them, just because that 4th attack that you didn't take might have been the one that the enemy rolled really high on and got hit by. ;P Also, you forgot to double your line count!! SO, you only added 27 lines, but you get to double that to 54, so the line count would have been 317, not 290. Which is good news for you! ;P I used the 317 in this post, before adding my lines to it, so you don't need to edit anything. Just go off of the line count I have in this post. =]

As the spear headed tail came rapidly towards her chest area, she thrusted her knife in an upward motion while she side stepped the attacked, in an attempt to slice the tail clean cut. She made note of the shape of the tail changing and then she glanced around the room to see if she could spot anything useful to use against this Core. She saw the tall rack of weights directly behind the core that leaned against the back wall, and an idea sparked in her mind. If she couldn’t beat this thing in speed, she could use her surroundings to weaken it. She took a leap for the Core and used all her force to push it backwards. Whether it would fall backwards or not was another thing, and to make sure the force was enough, she launched a kick in its direction, aiming for its center mass before she rolled away from it. “You’re one tough cookie, huh?” She licked her lips as she kept her body low to the ground in a crouch. She had no clue if her idea would work, but it was worth giving it a try. As she looked into where its eyes would be- if it had any.
If this thing thought it would beat her, it had another thing coming. Talitha was smarter than that, she may have not been in any big fights with an AI core like this one, but she certainly thought she had some advantages. She wasn’t weak-minded like some, and this was her house. She wouldn’t lose in her own home. She returned to a standing position and went to land her last attack on the core by picking up a medicine ball laying off to the side and launching it in the direction of the AI core. With a snicker, she laughed at her stupid attempt to keep the core moving backwards, hoping that it would lose its balance and fall back into the rack. The rack was already pretty unstable, and she knew if anything of that size knocked into it, the weights and rack both would come crashing down on the thing. She kept her knife tight in a reverse grip, in case her attacks weren’t enough and the core decided to come at her.
Her mind wandered back to her father for a brief moment, wondering what he would do if she lost. How heartbroken would he be if she was also gone? The thoughts kept her standing strong and alert for any attack the core might sneak in on her. With her knife with her, she could defeat anything.

The Mercury Soldier eyed the woman as it attempted to impale her with the tail, hoping that she would hear a scream and smell the scent of burning flesh as the tip of the tail was glowing hot. The Mercury Soldier wanted nothing more than to take this woman out--but it seemed that she was quite the quick little thing. She was hopping around and avoiding all of the Soldier's strikes very efficiently, and it was annoying the A.I. core to no end. As the tail swung in to land a blow, the woman countered the attack, swinging her knife up to attempt a counter--hacking at the tail as the Mercury Soldier swung it. In order to avoid the woman's blade, the Soldier had to make a compromise and pull the tail back quickly, negating its own attack, but also avoiding the woman's in the process. She was good--that was for sure. Then the woman lunged in, closing the gap between them very quickly--it would seem she was completely unafraid of the Mercury Soldier, which made the A.I. that much more impressed by the human girl. As she attempted to push the Mercury Soldier with all of her might, the Soldier spun to the side and lowered her body, ducking beneath the woman's push and getting out of the way. Though the woman was after her like a bat out of hell, and she immediately followed up, flying toward the Mercury Soldier once again, trying to land a kick square in the A.I.'s center mass. The A.I. was pleased with the woman's ability to fight, but she would not fall that easily. The core's hand lashed out in a fist and slammed against the side of Talitha's leg, sending the kick off target and allowing the Soldier to avoid the blow once again.
When the human woman spoke up, saying that the Mercury Soldier was a tough cookie, laughter echoed in the training room. "You have absolutely no idea how tough I am, Talitha. I have been starved and bound within a prison for years. Weakened and tortured so that they might use me in this...test of yours. But I am not going to allow them to lock away my power any longer. No...I am going to kill you, girl. And I am going to enjoy it." The Mercury Soldier snapped as it stood there, but the woman was going about something else now, reaching down to an odd spherical object before hurling it toward the Mercury Soldier. The A.I. lashed out and caught the medicine ball, being pushed back by the weight of the thing, but not taking any serious damage from it. As the Mercury Soldier regained its footing it held the heavy ball in its hand and chuckled to itself before it cocked its arms backwards, holding the ball still and then hurled it right back at her. "Have a taste of your own medicine." The Soldier growled, laughing at its own pun as the medicine ball shot towards the woman's leg. It wanted to hit her in the knee to completely disable one of her limbs--it could only hope that it worked.

Talitha’s attacks were all dodged by the AI core, which caused her to let out an array of curses, inviting a frown to slide onto her face. As the AI core spoke, she watched as it caught the medicine ball and then launched it in her direction with great force. Thankfully, the ball never hit, instead she side stepped it like it was nothing. “You don’t seem like you want to kill me that much if all your attacks have been missing.” She teased it, wondering if AI cores could always speak the way this one did. It didn’t even look like it had a mouth. She stood there for a moment, the lovely exchange of words had made her even more determined to get rid of this AI Core. She would deck the doctor right across the face when she woke up- for not explaining correctly what she was currently going through. She let out a soft sigh and looked down at herself, giving another go at attacking the AI core.
She lunched forward as if she was going to land a hit on the core, but she side stepped it, stabbing the knife for an attempt to get in the back, but she didn't stop there, she threw a kick at the AI core’s legs in an attempt to knock it down and then she went for another stab, counting down before she lunged for the weight rack and with all her might, pulled it over, watching it tumble down, in hopes to see the AI core get hit by the rack and all the falling weights. She then used this moment to run the length of the room to the door, and out into the hallway. She ran fast down the hall a she just turned halls quickly, almost slipping and tumbling to the ground as she turned the corner at extraordinary speed. Her father always told her she was fast because she was African, which didn't make sense to her but she didn't argue with him, especially right now, because her speed is probably going to save her life.
She slid into their oversized kitchen that lit up as soon as she came sliding in. She glanced around and kept her knife in hand as she ducked behind the island, pressing her back against the cupboard as she pressed the blade of her knife to her lips.
The Mercury Soldier hated to admit it, but this woman was on par with her--she was going toe to toe with the core, and neither of them were able to land a solid strike on the opponent. This kind of battle was the kind of battle that the Mercury Soldier lived for--one against an opponent that it could not tell who would win--the kind that made her metallic blood boil. It wanted to drive its hand into the woman's chest cavity with all of its strength, tearing out her heart and holding it in her hands as it beat its last beats. As the Mercury Soldier hurled the medicine ball at its foe, Talitha managed to side-step the blow easily and threw a taunt toward the core with a smirk on her face...how it wanted to wipe that smirk away...or burn it away. "You might have managed to avoid all my attacks up until now, girl, but your arrogance will be your downfall--perhaps you too would rather die? Because it doesn't seem you've landed a hit on me either." The Mercury Soldier taunted back. As the woman lunged toward her, the Mercury Soldier watched her carefully, calculating her movements and detecting the feint before she had even executed it. When she went for the stab in the back, the Mercury Soldier ducked low, bending its body at an impossible, folding itself backwards where its head was touching the back of its calves. The blade whipped through the air overtop of it, but it merely chuckled, and stood back up as the woman continued her attacks.
As the kick came toward the backs of the Mercury Soldier's legs, it hopped into the air, allowing her leg to sweep beneath its legs harmlessly, and when the woman tried for the follow-up stab the Mercury Soldier actually lashed out and caught the blade of her knife, solidifying the mercury its body was made of enough to catch the blade without damaging itself. If caught unaware, it was very possible to cleave into the mercury and actually do damage to its body that it could not repair--but it had to be caught before it could alter its body's shape. Then, as the woman pulled over the rack of weights, the Mercury Soldier immediately dove forward, jumping out of the way of the falling debris caused by the woman's antics. When she rolled and regained her footing the woman was already racing out of the training room, and the Mercury Soldier cursed under its breath in annoyance as it chased the woman through the halls, always a turn behind her before she saw the woman disappear into a door. When the Mercury Soldier kicked the door down, it flew into the kitchen and bounced off the front of the island that Talitha was positioned behind, and the Mercury Soldier growled as she stalked into the room. "Have you no warrior's pride? Or do you enjoy cowering like a mouse?" It snarled. All of the speech that came from the Soldier was projected directly into the woman's mind, as it had no mouth to speak with. All A.I. had the innate ability to speak into the minds of other A.I., or into the minds of humans that they were bonded to. It was inside her head right now, so it was easy for it to speak into her mind. The Soldier jumped up ontop of the island, its arm turning into a long blade as it landed and crouched low, immediately swinging the sword arm down toward Talitha, attempting to strike from above and deal a crippling blow to the woman.

Talitha rolled out of the way from the attack from above above, a feeling in her stomach telling her that she needed to move. She pressed her back against the cupboard under the sink and offered the AI core a smile, “Coward? I think I’m just strategic.” She laughed softly. She knew making jokes in the situation would ease her nerves, and that’s exactly what she needed to beat this AI core. She took no time to lunge at the AI core, her knife in reverse once more, she sliced at the AI core’s neck and then jumped down from the Island and then she reached to rip the AI cores legs out from under it and then spun around, using her surroundings once more to make her third attack, she grabbed a kitchen chair and launched it in the direction of the AI core. “Warriors pride? What are you, 1000 years old? A true warrior knows how to survive, not gallivant into battle like it’s their last.”Plus, I have someone waiting for me when I kill you.
She didn’t know why she was having a conversation with the thing that she was trying to kill but she was, and she’d figure out some sort of weakness for this thing so she could return to her reality with a triumphant smile on her face. She stared at it long and hard, trying to recall a reason for her other attacks not landing, and she just dumbed it down to her not being quick enough to land a real hit on the thing.
Its body changed to adapt to her attacks, and she wondered if she tried to make a fake attack, and then while it was in the middle of changing its shape, she’d land an attack while it was most vulnerable. With a smirk, she decided that she was going to make a fourth attack. She ran around the island and then with its back turned to her, she jumped up on the counter with one lucky leap, and then tried to land a kick on its back, another attempt to knock it off the island so she could attack it without having her own risk of falling.

EDIT:
I got super sick and didn't end up posting for annnyyything. Sorry! crying
It was not a long trip, which surprised her. Traveling from nation to nation, country to continent seemed to surprise her in a way that would bewilder others. They had come so far, more so with her body and how she looked. She didn't need to look this way and yet she wore her battle scars as physical and mental armor. Without any other way to fight, she knew she could look like a pretty girl. Why was she so self-loathing? Was it due to the slender bodies of the people she passed? She loved the dark skin, the way the people baked in the sun, and yet...She was watched, as per-usual. She had remembered reading the history of this place, how Africa had come to be a very big power in the booming economy of the world .Turning its oppression into power gave Slypner a wide sense of respect for the people of Africa. She had taken her time getting there, observing and taking in the ways of the people. She had no set time to show up, and she felt connected. Africa's history...Either way, when she arrived, she made her way in slowly. She tried her best to be professional, but came off stiff. "Hello. My name is Slypner Arin. I am a B.A.I.T.E.R. I have come from Asia to deal with a recent sighting?" Slypner said, a bit confused at the end. She wondered what had been happening around the area. "Does anyone have any sort of description?" She asked, trying to gain as much info. Slypner touched her visor, hoping she would get some information as well, but when she heard silence, she simply shrugged. She would not get any information unless she put effort in, and this was not the effort she needed. She waited, her mind wondering about what she could learn, what she could absorb. The more power she had the more she could defeat, and with that thought ,she heard a snicker. Such backward thinking would be her defeat...Either way, she waited for what she could learn of the situation.

Bruce
Bruce glanced at the woman in the armor, raising a dark eyebrow at her getup. It wasn't often he saw such a thing. It was obviously a result of a surgery to help her stay on her feet, but she was still intimating as hell. His natural dark lips smiled sweetly though, walking up to the armor woman. "Hey there miss. I'm Bruce, If I heard you right, you're looking for info on recent sightings?" He asked then turned his chocolate brown eyes upwards, thinking. "Let's see, I'm guessing you're asking about Last Chance right?" He waited for Slypner to confirm it before continuing. "Ah yes, we're not too sure, the locals haven't really gotten close to the cave at all. According to them it just showed up a few yards west from the camp. There are some saying that they hear some footprints that are un-human in the middle of the night. But nothing was confirmed. With the wind and such, there's no way to tell who's walking around in the sand. That's all we really know here, the locals don't contact us often, especially how few there are there. First mission right?" He asked, looking at the girl. He didn't want to offend her but she had newbie written all over her. It was mostly the stiff voice she used to ask them about Last Chance. He was just glad she wasn't a never return, or N.R. for short. Someone in her position with artificial body parts usually showed up often, most didn't talk to them, just walked past without glancing up as they made their way to the desert.
Had she made a mistake? She assumed, she come to the main facility, gather her information and yet...Assumptions you know? They make an a** of you and me. She should be striking at her enemies by now, but she had no information. Would the main facilty not know of what was going on around them? It made her wonder until someone came to approach her. He was a darker male, a native she assumed. He was very well built, which made her shrink inside. He introduced himself as Bruce and she immediately stood stright. "Slypner Arin, here to observe and take care of the recent sightings. I am here to take care of any of the problems you might be having!" She almost shouted and saluted, but braced herself, all while still tense. She kept it rolling, the stick very far up her, where the sun doesn't shine. "I am indeed here for Last chance. I am here to take care of your recent problems" She blurted out just as fast as she was asked. She was trying to read his lips, trying to predict him. Why was she being such a machine? She listened this time, letting him get out every word. She focused on his lips...Then his neck...And her eyes began to wonder until he asked her if this was his first mission. "Uh...Y-Yeah." She said, blushing under her visor. He wondered how many times he had to deal with this things, with people like her. She wondered about how many times people ignored him and walked past him. "Uh..I know I said my name before but...My name is Slypner Arin. I've come to deal with the problem that you guys are facing. Something that pops in and out you say? I can deal with that." She said, now smiling. "Is there anything else I should need to know? Maybe someone had a sighting?" She said, but she ate her words. That person would be there and not here. She sighed, shaking her head for a moment. She was wasting time here, but she had to get all she could get to know. The more information, the better she would get. If she knew just something, she could be put at an advantage. She needed that, she needed that reason to know she would come on top. She was going to win, she just needed her trump card.
