Khaleel had the lay of the land a little bit better, but he found it odd at night that there wasn't many people around. It seemed too quiet and serene for such a bustling town.
He rustled the bag to make some sort of sound, opening up a snowball treat from the market he had gone too.
The small rustling sound was echoed through the empty streets and he made a face.
So booooooooring~~

Later, Nico would love to say it'd been something about the blond boy with the spiky hair that'd drawn him in. Something romantic like the tides of fate drawing him into a riptide or that Lady Fortune had laid a kiss upon his furry brow.
Really, though?
He was absolutely starving, a little more ragged and skinny than he should have been after too many days all on his own, and the rustling of that wrapper was just the thing to draw his attention. The fact that he felt a spark of something special when he lurched forward to wind around the man's ankles with a plaintive mew was just icing on the cake.
The snowball cake treat.
The delicious bit of heavenly goodness.
"Are you really going to eat all that?"

Khaleel looked down at the voice, belonging to a very adorable looking kitten.
"Ah, I see that America has talking cats! It is most wonderous land if they had made an invention to make talking cats! Or perhaps it is my imagination from the lack of food! Either way, my kitten friend..." Khaleel scooped Nico up as if it was no problem, use to the way animals gravitated towards in him Jordan due to his kindness.
"I will share my treat if you promise not to attack me, little one!" Khaleel completely treated Nico as if it was just a figment of his brain.

Nico's tail swished, although in his case it was a prelude to joy rather than irritation. When the man scooped him up, he went limp and docile in the way of his breed, more than happy to be tucked into someone's arms. It was where he belonged, really, not out on the streets. "All cats have a voice, but not all can speak - my kind are quite special, if I may so squeak." Not his best, but he was hungry after all.
He dipped his head, hat falling into his eyes. "I am Nicodemus, and most delighted to tell you that you are quite special, " for if he couldn't feel it before, he certainly could now. This man was a hero in the making, and to be one of his. "I would be more than happy to help you awake, but please, let us eat before I begin to shake."
Much better!

As Khaleel held the cat, he realized that the talking was actual legit talking. He held a talking cat. He was holding a talking cat. Oh what a wondrous land had he come too?
"You're kind, you say?" Khaleel set the ragdoll kitten down and then pat it's head. "you may...uh squeak if thats what you wish. But I don't think I speak that american dialect!" He laughed heartily.
"Here you go Nicodemus." Khaleel placed half of a snowball down for the kitten, "Special you say? Perhaps it is because I can hear cats talk?" he laughed, "I am already awake my friend! unless this is a dream!" He pinched himself to make sure.

Nico laughed cheerfully back, savoring the pets and winding gratefully around the man's legs, all too happy for some human attention and affection. He even went so far as to lick some fingers when they set down the treat for him, purring rampantly as he nibbled at it. It was no chicken nugget, but it was delicious none the less.
"Oh, no, it's much more than that!" Nico cheerily informed him, and paused in wolfing down his snack to take a few steps back and ready himself for a little flip. A stick appeared, then, clattering gently to the ground before him. "You, great hero of the stars, are awake, and with this, awakened! Your ascent has such been hastened! You can use this stick to take on the form of the champion of justice you were put on this world to be! Come now, utter these words in a count of three - Altais Power, Make-UP!" And yes he did shout the last word just to be extra dramatic. It wasn't as though there was anyone around!
But.
"You can wait until after you eat though, " he added cheerily, going back and resuming his nibbling of the snowball.

Oh dear, if anything, Khaleel had a soft fondness for cute animals. Cute things. He liked all the cute things. Oh dear.
"Great hero of the stars you say?" He couldn't believe it, but the cat just made a stick appear out of no where. He picked it up and recognized it to be some sort of pen? Wand? something like that. With Nico's dramatic yell, Khaleel laughed and patted the cat on the head.
He first wanted to look over everything. So he nibbled his treat and then eyed Nico thoughtfully. Once the snowball was finished though, he got up and brushed the coconut flakes off.
"Okay Nico, my friend!" He ahemed and then smiled, holding the stick up. "Altais power, Make-up!" Once the words were uttered, he was bathed in a swift wind and light. One moment he was dressed in loose airy clothing and the next he was dressed in....
"These look like the formal clothes of a prince of Jordan!" Khaleel exclaimed. "Nico, what has happened to my clothing?!?!"

At the pets, feeling all successful and proud of himself, Nico purred eagerly and headbutted Khaleel's hand, rubbing his face all over it and leaving traces of long white fur behind. Residual stickiness from the snowball plus shedding was never a clean affair.
Then, there he was - one of Nico's very own senshi! "I bet with every Wind that blew, till Nature in chagrin, employed a Fact to visit me, and scuttle my Balloon!" he piped up cheerfully, as though that gave any real answer to what had exactly happened to Khaleel or had any real relevance to their situation at all.
"You have become a hero; Sailor Altais, senshi of shockwaves! Here to protect the innocents of Destiny City from themselves! - and by themselves I mean those that seek to do them harm." Which was actually something completely different, but alright then.

"A hero?" Altais was still playing with his clothes and the weird breeziness they held. They fit him in a comfortable and nice way, making him happy.
"Are these clothes, do they come off?" he attempted to start to pull them off and then stared at Nico.
"And what does this mean for you? Are you my friend then? Will you show me this way of life?"
