The growing sensations that he was beginning to feel again was a startling revelation to the stallion. He of course had felt something similar when he had been in the presence of Hazalinia but he had never imagined that another individual could reawaken this level of emotions inside of him. The stallion sighed softly as he contemplated this once familiar feeling. It was clear that the source was that mare that he had met a few weeks prior. He had stuck around the area as an attempt to get a better understanding on what Andromeda's Nocturne did during the day. He had surmised correctly from her appearance in the sunlight that she was of Kelpi heritage. Stardust did not think of himself as a voyeur but considering the amount of time that he was spending just observing Andromeda relaxing in the shallows or grazing nearby would have others shaking their heads in disagreement.

It was probably more noticeable nowadays as his crow familiar chattered noisily in his ear. Stardust ignored Andromeda’s insults and pushed through the foliage to graze. It was true that he was probably acting the fool but he was certain that there had been an emotional connection of some kind established during that initial meeting. The act of proving it would perhaps fall upon his shoulders. How did one admit their growing desire to be near to one another though? Stardust gave an indignant snort before sighing. He would most likely start by acknowledging the feelings inside and to find Andromeda’s Nocturne. He would have to speak to her about how he felt while in her company. From there it would solely rest upon if Andromeda felt the same way about him. Then they could explore the idea of a romantic relationship – together.

Stardust felt rather proud of how he had handled the situation at hand. He had been composed as he had approached Andromeda's Nocturne and cleared his throat. When she turned her gaze to him the stallion felt his "coolness" falter and instead of launching into his memorized speech he simply stood there looking blankly at the mare. It was the sight of her coat, similar to his own that got him speaking again. However it was not his practiced speech that he began with but rather a heartfelt declaration that he would stay with the mare for as long as she wished for his company. Perhaps that was the right way to go about declaring one's feelings. Stardust sighed softly at the memory that followed of just standing side by side with Andromeda's Nocturne. That had been the most comfortable he had felt in such a long time. It was, he realized, the feeling of companionship and of being wanted.

Now he stood idle having finished grazing for the moment. Andromeda had gone back to see her family for the day and Stardust had nothing to do besides wait for her return. The stallion sighed and thought back on the family that had he had started with Hazalinia. He had sent his crow on a mission to track down his first love just as a means of keeping tabs on how his family was doing. She had yet to track down his son but that did not come as a surprise. Stardust had never known his son to be a rather “loud” individual. That meant that not a lot of others had gotten word of him. He had known that Hazalinia had found herself another stallion and had settled down with him. He was glad to know that she was happy. He did know that his daughter had had children which meant he was a grandfather but he had never seen his grandchildren.

There was nothing more special to behold then coming to the realization that you cared deeply for another individual. Cared deeply and possibly loved. Stardust recalled the night that he and Andromeda had met and he could not help but replay the moment where they had each circled one another searching the others coat looking for similar constellations that might echo the night sky above them. It seemed that his coat held more of the constellations that Andromeda had recognized. His slow circuit of the mare had come up empty for he could not make out any similar patterns on Andromeda's coat. But it was the act of searching that perhaps drew them closer together.

Closing his eyes the stallion sighed. It had been too long, too long indeed; this welcome feeling of companionship. Andromeda had woken up something deep inside, something that Stardust thought he had lost. She had brought laughter back to him and he would be eternally grateful to Andromeda's Nocturne for that.

The night air had grown cooler as the seasons began to change. Stardust paced back and forth as he fretted. His crow familiar had brought troubling news to him. There was nothing to confirm what she had told him but it troubled the stallion greatly. The news that she brought spoke that his son had met an untimely end; although without corroboration Stardust refused to believe the tale. There would have been some sort of cosmic sign that Moondust had indeed parted this plane of existence.

Shaking his head once more Stardust gave a quiet sigh before staring contemplatively at the sky above him. The crescent moon glowed quite hauntingly and the stallion watched the object before pawing at the ground. He would wait for further confirmation but he needed to unload the weight of the burden on his soul. He would confide in Andromeda's Nocturne. He was sure that she would understand how he felt. She was becoming more and dearer to him with every passing day. Silent moments and gentle touches were what he came to look forward to in her company. It was different from what he had felt with Hazalinia and yet there was something similar as well.
