Late in the night a figure could be seen slinking through the gardens. Its slender frame squeezing behind a tree and moving a board that blocked a hole in the castle walls. Slipping through the figure put the board back and looked around at the streets outside of the castle. Pulling her hood down Tuli took a deep breath and ran down the street. She was free!
Tuli finally slowed down to enjoy the night sky and the wind. She ran her fingers unsuccessfully through her curly brown hair and just enjoyed being away from the horrors in the castle. She wore servants clothes she had stolen to get out of the castle and into the gardens. Being outside now was bliss, she just had to keep her ears and eyes out for demons. Tuli had been told by her father many a times that demons hunted at night but she would risk demons to get away from the man in the castle.

If she had listened to her father, though, the demon nearby would have never spotted her. He was out hunting for an offering for his king to make up for a previous mistake he made, and thought that Tuli was the perfect thing. She was beautiful, slender, graceful looking. His king would enjoy that! The demon smirked and looked around before grabbing a ragged cloth and a length of rope left behind by a vendor.
not much but it'll do for now. The demon snuck up behind Tuli and grinned before grabbing her wrists, forcing them up to her collarbone before he started tying the rope around her, "hey there pretty lady! You're coming with me." He said and pulled her hood down over her eyes before tying the cloth around Tuli's mouth. Hopefully it would last long enough to get her into the demon territory. The demon grunted and threw tuli over his shoulder before he took off running into the forest.

Tuli was about to round a corner to go onto the main road when she was pulled back. She gasped and then cried out when her arms were pulled and tied behind her back. "Let go of m-!" she yelled as her hood was pushed down and the cloth was tied into her mouth. When she was picked up she struggled and kicked her legs yelling into the cloth.
The hood was thin and she could see a bit of who was carrying her. Strike that, what was carrying her. Her heart sped and her face paled as she made out distinct features of a demon holding her. Panicing she kept trying to squirm out of his grasp. When she heard other demons around she squirmed more. She wouldn't let up. She would not be an easy target at all.

"Q-Quit squirming around! Or do you want me to drop you?!" He yelled and flicked at her thigh before continuing to carry her off. Some other demons sniffed at her or chuckled seeing her, but the small demon shooed them away, "back off. it's for the king!" He shouted then took Tuli away into a large lodge. The demon king's home. He grunted and dropped tuli down before using his claws to rip her cloak away, "M-My king, I brought you this offering t-to make up for my mishap earlier. ."
The demon king was leaned over a table full of maps and plans before he stood up straight. He was much taller than the other demons outside, and had scars along his arms and some on his torso from previous fights against the king. He turned, glancing towards tuli through the bone mask he wore and walked over to kneel in front of her, ". . .You don't seem as fail as the other town girls. ." He said then used one finger to pull the cloth an inch from tuli's mouth, "your name."

Tuli squeaked when he hit her thigh and growled a bit. Hearing the sniffing and the laughs she growled more and kept squirming. When she heard the demon carrying her say that she was for the king she froze. The demon king? Her going to the demon king? This was not going to end well for her.
When she was dropped down she yelled in the cloth and then gasped when the cloak was ripped away. Her hair fell around her face and when she looked up at the demon king she paled a bit. When he pulled the cloth away she gulped a bit and licked her lips before saying softly, "....T-Tuli...."

"Tuli . . as in the princess of High Ground tuli?" He asked then glanced towards the demon for a second, ". . .leave us. And close the door." He said then picked tuli up to walk towards the other room. The demon flinched but ran and shut the door, giving the two of them privacy. When the demon king pulled a chair up, he pushed tuli down to sit and pulled the ragged cloth from her face completely.
". . . .I'm a little shocked that he was able to get you so easily, little princess." He finally chuckled and pulled up his own chair to sit across from her. It was enough distance to stop of her if she tried to fight or run, "Does your father realize where you are? Or were you just as surprised as I am that you're here?"

Tuli knew he would recognize her name easily. When there was no one but her in the room she knew that she was going to be interrogated and probably killed. She really had nothing else to live for. It was either be killed by him or go back to her home. Her arms were going a bit numb in her restraints so settled for glaring at him then gave a small smile, "It is a surprise but I'd much rather be anywhere but the castle at this moment." She said.
What she didn't know is she lifted her head a bit too much and the bruise on her shoulder started to peak out. "I had actually just escaped the castle when your demon captured me. That was my fault, I should have gotten to the main road more quickly." she said and she leaned back a bit but she leaned on her tied arms and that hurt so she sat up again.

The demon king looked down at her bruise and reached out, picking her up out of the chair lightly so she was against him before pulling her sleeve down to look over the bruise, ". . .was it your father? Or that pompous prince who declared his 'love' for you and the kingdom?" He asked and traced the edge before setting her back down into the chair. To be honest, he wasn't sure what to do with the knowledge that she didn't want to be home. Would he use that to her advantage? Take her back to avoid any more excuses to attack his people? . . .or keep her? All were pretty tempting at this point.
"I wouldn't be surprised if it was your father. That . .human, is a vicious monster wearing the skin of a man." He huffed and stood up to pour himself a cup of water and one for the girl, "I wouldn't put it past him to strike a woman."

Tuli gave an eep sound when she was pulled towards him. She flinched when he went for her bruise but she only gulped when he mentioned the prince. When he insulted her father she stood up not caring how much her arms screamed at her, "Now hold on a minute! My father may not be the most caring man in the world but he would NEVER hurt me or my sister!" She said, "How dare you call him a monster! All he has ever done is try to protect us."
She could handle a lot but not when it came to her family. After her mother had been killed she had clung to them tightly. "He loved my mother and he loves us. When my mother died he...." She stopped and looked away before she took the opportunity and kicked him. Taking the short opportunity of him distracted she ran for the door of the tent.

The demon king snarled in anger and turned before running to grab hold of Tuli's wrists. Being a demon, he ran alot faster than the girl could, "Come here!" He shouted and turned tuli around before lifting her up by her neck. He didn't choke her, but he held her close so she couldn't escape a second time, "Your father started a war that is killing hundreds of your soldiers, and hundreds more of MY people. He came after US, little princess. Do you even know why? No! None of your people do!" He snarled and removed his bone mask to look her in the face.
His white hair rolled out to his back, and his white tiger ears flattened on his head, "He hates our kind, and wanted to get rid of us. Your father attacked us without ANY reason! Other than to see us dead! And with you? He's allowing you to marry a monster who beats you, and daily by the look of that bruise and the ones on your arms." He growled before dragging her away to the room. He took a sash from his nearby desk and broke the rope around her wrists, only to lift her arms so he could tie her against a post, "Your father is a monster, little girl. He just learns to hide it well." He huffed at her, "As for you. . .I don't know what to make of you. I will keep you here until there is announcement for your search. If they want you, we will give you back. if not? I'll be sending you away to another kingdom."

Tuli gasped and whimpered when she was held like that and when she was yelled at. Seeing his face she saw that he wasn't ugly like all the demons around him. When her wrists were free she cried out from them bending again then whimpered when she was tied to the post. She looked up at him angry now, "You killed my mother! Father hasn't been the same since her death! Thats why this stupid war is happening. He's convinced you all killed her!" She yelled.
Tears started to fall down her face when she realized she would have to go back to the castle eventually. Back to that man. Panic started to seep into her body and she started to struggle in the ties, "I'm not going back... I won't go back... I won't... I won't...." She whimpered before her panic ridden body did something stupid. She leaned her head forward and threw it back as hard as she could. With a loud crack her eyes rolled back and she slumped in the ties.

The demon king blinked in shock and ran to check if she hurt herself badly, then sighed seeing that she just knocked herself out. He untied her, tied her hands in front of her but set her down in the bed so she could relax. What was he going to do with this woman? The demon growled but walked out of the room and opened the door to his hut, "Bring me my second in command. I need to have a private chat with him." He demanded then walked back in to look after the girl.
He rubbed his eyes tiredly and groaned before sitting down with his cup. He wanted this war over. He wanted to go back home without. . .worrying that some soldier was going to come and burn his village to the ground like so many others. He brushed his hair back in frustration before throwing his cup aside.

Andir, his second in command, walked in just as the cup was thrown. He arched his brow, "I see the woman that solider brought didn't last long enough for you." He said walked over picking up the cup as he walked. "What do you need of me my King?" He asked then stopped seeing Tuli asleep on the bed. It was strange for any human to be on the kings bed at all.
"My King, Is she..?" He wanted to ask if she was dead but didn't know how to ask it. If they had another dead human girl it would be hell to pay. He knew his king would never do something like that to a girl but he had to ask just the same.

"She's alive. Unconscious but alive. . .and the princess of the kingdom we're all fighting against." He said to andir, glancing at him then motioning for him to go forward so he could check on the princess, "She has bruises on her body. Some fresh and some old. . .she ran away from her castle before one of the trainees kidnapped her as an offering for me." He explained as his tail flickered around in annoyance, "She was defensive of her father, so I'm assuming it's the pig fiance.
. . . I dont know what to do with her. She doesn't want to go back, above all else, but we can't keep her here. They would use this against us, paint us in an even worse light than we're in." the demon king huffed out before throwing his hand lightly and turning away, "this all just became one huge mess."
