Darkness Rising:
UAA Story Arc II
20 years has passed since the inception of The University of the Arcane Arts, life was continuing as it had been, however, times change. The Demon student, Kurai Ko Odjin had been selected by the headmaster to take over, as she had chose to continue on her own quest. The school continued to strive as professors young and old entered and the grand halls. Life seemed as if it would be an unending routine, we were very wrong.
Word had gotten out that the Guardians of the UAA had lessened their concern with external sources, meaning that the age of darkness would soon be upon the lands. The students seemed to be without practical combat training, making the invasion seem like the end. The school suffered heavy damage, this prompted the new headmaster and his inner circle to take on the responsibility of training the students accordingly.
Today, the school stands as a monument to protection. Dedicated to the defense of its land and its inhabitants. This is where you come in. Will you remain a protector, or will you give into the darkness that consumes the land? Be aware, the forces of darkness are always at work. Remain strong or find yourself lost in the chaos.

The Headmaster looks out from his office window. “At the rate we are going, we may not be able to handle another invasion.”
“I hate to have to ask this of you. But please, provide any support you and your host can. We are in this to protect this land and this school. I’m willing to do anything in my power to do so.”
He turns around from the window to look at his guest. “What have you?”
“Consider it done Demon. But be aware this is only to help the school and these lands. We have no desire to do you a personal favor.”
The man vanishes from the room and the headmaster looks back out to the courtyard.
“I hope that this deal is not going to become one that overthrows us. But I need to do what I can. I’m only one being.”

Gregory had been in the shadows the entire time, he had been an adviser in this school around 20 years. Of course originally it had been another who accepted it. He stepped out and addressed the headmaster. "Do you believe that is wise? You know they have no love for you seeing as your a demon. I don't really think you need their help, after all the Black Family has been quite enough for a long time now. It was our funds that repaired the school and that have provided for the school. I have been an adviser here for 20 or so years now, I wouldn't except their help but if you do make sure to watch them closely." He never had actually told anyone here that he was a vampire but with begin here so long and looking the same, people would begin to wonder.

" I'm glad you have chosen to come out of those shadows Mr.Black. The issues we are going to encounter are ones where we need as much assistance as possible. I feel that the angels may be valuable to have as an ally. They may hate my kind, but they do not hate the humans that attend here.Kurai turns to face his very generous benefactor. However the only concern I hold for dealing with them is the issues between the "fallen" factions within our halls. While most do not seem to grasp the truth behind our school housing vampires, demons, and even fallen angels, the host could end up losing their temper to some of the students. I'd like for you to inform the other faculty of this arrangment. We need to keep them aware of our current situation.

*Amy knocks on the door of the Head Masters office.*
Amy: boy this place really has fallen to crap in the past 20 years.
Lena: what do you mean, your only 26, your just a year older then i am.
Amy: yeah but i seen the old photos, this place was serious a place to behold *Amy says as she looks around the hallway*
Lena: are you sure your capable of this task the association gave us?
Amy: what? please i was a born teacher just look at me
Lena: look i doubt your abilities, its just everything about you is just slightly off.
Amy: Explain
Lena: well your shoes are a bit to lose fitting to do what their suppose to do on a woman fashion wise. Your refined accent doesn't quite go with your wiry slippery environmental awareness, Your body language says laconic and your mood says impatient. Your hairstyle with the glasses doesn't even look right on you. To me you just come off as a giant ball of suspicious actions, and that's why i have 2 locks on my door at night. You just create a subtle image of something sinister walking around just convincingly enough in human skin.
Amy *turns to Look at Lena*: Whoa... is that how you see me?
Lena: that's how a lot of people see you i noticed. Scary thing is, you appear to be more ordinary then you present your self.
Amy :hmmmmmmm strange....and deep. Wow... just wow Lena
Lena: meh, no worries, that's why i love ya Aim! Besides every one has character flaws like mines for instance
* The two women continue their conversation while waiting out side the office*

*Amy and Lena enters the office, Lena looks astounded by all the stuff around the office, while Amy approaches the desk and pulls out her Documents*
Amy: hello, you must be the head master. I am Dr. Amy Marie Griffin , im responding to the help ad placed in the United Mage Association about the temporary teaching position for Magical History. Oh and this is my assistant Lena.
Lena: Lena Pierce, its nice to meet you two. I'm also here to apply to attend classes here, if that's possible.

He then begins skimming them.* "Mhmm, well Dr. Amy, It seems you are very qualified, almost over qualified. However if this is what you wish to do I you are very much welcome to the teaching position. And Ms. Lena, You wish to partake in Elemental Magics. A very good choice for you. I can tell that the elements peek your interest, and that is what we want here.*Kurai places the files on his desk and looks the two in the eyes* I also need to do a bit of a screening on you two. So this organization that you two were talking about, what was that exactly?

Amy: the UMA or United Mage Association is a ferm that deals with help ads from vairous guilds for those who are not associated with a guild but meet the requirments for the task. Tehcnically schools, acadamys and universities are considered Guilds by the Association especally if aid relief is needed. Thats why im a temp, i happen to be in the area conduction research and i figured i might as well use my degree to net some walking around money. Also it keeps this one out of trouble * points to Lena*
Lena: oh its just that one time! Besides it was months ago
Amy: it was last week.
Lena: well how long was that like... 7 days... or 168 hours.. or 10080 minutes or 604800 seconds need i go on?
Amy: when did you become such a smart a**
Lena: i learned it from you.
*Amy has a mildly humbled expression as she looks at Lena, then back to to the Head Master*
Amy: anyway, thats why im here. *Holds up 2 contracts* This contract will serve as a record of my services here for the allot time given. you are free to terminate this contract any time after 1 week of signing. This one will be submitted to the association while this other one is a copy for you to keep.

* The two women continue their conversation while waiting out side the office* outside a small girl waited . about the size of a toddler but she was older . her eyes a fierce purple . her clothes colourful and childlike but she had a sene of purpose and a deep wisdom. her name was ruby stein and she had come to lend her skills in alchem and magik to the defense of the land She waited outside and didn't address the other too girls . She wondered if they noticed her too. Professor Kirkwall had passed away in one of the earlier attacks. It seems another Kirkwall had joined the cause with him he offers the veilfire gaurd regiment. To aid if the head would see him. He walked into the waiting area and smiled at all the others presant. His smile was unnerving.

pyrolee23 Well if that is the case, I'd love to welcome you to UAA, Also since I am sure that giant ship out there is yours, Please do consider parking it somewhere where the students can't get to. We don't want them messing with that and getting themselves harmed. You may go ahead and tour the school if you would like. I have some more meetings to attend to.

Lena: yeah of Couse I did,..... you don't think the ship is that big..do you? ( Nena: Well lets just say subtly is not its primary function) I wasent asking you.

*The two girls leave the office with a wave to the 2 men, then continue down the hall way *

Amy: its a magical particle tracer, this baby can follow the magical energy trail to its caster up to 500 yards. but heres the thing, ever since I had it locked on to your magical signature its seems that this entire palce is saturated with errrr Lena particles.
Lena: Lena particles ? So you saying even after we just got here, my magical energy was already here?
Amy: no.. wait yes, like damn that was pretty on the ball Lena.
Lena: so what do we do?
Amy:*in a stereotypical Asian accent* we must do research.
Lena: oh man this is getting pretty weird Amy. (Nena: and is about to get a while lot weirder) AHH *Lena jumps away startled by nothing*
Amy: you ok?
Lena: im fine.. its just.... hey Amy let me ask you something
*the conversation continues as the board their ship on the way to the market.*
