Sometimes, Bindhi thought as she threw back her head and slammed another shot of grape vodka, fake IDs were ******** amazing inventions. Setting the glass down, she glared blearily at the row of similar glasses on the counter. To say she was handling the implosion of her relationship poorly was an understatement. If she wasn't out looking for bigger and badder fights, she was at home crying and drinking.

It was beginning to confuse and upset her dog.

"Poor Sanskrit," she murmured as she carefully levered herself to the floor to scoop up her little pet and cuddle him. "You're just as confused as I am, huh. Probably not as lonely though. Maybe Orah'll let me swing by and hang out for the night."

Setting the dog down, she gave him a gentle pat and stood back up. Of course, Orah would let her come over and crash. Because Orah was a sweetheart. But Orah was also a reminder in a way of what was lost. Because Orah wasn't the only one who held those future memory visions. No, if she was going to go anywhere to drown her sorrows, it needed to be someplace with no meaning to her whatsoever.

And that meant clubbing. Forcing herself to leave the bottle of vodka on the counter, she headed for the bedroom. Quick shower, change of clothes, make sure to pack enough money for tips. Hell, if she really wanted, she could visit a strip club.

Once she was reasonably put together, she topped off Sanskrit's food and water dishes and headed out the door, locking it behind her. As toasted as she already was, driving was a bad idea. And hey! Maybe the walk would help un-fog her brain.

The walk did not help un-fog her brain. If anything, it made her sadder and crankier because she could see how surrounded she was by happy couples. In order to escape, she ducked into the first place that didn't have a stupid long line. Once inside, she blinked at the dim, smoky lighting and allowed herself a smile. This wasn't the strip club, but a burlesque club. She'd never been to one before, but she liked what she saw immediately.

Allowing a cute hostess to seat her at a small table, she ordered a martini and cupped her chin in her hands as she studied the place. Oh yes, this place would suit her needs just fine. No prior associations and she was surrounded by cuties in corsets and booze. Perfect.

Cordelia Carden had been working at the Cat's Paw for a little over a year now, having aced her 'audition' (why they couldn't have just called it an interview when she hadn't been interested in signing up for a stage performance was beyond her). With the money she made in tips from flaunting assets that she had learned to appreciate while running around Destiny City in something similar to the clothes she worked in she had been paying for the rent on a modest apartment while trying to keep herself out of trouble... Mostly.

"I've got this one." She nodded, flashing the hostess a smile before picking up a tray to set the single martini down on. The young woman that she was supposed to bring it over to looked like a mess; a beautiful one, but a mess none the less. It was a slower night and she knew that some of the other girls would prefer to wait for some of the high end gentlemen to come in.

Smiling she set the martini in front of the young woman, leaning her tray against her hip for a moment as she watched her. "If I can get you anything else tonight just let me know. Name's Cordelia, alright?"

How she managed to keep from jumping in shock as well as keeping her face from betraying said shock, Bindhi never knew. Still, she couldn't help her eyes going a little wide. She knew Cordelia. And from the look of things, the advice she'd given when the other girl had been shopping had done some good.

Except, Cordelia was another reminder of how changed her life was. She couldn't act like she was a friend because the stupid glamour cast on her when she'd purified had made her unrecognizable when she wasn't off saving the city. And that realization brought even more tears to her eyes. Rather than hysterically sobbing in front of her waitress, Bindhi grabbed the martini and slammed it back.

"If you can just keep the drinks coming, I will be your friend forever," she said, the beginnings of a slur touching her words. "I would like to be as drunk as possible without courting immediate liver failure."

At the wide-eyed expression on the other woman's face she glanced down at herself, taking a moment to make sure that she hadn't spilled anything anywhere earlier. Nope. That was good, at least. It made it easier for her to remain unflustered as she continued to smile softly at her.

"How about you tell me what your name is first before we become friends forever? Then I can get a better idea of what kind of drink to have the bar mix up for me to bring you. Maybe a glass of water and something to nibble on between rounds?" Her brow lofted slightly as she leaned forward to reach across the table for one of the appetizer menus, practically flashing the other woman unintentionally in the process.

Closing her eyes and gulping a little as Cordelia nearly flashed her, Bindhi waited a moment until there was no danger of accidental drunken groping before holding out a hand.

"Bindhi Coryn. And any play on the martini is good for me. Appletini, Chocotini, Cotton Candy 'tini. Just keep 'em coming. And I... guess water would also be good."

She pulled a mournful face, which wasn't that difficult a trick given the circumstances that had sent her out clubbing. Glancing through the appetizer menu, she sighed and looked for something that she could be sure wouldn't try making a reappearance later.

"I'd hate to dilute the booze, but I also can't argue with good advice coming from a cute chick. What's recommended here?"

"Hmm, well, Bindhi, if you're going with martinis I would probably recommend something like," she reached to flip over the menu to the next page, "this. The potato skins have just enough substance without having any of the acid that might react with something poorly later. If we're being honest, which I usually try to be, I'd also follow it up with a slice of the vanilla bean cheesecake to go along with the chocolate martini they serve. It's amazing."

She stepped back, giving her a little room to look over the menu on her own as she shifted her tray against her hip. "Would you like me to give you a moment to look over things?"

Carefully closing the menu, Bindhi handed it back with a smile.

"I will order whatever you recommend, so just bring it on out. I'll trust your judgement on the skins and the cheesecake."

Granted, she was far more interested in being drunk, crying and oogling cheesecake of an entirely different variety, but the night was young and she had near infinite funds on tap. She could always go cry in the bathroom later.

"I'll put the order in, then, and I'll bring you over your next drink and a glass of water in the meantime." She brushed her fingers lightly against the other woman's as she took the menu before leaning over to tuck it back where it belonged before heading back over to the bar.

Once the order was put in she snagged one of the small baskets with a four piece assortment of rolls and some of the honey butter along with a glass of water while the tender was mixing the next drink; a cotton candy martini that they left in the shaker for her to pour.

"Alright." She set the bread down on the table along with the glass of water, lying a napkin down before setting the martini glass on top of it. She used tongs to pick up the fluff of cotton candy, setting it in the glass before picking up the shaker. "They prefer we pour this one right in front of you. I like to think of the shaking as a bit of a teaser before the stage show." She smirked softly, teasing the other woman lightly as she gave the martini a shake before popping off the cap to strain it through the lid over the cotton candy.

"Voila!"

Shivering a little as Cordy's fingers brushed her own Bindhi closed her eyes as the other woman walked off to place the order.

I will not stare at my friend's a**, I will not stare at my friend's a**. Even if she doesn't know me, I will not stare at my friend's goddamn a**....

Though, really, given her already impressive state of inebriation, she shouldn't have been so surprised to find herself watching Cordelia with almost hungry eyes. So alcohol. Stupid hormones. Stupid self that somehow ******** up everything enough to ruin the best thing in her life... Still, Bindhi did her best to not leer or stare. It wasn't polite for one thing. And well, this was a friend who was trying to keep her from poisoning herself with alcohol. She managed half a grin at Cordelia's quip as she poured the martini, reaching for a roll and quietly shredding it into tiny pieces that she had to force herself to eat.

Raising the glass with the newly poured martini in it, Bindhi silently toasted her server and tried to not let her eyes stray past the other's collarbone. Then, with barely a thought, she slammed the drink back and had swallowed it even before the cotton candy had finished dissolving.

"'s good stuff. What next?"

"Next?" Her brow lofted slightly and she glanced upwards for a moment as though pondering something deep before looking back to the other young woman. "Next, I think, I go check on the potato skins, because they should be just about finished, and I'll see about what drink comes after. I'll even see about asking the bartender to add in an extra splash of something if you promise me you'll sip this one instead of shoot it."

Her smirk was soft and teasing; genuine, actually, despite the setting. It wasn't the smile that she usually gave customers at all. A part of her must have been sympathizing entirely with whatever it was that Bindhi had to have been going through to land her in the Cat's Paw like this.

"How does that sound to you, Ms Coryn?"

The last thing that Bindhi wanted to be was sensible and a drink sipper. But the promise of an extra shot appealed to her. And, well, Cordelia was so cute and Bindhi liked her smile. Heaving a much-put-upon sigh, she smiled back, blinking furiously to keep the tears that were trying to form at bay.

"All right, Miz Cordelia," she answered in an equally soft voice. "You win. I'll try to not slam down. But," she added with a drunken twinkle in her eyes, "you have to let me buy you a drink for putting up with my a** when your shift is over."

As far as flirting attempts went, it was a pathetic effort, but in her current state of WHEEEE ALCOHOL, Bindhi didn't notice or much care.

"Mm..." She pondered that for a moment, still smiling softly as she resisted the urge to brush a strand of hair away from the other woman's face. "How about I'll let you buy me a drink when my shift is over if you can manage to walk with me to the diner just down the street. They make a mean cup of decaf coffee and an amazing breakfast that's even better at two in the morning. You can think that one over for a minute, alright?"

Cordelia shook her head at herself, trying not to think about the kind of trouble she was potentially getting herself into as she made her way back over to the bar, placing another order before checking with the kitchen on the status of the potato skins. When the order was up she set it on her tray along with a pear martini. The drink was a little bit smoother; tastier to sip with just the right amount of fruity sweetness.

For a moment, Bindhi was ready to pass on Cordelia's offer. Except... buzzed as she was, the idea of a two a.m. breakfast with coffee sounded amazing. Besides, she'd walked all the way here and done fine considering the amount of pre-gaming she'd managed. It wasn't like another martini or 10 was going to screw her up that badly.

And when Cordy returned with the potato skins and a new martini, Bindhi grinned crookedly and made a finger gun at the other girl.

"You've got a deal, dude. I'll behave and manage a little walk, no problem."

To show that she was really going to try, she picked up the glass of water that Cordy had brought over earlier and drained half of it before seizing one of the skins and nibbling at it blissfully.

"Oh, this is good!"

Almost without thinking, she inhaled the rest of the snack and started on the rest of the plate, taking occasional sips of the martini and raising an eyebrow in appreciation.

"See, I can be good."

"I'm going to hold you to that, Ms Coryn." She flashed the other young woman a grin, lingering at the table a bit longer just to make sure everything was alright before picking up another table. She returned to check in on Bindhi after a bit however, dropping off a white chocolate martini to go along with the slice of vanilla bean cheesecake lightly drizzled with a raspberry sauce.

"Now this is my personal favorite."

Her intentions were good, but Bindhi knew that no matter how well she behaved, no amount of food and water was going to cut into the amount of pre-gaming she'd done prior to dragging herself from the house.

Particularly since she was keeping her blood alcohol levels up with a variety of tasty drinks that came with her food.

And the arrival of the cheesecake and chocolate martini was just one more notch in the belt. Grinning cheerfully, she doing her best to appear as together as possible, she tried each, resisting the urge to inhale them as well.

"I can see why," she exclaimed carefully, to avoid slurring. "This is amazing."

Privately, she figured that the bet she'd made was as good as won.
