[Takes place after this solo!]
Hyakutake was excited. More than a little excited. To the point that she was now bouncing from foot to foot at the outside entrance to Albert's basement room after knocking lightly. She wanted to share her findings, to let him in on the info so he was well-informed for the next visit. Because she was very much planning on taking him with the next time. He'd know better what to look for, and maybe be able to help more on repairing things or knowing what could be repaired...
"Come on, come on, be awake or wake uuuuup."

Yawning and wiping away the sleep from his eyes, Albert stood up from his desk and shuffled to the basement door. He had fallen asleep working on a project again, and the excited knocking at the door had snapped him out of the light sleep he had unintentionally drifted off into.
Pulling the door open, he adjusted his glasses and shoved messy curls out of his face, peering down at Kaida sleepily.
"Hmm? Oh, hello Kaida... is - " he paused to yawn, then continued, "Something the matter?"

Hyakutake grinned up at the tall man, shaking her head. "Nothing's the matter, just..." She bounced again, dehenshining as she did so. "I visited my homeworld again. And I did some tests, and from what I can tell so far, the water there is safe. Safer than bottled water. I mean, more extensive stuff is probably required, but it means I've got a good base for rebuilding so far!" Without further delay, Kaida hugged him, still caught up in her excitement. "I'd love if you came with next time!"

"Did you?" Albert asked, smiling and more than glad to return the hug. He did wish Kaida was a mite bit older (or himself a bit younger, that would be the ideal situation), but beggers could not be choosers and at least the age gap wasn't entirely obscene.
"Travel to another world? What reason would I ever have to refuse such an offer?"

The blonde nuzzled into Albert, reveling in the closeness. "Good, good! It will be a bit before I can go again, but we can just use that time for other things! And planning!" She was so excited! It wasn't every day that one discovered that a distant world, a COMET, had potable water!

"Water is but the first step, Kaida," Albert reminded her gently, although he did little but chuckle at her excitement. "The next steps would be to set up a small greenhouse environment, perhaps. Experiment to see what can be coaxed to grow, even if it is only with our intervention. Sun lamps and the like can be set up with the aid of a generator, for example..."

"Oooooo, I like that plan!" She'd need to start hitting up the library and Google. "Would you mind if I bounced ideas to you, to make sure I'm not doing something impossible?" Kaida knew she had a tendency to dream bigger than she could manage sometimes, and she didn't want to screw up rebuilding her homeworld. She really didn't.

"Of course I don't mind," Albert said, chuckling. "But I suggest we do a little research before attempting too much. While I grant you there won't be many sources on restoring dead worlds out there, there are surely any number of projects devoting to rebuilding damaged ecosystems here on earth." He paused and tilted his head, then smiled at the tiny young woman. "Would you want to research together?"

"Of course I'd want to!" Kaida giggled, snuggling into him again. "Your company is always something I like." She made a content noise. "Maybe...maybe Mama knows of some projects that could be good starting points. It's not her field of expertise, but she's got a lot of friends in the scientific community beyond her field!" At the very least, her mother might, if she was feeling amenable, point her in the right direction of who to ask.

"If you plan to ask her," Albert cautioned, taking Kaida by the hand even as she snuggled into him again, "I would have an ironclad alibi for why you're asking. Otherwise, she may become too curious, and speaking as one myself, a curious person with knowledge of how to research can be very, very dangerous."

The blonde nodded, making a noise of affirmation. "I'll make sure to do so. Just in case she's just not joyous I'm interested in something scientific beyond computers and astronomy." She really hoped that worked, because she didn't want to lie to her mother. She really, really didn't. Or maybe she could figure out something that...wasn't a lie. Just not the whole truth. "I'm...I'm both nervous and excited, Albert. I've got the first step. The first hurdle overcome."

"Good." Tilting his head for a moment, Albert shrugged and then smiled. "So.... shall we head to the library now, my dear? Or would you prefer to go out and celebrate your discovery? I've nothing to do with myself for the day, so if you wish to spend time together I am more than willing to do so."

"Let's go out! With the task ahead of me, I think celebrating the victories will be important with all the failures and dead ends likely ahead!" She looked thoughtful, trying to figure out where best to go. "Oh! There's always IHOP! They're always open no matter the hour, and they're delicious!" She wasn't going to lie, their crepes were pretty damn amazing for a chain place. And their coffee had kept her conscious through many final projects. So many...

"IHOP, hm?" Albert chuckled, eyes crinkling with amusement as he patted Kaida's hand fondly. "Why am I not surprised? You are a college student, after all - and that restaurant is rather infamous among the student class." He didn't reject the idea, however, instead smiling at Kaida and finally beginning to walk away from the house he had stumbled out of not so long ago. "Well, if nothing else, they'll not judge anyone for coming in a bit disheveled, I suppose."

"A student who has been through finals, more importantly! I envy you, you don't have to deal with those anymore." She made a face and moved to keep pace with her boyfriend, quite happy and content. "I think we're just fine. Considering the number of 'Walk of Shamers' they likely get." It was a good end to a very good night.
