Kickboxing was a sport was well as a hobby. Marlo had started it to use as a form of 'anger therapy' and it had become something that now, set his mind at ease and just let his anxiety and stress melt away- all while picturing a few choice faces in the sandbag that he was currently attempting to dislodge from it's stand.

The man had been at it for nearly half and hour, and his shirt was half soaked in sweat, even if it was designer fitness wear. Marlo had crafted an image of himself and the empire he would build, and to go to even a gym in anything less than high end fashion would to him, be a farce of his carefully constructed image and could threaten his standing as a would-be fashion mogul.

Yet for all his upscale outfit, the man didn't seem to mind the fact that if he kept at his current pace, it would stink and he would stink and no matter what he'd need a shower later. He also seemed oblivious to the fact that people also wanted to use the sandbag. He was too zoned into his routine, he'd blocked them out, and was just busy in that moment, picturing how pretty a few faces would look with a broken nose.

Aggression issues never really did get fully settled.

She never thought about pursuing Kick-boxing outside of the classes she took at the gym...but in light of recent events, she was definitely considering changing that. What was a hobby and a way to stay in shape and exercise might also became a means of defense and offense after running into that weird guy in the military outfit...

Finding someone to practice that with outside of class though, and seriously mean it, would be something else...but there was always the sandbag until then! It was with this thought in mind that Olga made her way through the machines, bobbing and weaving around other gym participants until she reached the sandbag she wanted to hit--

Only to find someone working it already. Working it hard none the less...and aggressively.

She stared for a moment...and that moment ended up turning into more than few minutes. Her cheeks gradually growing redder and redder the longer she stared. Hot guys. Everywhere. No wonder her parents were worried about her leaving the country to come to the big city! The biceps...the abs...the writing fuel.

After a moment, she made something of an awkward squeak, that was a mix of wanting to get his attention to inquire about the sandbag, the awe of being in the presence of hotness, and also wanting to sit down and write right now.

The squeak is what got him. It came the same time he hit the sandbag, causing a sort of shock that he might have done something. Pasuing to look behind him, then at himself, Marlo let out a silent 'Oh."

It was the kind of 'Oh' you said when you realized something very obvious but hadn't really even paid it any mind until that moment. His mind being 'well I've ecrtainly been getting into it haven't I' and 'I think I startled her?' Followed by a 'what is so startling about me?'

He hadn't noticed the side eye glares from men who'd been hoping he'd leave the sandbag soon enough.

"Sorry, I tend to forget myself when practicing. I assume you needed it?" Motioning to the equipment he couldn't help but notice the red. "...... I didn't do something did I?" Then - "Ah, right, just let me wipe it down. I almost forgot to do that."

Okay. Play it cool. Play it cool, Olga. You were in the presence of hotness all the time. This wasn't anything new. No. For the sake of pancakes, she wrote the smuttiest of things, went into the depths of the gutter and beyond, and yet she could ooze confidence over the monitor--but not so much in real life.

Sigh.

"Uh--" She cleared her throat, and then tried again. "Not so much that I needed it...but I wanted it! Ah--" She raised a hand, as if to stop him. "You're kick-boxing, yeah? Er...fancy yourself a live sandbag?" She jabbed a thumb at herself. "I'm looking for some practice and you look well--pretty pro."

But also just pretty.

If this were a romance novel this would have been the part where Marlo smirked and asked if there was something else she might have wanted from him.

But this was no romantic fiction, and Marlo was not so crass as to ever been that forward, (in public anyway). So it was that he gave a small nod, looking her up and down to size her up.

In a still very non-romantic way.

"Sandbags don't talk or punch back- I'd prefer a sparring partner." There was a hint of a smile in his own jest, but just a hint. "And no, I do it as a sort of therapy. Keeps the mind sharp, works off the wine and dessert I indulge in the night before." The small smile got a bit wider, "Well, and it helps to think that it's a co-work's face I am not to particularly fond of, though I'm told that such thinking doesn't help."

He motioned to a nearby empty area where it would be safe to practice. "Marlo by the way, Marlo Xanis."

Unconsciously, Olga puffed up a bit as if to say she was more than competent for the unspoken assessment. While she didn't fancy herself quiet as intense at kick-boxing as the young man before her, she hoped with time and practice, she would be! Plus if she wanted to get better, it was good to pit herself against people like him who were...doing it as therapy.

Wow. She really needed to step it up then.

She grinned widely in response, and pumped both of her fists. "Alright!" She picked up her gym bag, and gave a laugh. "Hey, whatever motivates you, yeah?" She moved towards the area he gestured too, and gave him a salute. "Olga! Sol Olga Sayle! It's nice to meet you, Marlo!" Her grin turned into a fox eyed one as she knelt, and riffled through her gym bag for her hand wraps and her gloves. She started to apply her wraps, looking up at him.

"I promise to try and keep up...but I don't think I'm quite at the level you're at!"

He liked her. Marlo was a guy who did one impression, and was fixed. Olga so far, had been friendly and so far, hadn't commented on his clothes, his hair, his 'just doing it for looks' that so many guys loved to comment on- plus she did kickboxing. So as simple as could be, Marlo assessed and decided he liked Olga.

Which was somewhat a feat in and of itself.

"Honestly, it doesnt matter a person's level, there is always something you can improve on." As he got his own hand wraps redone, he looked to some of the other gym go-ers.
"Or just prove some people wrong about misconceptions but let's pretend that we don't care about images shall we?" Done, he walked to the area and shrugged. "How would you like to begin and, do you converse or remain silent when training?"

The only commenting Olga was doing was mental, and involved: hot guy working out and looking good doing it. Always classic and good material for a story. Always.

"Very true!" She grinned, making quick work of her hand wraps. Olga laughed, jumping back up to her feet and raising her fists. She bounced lightly back and forth on her feet, and let out a laugh. "Oh, I don't care about images!" Her black eyes then rolled up to the ceiling in thought, briefly. "Weeeeeeell~" She started, and then shrugged. "I guess that depends on how serious you want to get? I mean...if we pop our mouth guards in I guess we'll be going hardcore....but can't talk! So...up to you!"

She rolled her shoulders in anticipation. "Or if you just want to trade some blows like this, I'm down for that too!" Her grin turned fox eyed. "Plus no mouth guards---so we can talk but uh---no face shots, yeah? Anything else is fair game!"

In another world, Marlo would have flexed for her, but sadly in this one, all he did was warm up stretches.
"How about just some practice on movements then? Better than impact, and, less chance we'll leave one another with any marks. I can't go to a meeting with a black eye unfortunately."

He could, but it wouldn't go over well.

He stepped forward, bringing his body immediately into a twist, leg aimed at her midsection.
"I would never hit a lady in the face." His words were honey sweet, a small jest to the truth, if they went full on, all bets would have been off.
"Plus, not when she seems she has a story to tell." Not many women took up a man's challenge after all.

"How about movements and hits!" Olga piped up eagerly. "Just no face shots--gee--I wouldn't want to send you off with a black eye, so no worries!" She was still lightly bouncing on her feet, and her fists raised. "I really want--and need-- the practice so movements and hits, please!"

Olga was caught off guard by the sudden movement, and took the hit with an 'oof' mixed with a laugh. "Well, good thing I'm not a lady!" She grinned like a fiend at him, and shook herself off before she slid back into position. Okay. She was just surprised...but she was ready for real now! She lunged at him, looking like she was going to come in for a punch to his midsection with her right, but feinted at the most moment and swung with her left.

"Oh--I tell all kinds of stories." Olga replied cheekily. "I'm working on being a novelist!"

The sad part is he wouldn't mind a black eye- he'd get pity looks at the office and a day off. Wanted or not, and he knew he was due for one. Even Elzo said as much.
"Alright then." Hit, he grunted out as he went back, lining his body to prevent more an area for her to target.

"Every woman is a lady, no matter what one says otherwise." He smiled. "or punches to show otherwise."

It was nice to banter with someone, rather than exchange blows like grunting giants as was so often the common aid in training.
"That must be interesting. Fantasy? Horror?" He could use a bit of horror fiction really he thought, aiming for an uppercut to her side.

Olga laughed, delighted. "Well, now I just want to prove you wrong!" She grinned. "But otherwise, you're bringing chivalry back!"

She nodded her head. "Yeah, it is!" Her grin widened as she circled around him, and she shot out an arm to block his uppercut. She immediately followed it up with a kick for his own side. "More like romance---so fantasy-romance and horror-romance and romance-romance and just about any other genre but attached with romance."

Oh Olga, if only you knew.

If you knew.

Marlo held back a laugh at the notion he was bringing back chivalry. He was quite sure a few women would claim otherwise. The kick was blocked, yet it made him change stances before attempting a leg sweep. Once made he moved to put some distance between them.

"Romance?" She didn't look the type to be all wide and starry eyed over such things. "Mind if I ask what your latest work is? I do my best to support the arts. Literary included."

"Oop---" Olga let out a breath of air as she was swept off her feet (in a very not romantic way). She hit the padded floor on her bottom, her feet landing next with a loud plop in front of her. She let out a laugh once the initial surprise was over, and immediately pushed herself back up to her feet.

"And this is why it's way better to seriously practice with someone else!"

She ducked in with a punch to his mid-section, and then another.

"Yeah! Romance! Well---" She paused for a moment. "I write shorts as commissions for people on tumblr---but my own personal stuff? I'm currently working on a huge collection of short stories--" Lots of smutty short stories "--to compile into one large novel, yeah? I also have just one big novel I'm working on right now---but it's more of a back burner thing right now since I just started college." She grinned. "What about you, huh? What do you do out there in the adult world?"

It was always better with a partners. Partners could fight back. Granted, when they fell, Marlo paused, making sure he'd not actually caused injury. When Olga stood, he relaxed- too soon it would seem, as she quickly knocked some air from his lungs.
"You do commission work?" He didn't know that was a thing, (though, he vaguely knew about tumblr, mostly because he had to hire some one to run it along with a few other social media outlets).

"Impressive-" Mirroring her movements he waited for an opening while he grinned, "-Perhaps I'll have to have you write me something then."

"As for what I do." He came in close, aiming to tangle her arm with his, making her unable to hit and rely on foot work, "I tend to be the focus of such stories. Marlo Xanis, CEO of the Xanis Hotel chain and it's various holdings if that rings any bells."
