The Island of Water would be found to the top right of the garden. The fauna here seemed particularly lush and vibrant, despite the leaves being a jet black. Dew would stick to your clothes as you brushed through what was almost like a jungle. It would open into a clearing, however, with a large lake within, the water branching off both sides to flow ff into the rest of the Water Garden. The great gate, in the Garden Wall would be found within a temple that stood within the lake, built up to decorate the gate itself. Mers and other aquatic Anthros could also explore a curious glowing reef found below the island.
The cat would find himself drawn to the beauty and refreshing nature of this Island.

Cat continued his journey or 'adventure' as Fox would call it to the Island of Water. While it wasn't exactly a long trek, it seemed like ages. His traveling companion was a definitely a handful yet the feline knew he could handle it - granted he wasn't shoved through any more portals. As they proceeded Cat kept a wary eye on the various vegetation they passed along the way. "Do you think any of this stuff causes rashes?" It was strange seeing blackened leaves on plants that were very much healthy and thriving. Or so it seemed by the bright accents they contained. He really hoped it didn't. Having to search for these locks and keys while being super itchy was not going to be fun. Despite his concern for possible health issues, Cat seemed a lot more relaxed as he continued deeper down the trail. He even sported a small smile now and then. "I've never seen anything like it... At least I don't recall... can't recall." He sighed at the inability to recall anything yet. "But it seems familiar, doesn't it..?" He turned to look at Fox and reached out, grabbing his arm to pull him away from a certain plant. "Don't touch that one. That'll definitely give you a nasty rash." He paused and just stared at the other for a moment. "...Why did I say that?"

The entire time they traveled from the main plaza toward the water island fox was running circles around cat, exploring everything he dared to explore even as cat stared around cautiously. "I don't know! guess we will find out if it does if we have to touch it!" Fox chirped as he looked around at the moist vegetation "i'm so picking where we go next" fox said looking over his shoulder at the island billowing smoke, eyes flashing excitedly. Fox wasn't paying attention to his path as he stared at the island and was quickly jerked from his route as cat grabbed his arm and scolded him not to touch something. Fox's head tilted to the side as he looked at cat then back to the strange looking plant before back to cat, just as confused as him "I don't know..." fox regained a small amount of seriousness that he hadn't shown in a while "I can't really remember anything, but you seem familiar, and this place does... and we have both said things we don't understand, like its instinct, and when you call me a moron it doesn't seem like you are being mean even though I know calling someone a moron is usually mean..." the smile had faded from Fox's face as the slight confusion and fear surfaced and finally broaching the subject of their lost memories, without even realizing he was doing it Fox moved his hand down cats arm to hold his hand, it wasn't a romantic gesture for the boy, more like one that was meant to be a sign of comfort between two friends.

Cat's fur bristled only momentarily at the touch but soon allowed his hand to be held. "....Well... Let's just continue. Maybe we'll find answers as we proceed." He nodded. It was slightly awkward for him due to not remembering much of anything. He felt like he could trust Fox with his life but... what if Fox wasn't actually his friend? What if they were enemies before losing their memories? It was all very frustrating and Cat proceeded down the path to where they got to the heart of the island. "What do you suppose we're looking for exactly?" The lock or key could be metaphorical after all.

Fox noted that cat seemed uncomfortable with the touch but held on regardless, he didn't have the doubts that the cat did, something told him that this cat was his friend, and fox liked to listen to that voice because that little voice didn't trust many. "Well if they are metaphorical that I suppose we hope for the best and search the whole island" fox offered as he glanced around "maybe we should start at the highest point so we can get a better look at everything" fox offered as he looked up toward the peak of the island.

Cat was about to protest but realized even if they couldn't see the lock or keys from that height, they could map out the area. Which would be useful in case if anything happened. "...I suppose..." He took a moment's pause before heading off to find higher ground. "Let's try this way?" Of course he was going to try and find the safest route to higher ground. No need to risk injury in the strange yet comforting land.

Fox raised an eyebrow as cat wanted to take the least blocked path and shrugged he had just been planning on blowing through the foliage. "Sure I guess, but I'm bored, let's race!" He shouted as he began running down the path that cat had chosen for them, this island was so boring, he wanted to go to fire island so he needed to find the lock and key the creatures had spoken of here so they could move on.

Cat nearly had a heart attack when Fox bolted off. "W-wait you idiot!" He hissed. He doubted the fire-theme canine heard him and heaved a sigh before carefully jogging off after him. He kept his eyes on the move as they proceeded down the path. They had no idea about this place - well that they could remember. So why, out of all things, would Fox risk his life to find some locks and keys? The feline simply grumbled to himself as he continued his jogging pace.

Fox was giggling wildly as he ran through the underbrush and was leaping over anything that looked dangerous or solid so he wouldn't trip and fall on his face. He was having so much fun! At least he was until he didn't see a particularly solid vine that caught him around the chest and clothes lined the poor boy. A loud thump resounded as he landed flat on his back in the soft undergrowth with a "oomph" exiting his lungs as he wrapped his arms around his aching ribs.

As Fox fell to the floor, there'd be a ringing that'd be heard that'd echo through the island and Cat's mind, causing a small flashback of being the one laying on the floor, children laughing at a younger version of himself there, singing in a mocking tone a familiar name, which soon faded with the flashback moments after it began.
Taisie.
To add insult to the injury, something glowing and blue fell out of the foliage above and landed on Fox's chest: A small Key.

Cat managed to catch up to Fox only to find him laying on his back. His ears pressed back as he began to get closer to ensure the other was okay yet the ringing that echoed caused him to pause in mild panic. His eyes went wide as a flashback played across his vision. "W-what....?" He stood frozen and forced back tears that wished to surfaced with the painful vision. "....Taisie.. That's..." He stepped back with unsteady steps and brought his hands to his head, shaking it back and forth. "...I don't understand.. Why... why..." He wanted to break down and cry but steeled himself. Just as quickly as those visions came they disappeared but the ache in the feline's chest lingered and held a vicious hold. It was as if it were memories purposely suppressed, ones better left forgotten. Yet through the pain there was some truth. His name? Was Taisie what he was called? He wiped away the few tears that dropped and realized he had time to feel sorry for himself later. Fox laid there and needed help. With shaking steps he got closer to the canine and knelt down. "Fox are you okay..?" He looked the other over for injuries and found the key. "What..?"
