User Image The jungle had been his home for years; for his entire life honestly. He had ventured out once before. And it only lasted a short while. He was there long enough to witness the Kalona attack, the war that raged all along the lands, before he quickly turned the other way, and went back to his temple home. Hunahpu stayed there for a long time, his home littered with scratch marks and new plants he had found. But, he had learned all he could. There was nothing he didn’t know about the jungle; nothing he couldn’t recite. And because of that, his drive in his home was faltering. He no longer found interest in the world, and he was growing depressed. Hunahpu’s wings folded slightly as he stared toward the edge of the jungle, his tail flicking lightly behind him. He didn’t think this was a bad idea, but at the same time… He wasn’t certain that he could survive out there, wasn’t certain that his brother would like him leaving the Jungle.

The Hippo’Suti frowned slightly and cocked his head to the side, analyzing the ridgeline easily. The tip of his tail gave a small flick, and he thought about turning back. He’d been there for hours, standing and pacing in front of the tree line. So long that night had fallen. But it didn’t bother him, he was used to the dark of night. It was when hunting was the best. His head tilted the other way, before he breathed out a sigh, and shook out his fur. His long horns caught some of his hair, and it took another small shake to get the threads to fall back and join the rest of his mane. He had to do this; he had to get out and learn more. That, or linger in the temple and wait for his mother to come find him. And that would never bode well.

After a few more moments of hesitation, the stallion snorted and clenched a claw lightly against the ground. He couldn’t keep this up. He couldn’t continue to hold himself back. He was a prince of the jungle and by the Gods he would do as he pleased! He took a deep breath, before moving forward, claws crushing branches and splitting twigs as he moved. After a few moments, he broke the tree line, and he was moving out into open fields that looked so much different than the world he grew up in. His eyes flickered up, and he stared, mouth opening in awe as he stared at the sky. He’d never seen this many stars in one spot… The trees always blocked the view in the jungle. But here… There were billions. So many that he couldn’t count.

”Bonito…”

The forest was always home to her, though anywhere is home under the stars, there is her extended family where she once never felt alone. Life could be funny that way though, what you once thought would always be home sometimes is the just the start and your true home can lie somewhere entirely unexpected. It seemed so long ago since she awoke to that fact.

So much had happened in her life some sad and others very happy, she had wonderful children, but also lost love. She had fell into depression but soon she began to be cleared again with the arrival of her sister and an old friend. Her heart started to mend, but still as much as she loves the stars she finds a loneliness in them now.

She spends her evenings wondering the forest searching the stars and walking under the moon searching for her next path in life and where the light of her mother would lead her next. She had traveled farther then she had in a long while and came to a large open field bathed in the moons light with the stars twinkling gently in the sky. She walked out further into the field feeling a little more energized her hooves and horn's glow seemingly grow more intense and she gave a small smile to the sky. "Hello my brothers and sisters, you look well rested tonight."

It was then she felt the presence of another coming into the field, she glanced in the direction she felt the presence and saw a stallion unlike any she had seen before, he seemed foreign to say the least, but more so then that he somehow felt familiar, but how she couldn't place her horn on how or why yet. She looked towards him, not sure if he noticed her or not as he too seemed to be glancing at the stars and almost entranced by them. Not wanting to disturb him she stayed as silent as her astral family feeling at peace with them. She smiled at the wonderment in the stallions eyes as her bells played a gentle melody with a peaceful breeze that swept through the field.
