SO HEY WHO'S GOING? Who plans to go? Who's already there? What are you majoring in, or what are you planning to major in? Minor?
I'm also kind of curious about the schools that everyone applied to and where you got in. Which ones will you consider attending? What is/was your dream school?
Yeah, I admit it, I'm just another obsessed college-bound senior. But I'm genuinely curious, so. :3
Last but certainly not least, what do you plan on doing as a career, and how will college help you get there?
Tell me if I missed something on the poll. I'll be happy to add it and you can all get more money by voting again. Yay. :]

Well, right now Im set up to go to a local community college in my hometown to get my Associate of Arts degree. It's a 2 year program and it's basically like taking the first 2 years of college for cheaper. That way I can get the basics out of the way. Then Im going to transfer to a bigger college, which Im not sure of yet. Im gonna be thinking about that while I go to community college. I might go to University of Alabama because my brother lives right down the street from there but like I said Im not sure.
My major? Im going to try and major in programing. I love computers and applications. Im better at computer software than computer hardware but Im horrible at math which is a must for programing. Im not worried about it though cause I plan on working hard.
My minor? Im going to minor in graphic design. I took a graphic arts course in my last year of highschool and I did my senior project on animation using Macromedia Flash. I was going to go to school to major in grapich design but it was steering me more to the marketing side of graphics and I didn't want to go that way. I wanted to do something more with entertainment. But learning the applications that are involved I think will help me out.
What I plan on doing is going into game design if I can. I've always liked the thought of being involved in making a game. I love games myself and would just like to see something that I helped make, be loved by alot of gamers. It also alows me to get into my more imaginative side.
So as of now, those are my plans for teh skool. 3nodding

I got accepted to Smith and American. Smith is a huuuuge lesbian school (it's all girls and in the dyke capital of the USA) and it gave me some kind of prestigious scholarship... but American gave me a lot of money. And I love the school alot more.

AkureiKnight- Awesome! I like your plans. Game design sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. ^___^
Hmmm...the University of Alabama. I don't know much about it, but they offered me a $78,000 scholarship to go there. Shhh. I refused, though, I live in a totally liberal area and I was afraid I'd be lynched or something for being Asian/gay/atheist/out/etc. Sorry about my twisted perception of the place! T_____T I know I'm just paranoid.
BakaTulip- Wow, nice! I hadn't heard of either institution until now, but they look excellent. And yay for scholarship money! XD Too bad none of the colleges I want to go to will give me anything. Aww. Hahaha.

Kage - Yeah, I know. People think Alabama is bad but honestly I think it depends on where you are. Though I believe that really applies to any place in Amercia.

My friend says everyone there is either a lesbian or a lesbian until they graduate XD. She also says she went to a part there and some girl walked up to her, stuck her hand in her crotch and asked her dance. O_O;;;

Erk, might be good to answer my own post.
I'm dead set on becoming a veterinarian (not a vet tech, a DVM). I've been planning for it for years.
I applied to a couple of California State Universities and all but two of the University of California campuses. I also applied to private institutions Pitzer College, Claremont McKenna College, and Cornell University. I basically don't have a shot at Cornell, but I'm damn lucky so I tried anyway. And my girlfriend is heading into the Ivy League, so I wanted to take the chance to join her if I could. :[
The University of California, Davis was basically my dream school. I was pretty bent on going there because it had a strong veterinary program and is a very good target for students heading into vetmed (it has the best vet school in the country). And then I got into the Universitry of California at San Diego, and suddenly I wasn't so sure. UCSD is much more prestigious and is ranked higher than Davis, and it also havs an excellent biology program and a lot of students going into medicine. I'll also be applying to vet school anyway.
I have so far been accepted by every CSU and almost every UC I applied to--the exception being UCLA, which I hadn't expected to get into anyway. I skipped only the two lowest UC campuses, and I'll probably be rejected from UC Berkeley (the top UC school), but I've a pretty good range as is. I'm certain I'll get into Pitzer, Claremont McKenna is a fairly clear shot, but I'm basically screwed for Cornell.
Anyway, that's where I am with all this.

I took an AP Psych class last year and had a great time with it. Although if you asked me for a specific, concise summary of what I learned, I'd probably just tell you that Freud was an a**. XD p***s envy, my butt.

Yeah...I knew that that was a completely unreasonable idea, but I couldn't help being afraid of it anyway. I'm used to a very odd environment--my school is 70% Asian (I'm Chinese) and we're basically radical on issues such as gay rights/marriage and abortion. The Bay Area, California is one of the most liberal regions in the nation. I do know that it gets incredibly conservative in the Orange County region of Cali, but what I've seen isn't nearly as bad violence-wise. I definitely hear too many horror stories of the Midwest and Deep South to have a comfortably unbiased perception of it. T___T

I am currently a sophmore in high school. x.x;
I am definitely looking into going to college because 1) I don't like high school, 2) I can't wait to start an independent life, and 3) college is when I finally get to learn about stuff that interests me. Not like there isn't already stuff in high school that interests me, but I get to focus on my interestings in college. 3nodding
I'm planning to major in business and minor in English or psychology. I want to get my MBA and then my law degree (hopefully). I'm still not sure if I want to do management or international business... my mom kinda flipped a s**t when I said international business because apparently it doesn't do well... but who knows. ^^;;
Columbia is a definite goal because it's my dream school. *drool* Or somewhere in New York because I love New York. Boston is good, too, because I'm a hardcore Masshole. xd I really do love Boston, too. <3
Am I being too nerdy? whee
Copied and pasted response from the Shoujo-ai Sorority guild. XD
To Kage: Hehe, veterinarian is cool. ^^ One of my best friends is huge on animals, too.
To AkureiKinght: Game design sounds awesome! It should be tons of fun. ^^
To Baka: I love psychology. >w< The two types you want to go into sound really interesting, too. 3nodding

Kage - Yeah I know what you're talking about with the hate crimes. But all I know is my brother's girlfriend is bi and they both live near UoA. Im not sure if she's out though, you know? When I lived in Alabama a few years ago I didnt know I was bi. I dont plan on coming out to anyone though if I do go there, unless I know they dont care about stuff like that and will keep their mouth shut.
Baka - Oh well, Lesbian school or not, I wouldn't mind going. Cause as Kage said, it's sounds scarey but nice. xd
Pride - Business (shudders) lol Business would kill me

I really would like to be out at school, though; I'm basically out and pretty damn blatant at my high school, and I love the honest feeling about it. It also makes me kind of a strong force there. O: So yeah, I love the feeling and I want to feel safe and comfortable enough to be out at my college, too. :3
