It had been sheer luck that a youma had wandered into their area when the two had first met up to patrol for the night. Well.. maybe bad luck for the youma, because as soon as it's aura had popped up on their radar it was easily hunted down, just a couple of alleys over.
For the two overzealous and hands-on senshi the youma didn't stand a chance. Juno was able to wrangle and corner the thing with her speed and agility. And with the power behind Puck's punches it hadn't even taken 10 minutes altogether between finding the youma, coraling it in, and taking it out. For Juno it was fun and exhilirating, she didn't even mind sharing the youma with Puck, who when they worked together added a whole new set of moves and skills she could try. It was a nice work out, and she was slightly out of breath but otherwise no worse for wear. Sauntering over to Puck and the youma dust she lifted a fist out to him as she grinned, beckoning him for the show of 'job well done' she'd learned in her days of highschool volleyball. A fist bump.
"Not a bad way to start night huh? One down, plenty to go." She mused. The night was young and who knew what they could get into before it was over.

Puck grinned in return and recognizing Juno's gesture bumped his fist into hers. "Not a bad way to start at all." It had been a good fight -- the youma wasn't some wimpy little monster, but it wasn't so big as to pose a serious danger to the two senshi. Just enough to work up a sweat dusting it. Patrolling with her was fun. She was an excellent and ferocious fighter, as he'd discovered when they had sparred, and had moves and strategies he would never have even considered trying. It was a revelation to him to fight with something other than your fists and head -- of course, that's what he primarily fought with, not having her agility or limberness. But you work with what you have, and what he had was a bulldog-like toughness, the same sort of power a rugby player had. It was good working with a partner, too. He was beginning to discover that he was at his best when he was paired with someone in a battle. Going it alone just wasn't his cuppa. "We'll have to keep our senses on alert for the next one," he nodded as he cracked his knuckles in anticipation. He didn't even bother wiping the youma dust from his fuku; he was sure that before the night was over there'd be more of it.

One of the first things that any senshi should learn, and that any good teacher should press, was that patrolling together was more fun and much much safer than going it alone. So it was lucky that Puck was already picking up on the lesson even despite Juno's ineptitude in warning him.
Fist sufficently bumped, she retracted her hand with amusement letting it come to rest on her hips as she glanced out around them. She was hunting for an aura to hunt out next, after rediscovering the great important of paying attention to them. But much to her disappointment there was no Chaos to be found at the moment. Just hers and his. Had she been on her own that realization would have annoyed her, but with him there she found she didn't care in the same way she would have. His enthusiasm brought another grin from the Amazon, but in the end she had to offer him a shrug. "Does not feel like there are any more nearby. So we will have to walk a bit to find more I think."
Lifting a hand to motion to the left, a direction she'd chosen simply by chance, she began to stroll along. Maybe later she'd challenge him to a race, even though (or perhaps because) she'd likely destroy him between long legs and super powers, but for the time being she was simply regaining her breath, letting her heart rate slow down, and enjoying the slightly cooler temperature of the night. Arms crossing behind her head, she mused thoughtfully and contentedly. "You are getting used to this senshi stuff now, yes?"
"Have you found cool powers yet? Or seen talking cat?"tatterpixie *snickers at Puck* heart Two peas in a pod - Juno wears youma dust or blood as war paint sometimes when she's being scary.

"Yeah," Puck replied as he followed her lead, keeping in step with her as best he could given her long legs and his not-as-long stride. "I'm getting used to it. It's feeling more… right, I suppose is the word. Things are coming more naturally for me with it. Like the added speed and stamina and strength. And I don't feel as stupid walking about in this." He indicated his fuku with a smirk. Actually, he rather liked the uniform he wore as a senshi, with its ragged, tattered hems and long shorts and boots. He knew it could have been a lot worse. Shaking his head, he glanced over at her. "No, I haven't had the opportunity I reckon for my powers to show up yet. Though I know I'm supposed to have some kind of magical attack or whatever." He still hoped it was something awesome. "And I have met a talking cat -- was awakened by one, actually. His name is Faust." Thinking about the large magical feline put a smile on his lips. "Big black fellow with a bob tail. He's a pretty cool cat. Though not a very good teacher," he laughed. "What about you?" he asked. "You've been at this longer than I have. What's your power?" Iris_virus Ahahahah that is so awesome XD and so something Puck would emulate XD

Juno's awakening, much like her entire time as a senshi was a little different. She had had a task upon awakening and a team on top of that, though it had taken her a little while to find them in the beginning. It wasn't like many senshi who woke up and ran around clueless and uncertain until someone with more experience could clue them in. But nonetheless she could relate with the feelings of 'rightness' and 'natural'. When everything had went bad it had seemed like her life had ended and in that time of need her senshi side and going hunting at night was the only thing that felt 'right' for the girl.
"It is not a bad fuku." She mused with a snort as he motioned to it. "You could have had skirt or shorts that are very very short." Not that she minded her skirt or anything, but she knew enough to know that most boys weren't fans of wearing skirts.
She listened with soft interest as he spoke of Faust, having not met many cats other than Diana, and she gave a soft look of surprise when he mentioned still not knowing what his powers were. Usually people just went and used them in their first fight.
"Do you not know the words?" Juno really wasn't sure why in the world he wouldn't know them. But then.. if he was strong enough that he didn't even need his powers that was all the better in her opinion. She had tons of respect for that.
"I uh..." She hesitated pretty obviously when he asked about her own power, a frown touching her lips briefly. But in the end she shrugged, no point in making it an awkward evening. "My power makes a shield of vines and branches. Not for me though. For my team to be protected behind while I fight."

Puck shook his head. "I… don't think so? Faust said I'd know them instinctively when I needed them. Guess I haven't needed my powers yet," he shrugged. That both made him feel a bit proud of his native fighting abilities and concerned that his magic hadn't manifested yet. What if it sucked? What if it was something useless and lame, weak enough that it would actually interfere in a fight? He really didn't know -- no-one had told him anything about it except Faust, and the cat had been more than a little vague. "That sounds like a cool power," he nodded approvingly. "Like a jungle canopy. Heh, I reckon that follows with the whole 'senshi of canopies' bit, right? Cover the others and shield them from the battle." He had a lot more respect for the super senshi, more than he already had (which was a lot, truth be told), with her power that protected her friends from fallout from combat. It didn't even occur to him to ask whether or not she had been part of a team in the past, despite her mentioning protecting her team. He was now too focused on powers. "That'd mean mine would have something to do with the woods, like a forest thing, right?" He was dying to know now what his powers were. She had said once that they were 'alike' -- maybe that meant their powers could work together?

She seemed to think for a moment, before giving a mild shrug. "I do not know. Maybe is different for regular senshi and you just know when you know."
Once upon a time she'd been very proud of her powers, even without them being cool and offensive. But with the 'issues' she had connected to her team her powers were now just a sick reminder. Which was why she didn't use them even though she technically could as long as another senshi was present. Even his approval, which was worth plenty, wasn't enough in this particular case and she was happy to try and gloss over it. "Yes your powers are related to what you are the senshi of."
"Senshi of humidity makes it damp and hard to breathe. Senshi of rainfall can make it rain stinging rain." She explained thoughtfully before glancing back over to him. "Your power will have sometime to do with forest, but whether attack, support, or defense I do not know."
"I guess you cannot rush though. If you do not know the words yet. Unless you want me to beat on you until they come to you...?" Juno was joking of course, a giant teasing grin on her face. He probably didn't want or need to know that badly. It'd come in time, when the perfect moment arrived.

Puck nodded as he absorbed the information. So he'd guessed right, his powers would have something to do with forests. Maybe he'd drop a tree on his enemy! That'd be a cool power. Or sprout up an entire forest! That would also be cool. Maybe it had something to do with leaves. It was going to drive him slightly crazy, this not knowing. He was not a terribly patient man. He grinned as she offered to beat it out of him. "Don't tempt me," he joked back with a laugh. "I've been slightly obsessed with this since Faust told me about it. But, as you said, the words will come when they come. I shouldn't try and force them, I guess." They walked in silence for a bit, Puck lost in speculation. "Oh," he finally said, "what do you know about, um, planets and moons and like that?" He shrugged almost sheepishly. "See, I think I've been to my place. I went on accident -- I pushed a button on my phone and there I was. Don't think it's a planet, coz there was another huge planet up in the sky. Probably a moon. It… felt like my place." He shrugged again and looked up at her hopefully.

Juno couldn't help but grin even more when he joked about being tempted. She could understand excitement and impatience and she genuinely hoped that when the time came that he got something cool. Which reminded her of information that she piped up with. "Oh. Also you get more than one magic. When you get more powerful like me. I have weaker magic and stronger magic. The eternal ones have even more magics."
"I do not know if they are all the same and just more powerful or if they can be different. Other senshi would know better about something like that."
While he was lost in thinking about powers and what his might be Juno's eyes were still out and about, watching for trouble that wasn't coming. She still couldn't feel even the slightest ping of Chaos on her radar. Apparently they must have all gotten the memo that there were two a** kickers out looking for them.
The next question that sounded was another one that was better left for a different senshi, and it made Juno so much as miss a step, before she recovered and continued on. A hand lifted to rub her forehead a little, as a frown hitched across her lips. "I have not been to Juno in this lifetime. Only the moon twice." Once with everyone else when the ghost of the Moon Queen had saved them all a large scaled ambush and once on her own when she was searching for Chibimoon when she left. Neither one did she particularly want to think about, which was perhaps why her response to him was a little on the snappy side. "Look. Ask regular senshi those kind of things."
"I am not normal. I am not like you.." She sighed, and it was enough to make her stop again, seeming to make an angry expression at the sigh that had escaped her. Weak. tatterpixie And off to work with me, but expect an info dump in the next post if he asks the right questions. XD heart

More magic? Puck's brown eyes lit up and he grinned wider. That was almost too good to be true. Maybe if his regular magic sucked, his more advanced magic would make up for it. He caught Juno's slight stumble after his question and moved to steady her, though she recovered on her own. Had he said something wrong? She wasn't the sort of person he wanted angry at him, for multiple reasons, not the least of which was he liked her. He almost asked about the Moon when she mentioned it, but he didn't want to put his foot in his mouth again so quickly. (He was quite sure he'd do it again at some point.) And then she snapped at him. A frown crossed his face -- he didn't like being snapped at -- but realized pretty quickly he must have touched a raw nerve with the tall super senshi and immediately felt a tinge of regret for doing so. Still, he pressed on, knowing it might get him beaten up. "Okay, look, you keep mentioning 'regular' senshi. What about you is so different, apart from the fact that you're bloody awesome?" He hoped the compliment would ease the probing nature of his question. He was curious now, and had to know. Iris_virus He's not as smooth as he thinks he is XD

She didn't mean to snap at him really. It had been those images in her head, the memories of Chibimoon.. so excited and happy to see her grandmother Queen Serenity, when things were good.. transposed right on top of the image of her searching the deathly quiet moon when her princess had suddenly disappeared. It was the sick ache of longing for someone she'd swore she had nothing but hatred for. That was what had turned her tone and mood so quickly. And when Puck pressed further, even in his cautious way, Juno only bristled further.
Had it been anyone else it would have been simple. She would have strolled over, punched them once in the face (even though it was entirely undeserving) and then ran off to go try and bury the memories again.
But it wasn't just anyone. And Juno's fingers pressed hard against her forehead as if trying to will away a headache as she tried to decide what to do. He at least deserved to know why she was being a b***h, she supposed. Just a few words would do and then maybe he'd take her advice and not ask again. "I do not belong here." She stated matter of factly, before shaking her head once more. "No.. I mean.. I do not belong now." That was probably no more helpful to Puck, who lacked the experiences in senshihood to comprehend what she was talking about.
Everyone had always been better than her at this. Chibimoon, Ceres, Vesta. They were smarter, better at speaking, they just understood things in a way Juno never would. So when she tried to explain it was slightly jumbled and frusterating and the Brazilian began to pace mindlessly back and forth. "All senshi had lives in the past. 1000 years ago, when my Princess' grandmother was Queen of Silver Millenium. Something happened... Chaos I guess, I do not know. But every senshi's crystal was sent to be made again. In people much later." Reincarnation.
"In people now." Even though her eyes never left her pacing path a hand motioned out towards him. Did he know he had a past life?
"But I.. well we.. the Amazon Quartet are not supposed to be now. We were supposed to be later. In the future with our princess Small Lady."
"But things were wrong. Something happened that made Small Lady travel from the future back to now.. and we woke up early." She didn't even bother to mention the other 'time' or dimension or whatever it was before that when she had been corrupted and done horrible things. It was all so confusing for her and she had memories of it, it would be near unintelligible to someone who hadn't been indoctrinated yet to all the weird s**t that truly went down in the world of magic.
She should have stopped at that point, her point made. It was what she had meant whenever she said 'regular'. And yet... now that she was talking it just kept spilling out of her, the word vomit spilling from her like a waterfall becoming almost as frantic as her quick steps back and forth.
"When you wake you have no mission set ahead of you. Maybe just to beat Chaos. You make your choice and future. But when I woke up it was different. Diana woke us up in Brazilian and sent message. I had mission set out in front of me. Go to American. Find sisters and form the Amazon quartet. Find and protect our princess." She was talking so fast there was hardly a place for breath in between the words.
"And I did! I did all these things. I leave my family and dreams behind in Brazil. I found Ceres and Vesta and Pallas. I found Chibimoon. We were all together, even if we were not in the right time. I protected her in many battles. I tried to help her be happy."
Her pacing stopped abruptly after a moment, her eyes shut. "And they left."
Two years of rage and sadness were bubbling to the surface again. Feelings and emotions that had never been really dealt with, because Aitana was not the kind of person who was good at dealing with such things. The feelings had simply been pushed further and further down as she tried to ignore them. And with the flood gates open it was impossible to shut them, poor Puck had rubbed just the wrong nerve indeed. His only sin, making friends with someone so unstable.
"They left me here." She sounded incredulious. "All gone. All alone. She did not even leave a message just for me, just some stupid thing in the headquarters for everyone. And now what do I have?"
"No mission. No princess. And I could not even just go home to Brazil and be what I was before. That was destroyed too. Is cruel joke. Cruel joke for my failure. And I do not even know what I did to fail." She was hysterical, and hand going to her stomach to touch the barely visible scars that resided there. "I shield Chibimoon with my own body. I try to get crystals to give her more power. I patrol like I was supposed to.. I.."
Her yelling had finally subsided, until it was nothing more then a miserable moan. "I have nothing left. Terrible past. No future."
Not like regular senshi. Not like Puck...
It was at that moment that it all snapped together in her head, her eyes drifting upwards as she realized just what she'd been saying. And a look of absolute disgust crossed her face at the absolute freakshow of weakness and vunerability she'd just displayed. Her mouth went dry.
What had she done?
She wasn't even breathing anymore as her eyes transfixed on Puck wanting nothing more then to run far away but she was stuck like a deer in headlights instead. She was waiting for it.. perhaps even bracing for the sharp stab that was sure to come. When he looked at her, and then down at her and left too. Juno couldn't even blame him. Why wouldn't he leave after that show of absolute craziness and weakness. Sick, disgusting emotional defenselessness and vunerability.
She'd done it again. She'd found something nice in the world, something that made everything not seem so bad, and she'd found a way to obliterate it.
Juno waited for the world to crash around her again. Maybe it would hurt less this time.tatterpixie Well it's not like he really said anything wrong, they were all legitimate questions. He was just unknowingly playing with a ticking time bomb. That's what you get for making friends with strange ladies Puck. whee Also, sorry for the novel and drama bomb. @w@

Puck didn't say anything to interrupt Juno as the words flowed from her like an avalanche that had been building for years. He did register her comment that sounded like she meant the senshi were all reincarnated -- that would explain a lot about the brief visit he'd made to his world -- but he filed it away for future contemplation. Now was neither the time nor the place. When she finally fell silent, he looked up at her face, contorted with grief and shame, then cast his brown eyes down to the pavement. He really hadn't meant to touch such a raw nerve with her, and he felt terrible for forcing her to dredge up such memories, whether he had intended to or not, which he certainly hadn't. He felt terrible for her in general. To have her whole world -- her friends, her team, her princess -- pulled to the wrong time and then yanked out from beneath her, effectively abandoning her here alone… he wasn't sure he'd have been strong enough to survive as she had. He finally raised his head and met her gaze directly, not with pity or disgust, but with resolution. "I'm not going anywhere," were the first words out of his mouth. "You have been through things I can't even imagine. It doesn't sound to me like you're a failure. Sounds to me like you fulfilled your mission like a rockstar." He sighed and almost reached out for her, but stopped lest she rebuke his touch because she didn't feel worthy of kindness. All he really wanted to do was give her a huge hug and hold her tight forever. "What you need is a new mission and a new team. Let's start with what we've been doing -- taking out youma and beating up Chaos people. That's a mission, innit? It protects the people of this city. As for a team…" He spread his arms wide, his mouth quirking up in a crooked little smile. "You got me. Like I said, love, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me." His expression, even with the smile, was almost defiant, as if he was daring her to just try and push him away. Iris_virus Don't even worry -- it was epic! ^___^

She had expected an immediate reaction. A look of disgust or something. But there was no immediate reaction and his eyes actually averted. Maybe he was just too nice to come out like a man and tell her off like he wanted to. Maybe he was mulling over the words.
But the stab she was waiting for never came.
In fact, the words he spoke were so contrary to everything that she was expecting, that she continued to stand there, her breath clenched in her chest, not seeming to understand. I'm not going anywhere. The words rang through her head. She hadn't meant to ask that of him, not conciously atleast even though subconciously maybe she had by agreeing to and pushing for their continued get togethers.
Why was he being so nice to her? Why was he saying nice things to her? Juno couldn't understand right now, too emotionally exhausted from her previous outburst. But by god if she wasn't going to take what was being offered to her.
When she finally began to breath again, the cool air was sweet relief to her aching lungs, and as she breathed out it was a loud shuddering sigh. If she were the type of girl to cry she would have. Who knew, maybe when she was home and had a chance to fully digest everything she still might. Her eyes closed, head shaking, and a laugh of pure and utter relief shook her shoulders. "You are so stupid..." Where the insult came from or what it was pertaining towards was unclear, perhaps it was for taking a chance on her. Or because she simply could not believe what was happening.
Finally she braced the distance that he'd cautiously kept, and her arms wrapped around him briefly, with a squeeze tight enough that it allowed her to lift him up for just a second before she let him go.
Turning away from him, as if trying to keep him from seeing the relieved smile that had stretched across her still way too emotional face, she continued to laugh. "You are way too good to be on a team with me." She was a proud woman, not always able to say thank you, but hopefully her message conveyed.tatterpixie Dawww *pinches his cheeks 5ever for his sweetness*

Confused why Juno was suddenly laughing, Puck couldn't help but grin. "I've been told I'm stupid before, so that's nothing new," he responded. Then to his surprise she moved toward him and practically scooped him up in her arms with a tight squeeze. His arms instinctively wrapped around her and he squeezed back, rubbing her back. She felt so warm and solid in his arms, yet still soft... He was on the verge of giving her a kiss on the cheek when she released him. A part of him was a little sad that he hadn't been able to do that. Maybe another time. And there would definitely be another time. Between the hug and her words, her message came across loud and clear, and Puck's grin widened. He knew how hard it was for some people to thank others, and he figured the Amazon was one of those. "No I'm not. We make a perfect team! You get them high, and I get them low. And we both beat the s**t out of them." He punctuated his remark with a punch to the air. "Do not let other people call you stupid." She stated hypocritcally, with a slight furrow in her brow. When the Amazon said it she had meant it in the most affectionate way possible. Somehow it was easier than telling him he was sweet or kind or something equally mushy. But if anyone else was out there calling Rob stupid well... Aitana had a fist that they could kindly eat.
And when he joked about the two of them as a team, she couldn't help but laugh some more. Her laughter at the bar the other night hadn't been entirely because of the beer. He just had a knack for drawing them out of her. It probably had to do with his quick wit. Maybe a little bit with how funny and cute his accent sounded. Regardless, as always his smile and joking was infectious. "I suppose I cannot argue with that. There are a lot of things roaming the street and not enough hours in the day to punch them all alone."
Juno wanted more than anything to forget the subject and what had just happened, and his words were going a long way. But then something hit her that would work even better. Reaching out with her long arms she gave him a little shove, before motioning towards the city with a smirk, her body shifting and ready to take off. "Hey.. if you can catch me I tell you something else about senshi or negaverse."
"I will give you handicap even. You can use roofs but not me." He didn't really have much choice in the matter because after making sure he heard her and throwing in a teasing wink she bolted down the street with a playful battle cry.tatterpixie He really really is, Juno wouldn't have reacted nearly so well in a similar situation.
