As soon as she got the chance, Dana had hit the streets running towards the scene she'd caught a glimpse of on the news. Another senshi! Could she really be so lucky? She'd been forced to wait until nightfall to avoid nosy reporters, but as soon as the cost was clear, the girl had been quick to power up.

Now as Sailor Dorado, she confidently marched across the street, wobbling only once in her boots. If a senshi had been here, that meant there was a battle, right? Well, she didn't want to be caught off guard, and that meant taking no chances! Her gloved fingers flexed quietly for a moment, betraying her nervousness. Her first real battle as a senshi. Was she ready?

HAH! Of course she was ready! She was Sailor Dorado, protector of the weak and innocent! Even if that meant she had to get down and dirty. ...Well. At least she knew she had to stomp on someone's instep...

"Gawd damn it all."

She had to go back.

She didn't want to go back. She wanted anything but to go back. But she had to go back - that monster, that thing was not dead yet. And it was her responsibility to kill it...at least, that's what Derp would tell her, if she was around.

She stomped towards the scene of the crime - a foreclosed shop at the end of a strip mall. It hadn't really occurred to Duhr why the monster had been lurking outside of the strip mall, but she'd attacked it regardless. And it had run, with the blonde senshi tripping her way after it, face first into the concrete.

By then, the media had arrived and had started taking pictures. Despite not being the brightest bulb, she had sense enough to grab her heels and hightail it out of there, at least until after the media circus had left.

And now she was back. She had no idea what she was going to do, but she was going to do something, damn it.

Had she heard something?

Dorado froze where she stood, shrinking back into the shadows to conceal herself as she waited. She could hear what sounded like heels stomping closer and closer to her location... The senshi took a deep breath, counting backwards from ten before she popped out with a hideous yell. "This is the biggest mistake of your life, villain! I, Sailor Dorado, will vanquish you!"

Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest, but if she got the upperhand, surely she could win this! That was how the stories always went...

She was so focused on keeping her balance as she dashed in heels that it had never occurred to her what she would do when she needed to stop. So when the noble Sailor Dorado took a giant leap into her path, the taller girl plowed right into her, yelling in surprise at the same time as Dorado continued (or had thankfully finished, rather) issuing her senshi challenge.

"SHEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!"

Stumbling forward, the senshi of fish still attached to her front, Duhr did her best to keep from falling directly on top of the smaller girl. Hands threw themselves out in attempts to grab hold of anything - gloved fingers latched on to the nearby brick wall and Duhr found herself clutching, then promptly falling against the aged building as part of her heel snapped off from the twisted angle she'd contorted herself into.

Now collapsed onto the ground, she roughly forced curls from out of her face as she gave the blue haired girl a confused look.

"What in hogs balls are yew doin', jumpin' out in front of me like that?!"

Dorado would never admit to screaming when Duhr did, but her eyes were wide with fright, hands clutched as though to keep her heart from pounding as far as it was. Of course, being half-tackled might have been responsible for that, and Dorado flailed wildly as she found herself pinned against a nearby wall.

Well, at least the girl hadn't crushed her.

In an instant, the smaller woman brightened immediately, hands clenched into excited fists. "You're her! The senshi!" Dorado crouched down, looking over the other excitedly. "How many bad guys have you beaten?! How strong are you?! How do you use your attacks?!"

Priorities.

The confused look turned even more bewildered as she was bombarded with questions. She had half expected the girl to launch into how Duhr should be more careful where she was running or don't smack into people, Duhr (she'd heard both frequently. Well, she did as Mags, at least).

"Ah...Ah uh...." Grasping for words was difficult, especially when she found herself now on the receiving end of the questions, "Ah...like to...hit...things?"

Noticing that her skirt had come up, revealing layers of frills and pantaloons, she immediately grabbed both ends of the fabric and tugged it down, wrestling the fuku into manageable shape as she thought through her answer a little more thoroughly. "Ah don't normally beat things, mostly investigate them. Ah'm still kind of new to this whole..." Hand wave. "Everything."

Glancing over, she studied the other girl's attire. Why, it almost looked as if she had banners flying from her arms. She didn't have to worry 'bout no poof at all!

"Don't yew hit things too?"

"I like to hit things!" Dorado sputtered, watching with interest as the girl readjusted her skirt. It was much different from her own! Much thicker material, perhaps? She shook her head after a moment, focusing on more important tasks at hand. Her hand shot out, extending to the other senshi to help her to her feet."

"Investigate! Of course!" She nodded furiously--then paused when she realized what the girl had said. She was also new?

They were both new? Dorado needed only a moment to comprehend what that meant before she straightened up, eyes gleaming.

"Of course I do--but--" She hesitated, then plowed ahead. "As a leader, I'm more about strategy, see? I've been looking for a hard hitter for my team! Do you think you're up to the challenge...?"

Please say yes. Please say yes.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:05 pm

"Strategy?"

Well, she sure did sound pretty smart, Duhr reckoned. And maybe this eager beaver of a senshi had an attack that could actually hit its intended target, instead of wreaking havoc everywhere else.

Kicking off her heels, she pulled herself up from off of the ground and dusted the debris and dirt from off of her butt and skirt. Only after she wiped her gloves clean on her skirt, dirtying it up once again in the process, did she stretch out one hand in greeting towards her fellow newcomer.

"Sailor Duhr. Tornadoes." She paused. "Ya'know. My thing. The thing that Ah do." She cleared her throat. "Ah'd love to join yew...what was it, Sailor Dodo? Yew look real smart, Ah'm sure yew've got a lot of plans to kill the monster things."

Dorado accepted the handshake, perhaps squeezing a little tighter than she needed to. A firm handshake was important, or so she'd been told! "Strategy!" She said decisively, her eyes bright.

Tornadoes. Dorado's eyes practically gleamed at that, and she tried not to clench her fists with anticipation. "Sailor Dorado. Senshi of Fish!" She said as much proudly, planting her hands on her chips as she lifted her chin into the air. If she knew what a Dodo was, she might not take toit so kindly.

"So? What sort of monster is it? I need details, Duhr, details!"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:06 pm

Off in the distance, the sound of a trash can crashing onto its side echoed through the night around them. The firm handshake between them fell still, Duhr now experiencing a shiver down her lanky spine at the sound.

"Ah think you're about to get all the information yew need there, Dorado."

Pulling away, she practically galloped her way towards the sound, blonde ringlets bouncing as bare feet padded the ground beneath her. The sound was coming from the alleyway behind the store - was the monster now breaking in from the back? Why - why was it so interested in the shop to begin with? Was there a secret hideout involved? A treasure? A captive?

Duhr asked absolutely none of these questions. She was no longer the one in charge of thinking - no - she was the brawn and this new blue shrimp was gonna be the brains and lead them both into glory and all the good stuff that came with wearing skirts and bows. If such a reward existed, of course (as Derp had never discussed reciprocation for such hazardous work in the first place).

She waited for the new boss lady to catch up and make the first move. That's what a teammate did, right?

The sound made her jump, her head whipping towards the sound. "Sailor Duhr! Wait! Wait!" She hissed, but her words had no effect. Gritting her teeth, she hastily took off after the taller senshi. Her mind was already coming up with all sorts of horrendous beasts and baddies that could be lurking in the shadows, but like heck would she look weak now!

Dorado's pace slowed as she caught up with Duhr, her eyes narrowed warily. "Um--keep your guard up!" She whispered. That sounded appropriately leader-like, right?

"As soon as that thing comes out, you hit it! Got it?!"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:09 pm

"Got it, boss."

The creature looked like nothing she'd ever seen before. Granted, the only animals she was used to seeing were ones she'd care for on the farm and this uggo looked nothing like a cow or a horse. If anything, he looked like one of those monster things you'd see in one of those cinema movie things.

It was definitely trying to work its way into the building, for whatever reason. Well, not on their watch was it gonna get in!

"Not this time, bucko!" She hollered, grabbing its attention. She grinned in response to its snarl. Spreading her legs, she posed in a ready stance, hands outstretched and ready for her attack.

Oh. CRAP. She completely forget her introduction!

"Ah'm Sailor Duhr and Ah'm gonna blow yew awaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAA-!"

The youma lunged forward, dark furry arms and sharp, talon-like claws spread out and aimed straight for her curly head. She managed to duck in the nick of time, at the sacrifice of her senshi challenge. Drats.

Tumbling backwards, long arms pushed against the creature as she did her best to keep its flailing monster-arms away from her face and, well, everything.

Kicking and pushing, she managed to shove it off and scramble up to her feet. Arms outstretching for a second time, she screamed,

"TWISTING WINDS!!!!"

Wind twisted rapidly from her pointed fingers, a dark funnel forming, growing larger and larger until its tip touched the cement they stood on. Her fingers moved from gun position to open palms, the senshi readying her push.

It took a few seconds - that's all they had, it seemed, as the monster was also rising to its feet - and then the funnel was formed. With a swift shove, she sent the tornado forward....and directly past where the monster stood.

s**t. Shitshitshitshitshit.

It was horrible.

It slavered and howled in a frenzy, its clawed hands raking furiously at the curly-haired girl. Dorado's heart was in her throat as each swipe narrowly missed Sailor Duhr, her small hands clenching into fists. If she could punch it in the eye, that might help! Her boots hit the pavement as she charged in, a roar building in her throat. It was a tiny, girlish squeak of a roar, mind you, but it was a roar nevertheless!

Then Duhr shouted something, and her eyes practically bulged out of her head when she saw a real tornado appear from the girl's hands like it was nothing!

"Go, go, go!" She cheered...and felt her mouth fall open with shock as the tornado blew right past the snarling beast. No! The monster was gathering its spindly limbs underneath itself, clearly preparing to launch another attack--"Dorado Aquarium Agility!" Dorado cried, trying to alter the tornado's path so it would come back...

...and instead blessed the monster just as it lunged for them with claws extended. She flinched, trying to cover her head--and felt the air tremble as the creature whooshed right over them, tumbling into the street.

Dorado whipped around in a panic, scrambling to try and pick up a rock or something so she could launch it at the beast. This was bad! Suddenly, lights blinded her from farther down the street, and she stumbled back, shielding her eyes.

A truck horn blared defiantly, the sound impossibly loud as it drowned out the angry screeches of the youma.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:10 pm

Duhr never thought she'd be so happy to see one of 'em city trucks in her entire life.

The 18-wheeler's horn blared loudly in warning, but it was far too late for the monsterous youma. The impact of fur and metal grill was loud and sickening, the creature first dragged along the front until gravity betrayed it and sent it to its death underneath the multiple wheels, each wheel creating an even louder thud thud thud with every roll-over. The truck's brakes screeched as the driver attempted to stop, but the lifeless body beneath the steel vehicle proved that even trucks were too much for the magical being.

The silence between the two senshi was deafening.

It was Duhr who broke the silence first, turning to her new blue haired leader with a throaty whisper, her mind clearly still in a state of shock.

"Dorado, you're plum amazin'."

The truck hit the beast with a sickening crunch, and the girl actually covered her eyes so she wouldn't see anymore. She should have covered her ears, but fortunately, the screech of tires drowned out most of the other noises. Then, blissful silence.

Dorado nearly jumped out of her skin when Duhr spoke up, staring at her with wide eyes. What?

Oh. Oh. Straightening slightly, Dorado composed herself as best she could before she triumphantly planted her hands on her hips. "I am, aren't I? But it was all thanks to your distraction, Duhr! We make a good team!"

She stopped dead again, processing what she'd just said. They did make a good team, didn't they? She whirled on the other senshi, eyes practically shining as she clenched her fists close to her chest. "Sailor Duhr! It's still a weird name, but listen! I could use someone like you! So what if you and I..."

She paused dramatically.

"....teamed up?"
