NOTE: This RP is backdated for about first week of April. So, about April 6thGraceangel She had spent a little more time than usual at the hospital that afternoon, but she had lingered in hopes of the chance of Lily waking up while she was there. Finally, she figured it might be good to go home and shower. She could sort through photos of her time away out of town. She also wondered if Xander would go home tonight. If that was the case, she might try to keep her errands light in hopes of going over there. With so much in her mind, she startled and took a defensive step back. The thud of having collided with someone taking a minute to register. Then, another moment to open her eyes and see who she was looking at. Right then, seeing this face in front of her, her heart panicked. She had broken up with Xander last year in hopes of protecting him from any likelihood the negaverse might use people close to her against her. She hadn’t been in it long enough to know to just what lengths people would go. Were they tracking her? In her self absorbed mind, pretty much everything was always about her, so it would eventually be a relief to know that wasn’t the case if it wasn’t the case. Her lips parted to whisper his name as she knew him, ‘General Beni’. Then, she took a look around the hospital. No. She shouldn’t call him that here. What was that name… she occasionally heard at the Tea House. “Um… hi… Alex? It’s Alex, right? I’m so sorry for not watching where I was walking. Hopefully I didn’t just kill your toes.” Sleet Tempest Snape Alexandre hasn’t been sleeping much, not since Lily had gone into the hospital. he couldn’t help her, even with the power he had, and he felt helpless. She was like the elder sister he’d never actually had and Xander the elder brother, plus Rose was sort of like an elder sister. The Jacobs’ and Evans’ family had always been close, at least since he was a small little tot, and this hurt to see Lily like this and be unable to help in any manner - it was like his mother all over again minus a lot of public drama. He was on his way to the bathroom, having been sitting in a chair for around an hour, when someone walked right into him...or was it the other way around? he hadn’t been looking up nor paying any attention to his surroundings. He was rather spaced out if he were being honest. Staring up at the figure for a moment, unblinking, he finally found his voice and did blink. “Alexandre, Alex for short.” Though it wasn’t prefered he found most people seemed to prefer it as it was shorter than his supposed mouthful of a name. What was she doing here? Lovely...he was ill dressed, not in his usual impeccable attire, as he wore a loose shirt with sleeves that went down and covered most of his hands so just the tips of his fingers peeked out. The pants were form fitting and nice, a dark wash color, but the top was loose and made him look smaller and younger than he was, never mind his longish hair was mussed up and in his face rather than being neatly tied back. “I assure you my toes are just fine. I wasn’t watching my surroundings either, so no worries.” Quote: She fidgeted worrying about if he were evaluating her. Was he going to contrive some dubious scenario that would punish her for her being so absent. She hadn’t been with the Negaverse very long, so maybe he wouldn’t have had much stock in her. Maybe he wouldn’t be overly concerned. She actually started to feel more concerned about the fact that she had been working at his Tea Shop. Then, she suddenly left. That had been rather uncharacteristic of her given that she had episodes of being a borderline workaholic. There had been times she worked several jobs. Life was just a big mess. The more things went on; it felt impossible to balance her powered life with her everyday life. More and more everyday won out. This was the only place she cared about being. “Well, long time no see… I was away for a while… Only recently back… and with my friend sick, all I do is hang out here.” She wondered what else she should say. Quote: A tilt of his head, fingertips combed through his hair as he straightened the locks of ashen hair, and he was staring at her in what appeared a rather innocent and perhaps even child like manner. He might be twenty years old but he hardly appeared it. At only five foot three inches and petite as he was, not to mention his overly large shirt at the moment, he seemed much younger than he really was. He hardly seemed the commanding General that he was, or at least could be. “I see. And how have you been holding up?” He questioned curiosity coloring his voice as he watched the other carefully, innocently. He was good at playing innocent, his calmness and tendency to not lose his cool helping in that of course as did his general ability to manipulate things and twist words. He was good with words - very good and dangerous. “I’m here for a friend as well but need to make use of the facilities here.” He stated as he indicated the way she’d come from, the way he’d been headed. “Walk and talk, it’s better for me that I dealt with my needs.” Which right now consisted of one thing - emptying his bladder. Quote: “Well, things really have been more than a little… frazzled. Actually, I was gone for a long time. After some things in my personal life last fall that were just too heavy, I went to France to visit some distant relatives of my mother’s. It was really nice. Part of me almost didn’t want to come back.” She sighed. There were still parts of her that wished she hadn’t, but those parts were quickly dissipating in favor of the joy of being reunited with the man she was willing to give up everything for. Her passion for him made him into her everything. How beautiful it felt to be in love. Then taking a better look at the general in plain clothes, she realized only just then that she was actually taller than him. She had always felt rather short when around the Jacob’s Family. They were all fairly tall people; while she herself were only 5’5. “Sometimes, I feel as if while working at your Tea Shop; I should have really gotten to know some of my coworkers better. Sometimes in a workplace, I get deeply caught up in the moment to moment functions and making sure things are done and done right. I guess that comes from all my years of working so much. Habits die hard.” She had turned and followed walking next to him. He just seemed so… calm about seeing her. She wondered if this was real. Then again, she also was realizing she didn’t really know anyone from the Negaverse well except for one person. She looked back towards Lily’s room. “So, were you headed on your way out?” Quote: “I see. I’ve been to France, it’s rather lovely.” A place he would like to go back to one day, it was one reason he was working on learning French through his lessons with paris had become fewer and further between due to everything already on his plate. He had been working on learning via other means, including the recent purchase of Rosetta Stone as he hoped it would help. He should contact paris though soon and set something up...but so much was going on in his life that it was hard to think of calling and arranging a lesson or anything else really - especially right now. “Perhaps you should find time for another vacation there, a short one mind you, but it is good to get away at times - when things become too heavy. It’s not productive to be under too much stress. It’s rather...counter productive.” He said shrugging his shoulders some, one of them winding up uncovered by the overly large shirt he wore. “Habits are indeed hard to break, best done slowly, easier to break then.” Shrugging once more. As the other followed him she headed the way he’d been going, and glanced at her a few times along the way. “No.” Stopping outside the bathroom he pushed the door open. “I’m going to relieve myself and then return to someone's room.” He answered and vanished inside the males bathroom. When he did come out he was finger combing his hair as he glanced about to see if the other was still there and waiting for him. Quote: The moment the men’s room door closed behind Alex, Cerise spun around in a smooth pivot. She skittered down the hallway quickly into Lily’s room. She felt a little put off by the way he seemed so… cordial. He seemed so not at all the way other Generals might be about someone randomly disappearing. Unless he just didn’t really care too much about new recruits unless they were causing legitimate problems. She wondered if she was being a little impetuous. Should she have waited for him? On the one hand, it’d be good manners if she just happened to be good friends with that guy and keeping him company. However, this was just a random encounter. He just happened to be here at the hospital as well. Oh well, he’s just go off to see who he was here to see. Maybe that would be enough to be ok. She walked across the room and sat into the armchair completely missing a jacket laid over the back of it. Her mind working and tossing. She came to a brief arrival that she had entirely forgotten about her normal bravado. Well, she tousled her long chocolate wavy locks of hair as she primped herself. If she happened by him at all during the rest of her visit today; she would be ready for round 2. You just never knew how visits would go if you were camping out in someone’s room. This floor of the hospital seemed to never have a shortage of patients from what Cerise had seen of it so far. Quote: Noting the vanished female he gave a shrug of his shoulders before he headed back to Lily’s room, intent upon spending more time in the room with her even if nothing would change. Down the hall he made his way, shoes tapping against the pristine white tiles of the hospital hallway. And all the way to Lily’s room where he turned into the room and stood there for a moment. he really did dislike hospitals, the cleaning products and such smelled in a way he disliked plus the very atmosphere of these places, all the sick and dying people in them. He wasn’t however expecting to see the same female inside the room. Ah, so she knew Lily as well? “It seems we are here for the same person. “And she was in his chair but rather than say something he went to the other chair in the room and draped his legs over one arm and his head took to resting on the other arm as he shifted to get comfortable, he was not planning to sit in that chair ramrod straight for how long? Nope, he was at least going to attempt to be comfortable, if his clothing wasn’t any indication of it than his position now certainly was.

Quote: That little space of time flitted off like a butterfly through branches of a tree. Cerise had merely been contemplating how she should spend her time visiting today. She tried so hard to switch it up just in case Lily could hear everything that went on. Doctors and nurses told her sometimes those in comas could hear people, so she tried to make sure their activities rotated. Hearing his voice, she looked up to see him. She was ready though after her previous primping and mental posturing. Her eyes gleamed with shrewd observations of him this time. For one of hte first time since doing anything with any of the other powered persons in town; she thought about how different some of negaverse officers appeared unpowered. They just seemed like regular people to her. She then felt like as just her ordinary everyday self; she was more formidable and powerful than she was in that uniform. That ridiculous power pyramid they had going on. Cerise cared little for that steps of authority. Sure, at first glance it seemed like strong leadership. The longer she was in there; the appearance of strong leadership was a joke. As she embraced an everyday moment with this guy, she decided to pretend she didn’t know him from Adam. She went on as if she had never powered up ever and hadn’t been associated with those people. “Well, I guess… that is the case. Have you known Lily a long time? I was dating her brother, so I became good friends with her after that.” She then smiled genuine and charming at him as she would towards anyone else. “I’m Cerise.” Quote: His attention focused on her as she spoke and he nodded his head once to her words. “I see...Xander didn’t tell me he was dating - I’ll have to congratulate him next time I see him.” He said with something of a mischievous smile. The red haired male had not told him - how mean. He’d teased the other a fair bit in the past about dating, and his need to do so, that he just didn’t realize when people were interested in him. It seems Xander had made progress and thought to not tell Alex and Lily likely hadn’t said anything thinking Alex already knew. “I’ve known Lily, and her family, since I was in diapers. My family is all but her family and vice versa. We’re all rather close.” Lily was like an elder sister to him and he hated seeing her like this. It was also how he got away with teasing Xander about such things, he was like the little brother. As she gave him a smile, a rather nice smile, he flashed one of his own in return. “Alexandre, it’s a pleasure.” Quote: Listening as he recounted his own lifelong acquaintance, her eyes grew round like saucers. They were strongly akin to cat eyes when they’ve been exposed n** or something else of extreme liking. Just like that, she was beyond her initial worries and plunging deep into her real nature and true self. Of course being that Cerise was never afraid of showing her real self to anyone. Her deepest conviction in life being that everyone were all secretly and madly in love with her already. Many just needed that prod to realize it and adore her for being absolutely amazing. The knowledge of his knowledge made her stare at him hard. Well, he was about to be her new best friend. There were so many things you learned of people just by being around them; there was also some things you learned of people who knew as outsiders who associate with those people and their personal experiences. Being a nice age of 28 then, Cerise was more than a little aware of such a thing. Though she was an only child and devoid of the lessons you learn by growing up with siblings or a big family; she often was recounted stories by patrons in the coffee shops she worked at. That one time she worked as a night shift waitress at that bus stop on the road just into town; lots of truckers would order cups after cups of coffee to talk to her pretty face and oogle her very well endowed size chest. Then, she suddenly had an idea. She popped up out of her seat moving quickly across to his seat. Reaching out she gave him a hand as if to pull him up. “Come on… help me move this across the room, so you can sit next to me. I’d drag it myself, but you know it’d create such a clamor. Come, come.. Help me do it quickly. We have so much to talk about.” Quote: Surprise took over his features as she jumped up onto her feet and hurried her way toward him, his slate eyes tracking her quick movements the whole time. What was she doing? She answered that silent question rather quickly as she was reaching for his hand. “Umm..ok.” Slowly he did get up from his seat and moved his chair closer to hers as he picked up and set it back down once it was closer to her seat. “What do we have to talk about?” He asked curious, wondering what she wanted from him. With his chair moved closer to hers, with enough room for his legs to hang over the arm of the chair, he gracefully draped himself back into the chair. His head again resting on one armrest and his legs hung off the other armrest. His head closer to her chair. Quote: She practically was prancing and dancing on the tips of her toes as she gleamed. The fact she showed no resistance and came along willingly made her appreciate him immensely. Haha.. What a fun person. Once his chair was positioned close enough for her liking, and he was comfortable. She then slid into her seat. If this had been before she found someone who mattered to her so much as Xander; the actual of her movement would have been like a serpent of temptation poised to seduce and prey on. That part of her life was over now. Her prowess hung up on the walls of her memory like hunters post animal heads. There were few she made much progress if she desired it; most of those were of a singular reason. They preferred men. Still, while she wasn’t seeking anything from him in an inappropriate manner; her touchy feely instincts were bubbling up just the same. It was hard to not do what it is in your nature to do. She started to smile and gush. Her hands brushing up lightly his arm and help prop his shirt back up on his shoulder and adjusting the collar to make him look more dashing. “Well, my dear… You probably have more talking than I do. You have known them all your life. I just want to hear lots of stories about Xander. You must know him quite well then. I mean… “ She smiled in that feigned humility flaunted in that manner that still elevated how amazing she was. Her hands then splaying her fingers against her chest. Her eyelids fluttering. “Obviously, I can tell a lot of things for myself. You don’t get to be my age being the type of woman I am without knowing how to read a man. There’s definitely something to be said about learning of a person from someone else’s point of view also. I absolutely want to know everything about him. Good or bad. It doesn’t matter.” She was about to go off on a tangent before saying only one more thing before reigning herself in. “His family has been pretty accommodating in that. His mother and Rose seem to be happy to produce photo albums out of nowhere to fill empty evenings with photo shows. It’s sooo nice. They are just the loveliest people I ever met.” She sighed a romantic breath. Her fancy with them to some point an extension of her obvious obsessive love for him. Well, the extent of how obsessive that was not truly being exposed.. yet. Quote: As she ran a hand up his arm his sleeve moved up, displaying the ink he had that ended right around his elbow. The sleeve of course fell back down once her hand was gone, they really were too large sleeves for him. It wasn’t attention he was used to, at least from a female or someone he wasn’t involved with, but he kept calm and relaxed as he let her do as she pleased; for now at least. With the shirt he wore no amount of fixing it would make him look dashing, cute and small...vulnerable even yes but dashing - nope. He hadn’t picked it though for such a reason. It was simply what he’d grabbed from his closet, surprised he even had the shirt to be honest. he remembered it as being a gift from his aunt...who had clearly gotten sizes wrong. “I do...but stories…” He said trailing off as he tipped his head back to look at her, wondering what she wanted to know. Was this some ploy of hers? A plan...something to deal with business? If so it was a lot of time and energy being invested...then again look at his tea shop and the time and effort he was pouring into that. “Can you? Read a person that well?” He questioned with a raised brow, ignoring the hand on his chest at the moment as it didn’t bother him one way or the other really. he was used to flirtation and other such things being directed at him by females. “The Jacobs’ family has always been very nice. Their family and mine are all but one.” No blood or marriage ties but that had never seemed to matter. Lily had been his only friend growing up and he’d liked it that way, never wanted or desired another friend. He’d pushed attempts at friendship away in fact, came off as cold and aloof in school even. Until he was sixteen,he’d been content to have just Lily as his friend and to share her bed, in a completely and utterly platonic manner. “The photo albums...lovely.” Which meant the possibility of photos of himself as a child as well - lovely. “Before I even think to divulge anything about my family...tell me that you mean them no harm - that this is not some plot or ploy. That you won’t bring them into this war.” His voice was low, just above a whisper, and his slate eyes suddenly cold and sharp. He could turn it on and off with ease and right now he was not the cute looking male he’d been moments ago. “They are to be kept out of this, clueless and safe.” His family as well. He would do whatever it took to keep them all safe - kill anyone he had to and sacrifice whatever he needed to. Quote: Utterly in her element she was. Every so often fidgeting her shoulders, so her long voluminous hair would roll this way and that. She felt alive and switched on. Like someone had just poured a coin into a slot and pressed absolutely the right button. She of course reigned in her excitement and stopped touching Alex. Her stopping more of reflecting on that she didn’t want to lead him on and make him think she was open to anything beyond being friendly. Or, not even too friendly. She possessed zero intentions of doing any of those sorts of things to anyone else ever anymore. “yes. .. stories… I just want to know about him. I mean.. clearly I know him so well.” She then stopped interrupting to listen more. She watched that cold look in his eye. Seeing that with her shrewd eyes, hers narrowed with a pointed acknowledgement of it. A smile played across her lips as she felt like a secret had just been told to her. She was deeply tempted to lean forward and conspiratorially tell him ‘There you are!’ Of course, she didn’t. In her mood, she might not be able to appropriately get her volume down to not be overheard and share unnecessary information with others. However, that gesture went up in smoke at his insistence. “Are you seriously asking me that? That was the reason I left the first time. The timing of my joining this then getting more deeply involved with Xander is… It’s pretty much regrettable. I think if I had arrived in that place with him sooner..maybe a few months.. or weeks even… Maybe I wouldn’t have done that. For me it was Buddy; and of course, you can imagine it followed an evening of bonding. Bonding I wouldn’t have done if I had been to a point of falling for Xander to the point I have.” She pursed her lips and then started to suck on them as she reflected with some sincerity and authenticity that not everyone got to experience of her. “Ever since I realized the kind of feelings I had for him… I started to become worried.. that … any association with me at all would endanger him.” She laughed a dark and sadistic laugh at herself. “I wondered the same for my parents. As an only child, if something happens to me, they will be the ones who suffer the most I fear. I can’t help but feel concerned all the time that my actions will have irreprehensible repercussions. Ones that I am not ok with living with for the rest of my life. However, I can promise you this; I will NEVER do anything to endanger them. I would give my life to protect him or her. There is no cost too high I wouldn’t pay for his sake.” The emotion rising as she felt like there was so much she wanted to convey about that. So hard to put it into words. She knew it might sound unbelievable if he had known enough about her. Quote: “Obviously I’m seriously asking you that.” he stated just before she launched into explaining things to him and he found himself shaking his head some. “Ah, Buddy...I know how bonding time with him goes.” And really he knew first hand how bonding with Buddy went, he’d spent what...two nights with the other? Though they were not in a row, he wasn’t about to spend a whole day at the others home like some attached teenager, even though he had been a teenager at the time. “I see. So poor timing...we almost didn’t have an officer.” He spoke even as he relaxed once more as she started in on her tale of her feelings for Xander, he was interested don’t get him wrong but he was going to relax and as he did so that look turned calm again. If she was being honest he’d welcome her, she had best hope no trouble was brought to his family by her. he never let the Negaverse get involved in his family and never would. So this...this was dangerously close for someone else to be. He’d never known an officer who was close to his family until now...and it left him feeling territorial and protective, nothing new but to this degree and in this situation was all new to him. Finally he opened his eyes, which had at some point drifted closed, and started up at her. “Good. I have felt the same but I will not stop living, separate myself from my family, because of this war. I will not permit it to control and dominate my life.” Just a good portion of his life, but he didn’t say this. “So long as you do not betray us your family will be safe. If you were to die...we would not reach out to punish them...and I would not permit anything to happen to my family.” Meaning Xander was safe, very safe, who would cross swords with him? Small and petite he may be but he was still a General and had still killed and would kill in the future, it was inevitable. “You will not be bringing anything to their doorstep.” he said while shifting and getting comfortable, as he did so the left side of his shirt slid down his shoulder again but it had no attention paid to it. Quote: She appreciated his telling her of course he was serious. She took his behavior that implied utter sincerity to also mean that everything that was said here was something that could be trusted. She took a deep breath as she stared into Alex’s eyes. Deep and probing as if double and triple checking if he really was as trustworthy as he seemed. So far everything he was saying sounded fairly forthright. She started to fancy up as if she were being interviewed on tv or something of the sort. Her normal conceited bravado stepping up center stage. “mmmm…” she mused as she then prepared to launch into more sharing. What was it about this room? It was turning into confessional booth number one. If she had any more soul bearing in this room; it might become sanctified on the grounds of deeds of one’s past. “I’m going to be completely honest with you since you have only recently made my acquaintance. I used to be … well.. some would call me a ‘ bad girl’.” She quoted fingers while saying bad girl. “You know… like… I was a serious player. Struttin up the bar scene. Going everywhere and anywhere I wanted courtesy of my exquisite ladies.” Her ladies being the ones in her bra or top. Bras were something that had become newer habits also. She knew Xander’s modest tastes were rather stringent. She had started wearing bras and slightly more modest clothing as an attempt at a compromise. She couldn't’ not be herself, but she would stop revealing herself to the world. Eventually, she might marry Xander, so she had to consider these sorts of things. “I think I hadn’t thought of a single other person as long as I lived till I met Xander. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it was about him that made me stop. Now, I’m sure it must have been his kind nature. I’ve never met anyone so selfless as that. The more time I spend with him; the more I feel myself changing. That I need to be a better person. That… something inside me is transforming. I wouldn’t stop it for anything.” Then, she toyed over what would have been a reckless next stop on her confession train. “If I tell you something else… do you promise that it’d stay between you and me?” While waiting for an answer; her eyes taking another probing look as she traced her lower lip with the tip of her right thumb. While waiting, she inched just a wee bit closer to the edge of her seat. Her arm practically brushing with his shoulder. Quote: Ahh..a bad girl sort. Somehow that did surprise him, it didn’t seem like the sort of person Xander would find himself with but he hadn’t even known Xander was involved with someone, so what did he know? He figured he knew a lot really and this was very interesting to him, but he didn’t let it show. Xander was happy, he assumed, and that mattered the most to him really. That and his safety, which it seemed he had, and Alex was there to assure these things and keep them in place. “Yes, understood. Xander is the sort to change people, which doesn’t surprise me, he is different...naive in many ways...or he was anyway.” He said shrugging as he spoke about the red haired Jacobs who wasn’t present at the time. “Never noticed, or realized, he had the attention of a good number of females...have fun with those women...you’ll get used to it.” Just learn to back them up and open Xander’s eyes if he still failed to notice him, this was all silently communicated to the other with his eyes as he hoped she’d understand this. So she really did care for Xander and was changing for him, thinking of him as a person and the things he didn’t say but clearly who he was, what he thought and prefered. How...interesting and cute, though he didn’t say either of these things. “You make my brother happy...and you are here for Lily. You’ve seen photo albums with Rose and their mother...they’ve accepted you. The next bit is being accepted by myself and my part of the family, as you could call it. So speak your mind. I won’t let family and business become tangled.” She was safe to say what she thought or needed to say, he’d hold her secrets unless she betray his family in some way. if she ever betray his family, hurt Xander or someone else, she had better hope she could find a deep dark hole to hide in, permanently, and grow extra eyes in order to watch everything she ate. Quote: Her eyes widened then narrowed as she heard every syllable of the statement about attention from ladies. How cute he felt a need to warn her. She had seen a little of this at their Valentine’s dinner Xander took her on. Never in her life until recently, had she ever felt jealous over or towards anyone. Cerise had always been in love with herself. She loved herself through and through. She had little doubts as to her ability to gain what she wanted if she wanted it enough. She had little doubts as to others wanting her as well. But this… this stirred up a feeling. One that made her forget whatever it was she was about to tell him. Her heart burned with a fire catching inside. She wondered if it could be seen by him. Was such a feeling transparent and manifested so easily? Since she had no mirror to see how she looked; she could only imagine. Still, it gripped her so earnest and tight; she could only react to it with a pure heart without airs. Her stare growing dangerous and daring. Hmph. Let anyone try what they might. Her mantra since joining the Negaverse had been that she was a lover not a fighter. Just right then; she felt like if she were witnesses anyone truly being untoward towards him in front of her. She might have to develop that part of herself. Someone might have to get punched in the face or worse. Deeper down still, the chaos that was itching inside always feasting on the weak parts of her heart. It seared at this flame of jealousy and possessiveness. The overpowering and consuming feeling it gave her nearly made her lose all sense. She had almost felt on a verge of making some kind of vain aggressive gesture towards the one who sat next to her. She restrained herself as she mentally told herself; if her and Alex got to be better friends… Well, they could be true allies. Clearly, they both valued Xander’s safety. Moreover, he shared her need to keep them all safe and sound. His promise about her parents suddenly surfaced. That thought was like a breath of air. Like a hand reaching down to pull her out of an ocean undercurrent she had suddenly been sucked in by. ‘ I’ll get used to it? Heh… More like they’ll get used to me.’ Her scorn raged across her features still. She fought hard to squash it and regain control of herself. It was soooo unlike her to become emotionally undone in front of anyone. Let alone someone she hardly knew. But damn… one singular feeling and thought she had right then. The whole world was her and Xander. And anyone who messed with that would be in big trouble. She wasn’t afraid of anyone in the face of that feeling. Finally, it started to give, but it was replaced with a toxic perception of another way he could have meant what he was saying. Was he trying to say that Xander was the only one who had the attention of others? She was a damn fine woman. There was a reason she had so many successful exploits for her book in her time. If he was even implying that, she fumed over what an unperceptive person he must truly be. If he couldn’t see how magnificent she was; his ability to see how Xander was only through rose color glasses and biased contrived opinions. She then started to wonder that he had ever even been in the presence of such a bodacious woman as herself. ANY man would have been lucky and more than fortunate to be so blessed as a romp in the sack with her on any given day. Men who had such a window of opportunity would surely all vouch for her. “Well in any case… lemme tell you some things I’ve quickly come to a conviction on. The first, I really hate how children keep being dragged into this. War is no place for kids. Childhood fleets by as it is already. To go and ******** that up with witnessing heinous events that happen in this town is disgusting. I hate it. Also… I have zero interest in actually killing people. I mean.. if you’re doing it out of self defense; that’s one thing. Just blatantly killing people for no good reason? No way. The way we treat others is a direct reflection of how we feel about ourselves. People who treat others badly because they lack any kind of value or love for their true selves. You won’t find that with me. Everyone has roles to play and values. I extremely dislike people’s quickness to resort to fatality as their first recourse.” Yup.. She still wasn’t remembering what it was she was just about to say. Her entire train of thought derailed at this sudden volcanic like eruption of emotion. Damn. She was on the verge of being totally embarrassed. Luckily, she didn’t fully embarrass easily. She was just too grown a woman for that kind of bullshit; but still… geez… She rubbed her face as she tried to drum up exactly what it was she was about to say. Quote: “Ah, simply a warning. I’ve seen it in the past and he be clueless about it, even when it’s pointed out to him. He can be clueless...or at least he was. I’m unsure now but the last time we spent time out he was still rather clueless.” It was tiresome how clueless Xander used to be, not to mention how he’d just wanted to smack him behind the head each time and open his eyes to it all. He was the younger brother and he’d had more experience and more of a clue than Xander - it was just sad in his opinion. “I don’t feel sorry for any admirers he has. I think it justified - whatever you do to them.” He added in after a moment as he watched her face contort and display many emotions. Oh...she really did love his elder brother and she cared for him...she was a possessive thing wasn’t she. He wasn't seeking to play with her emotions and manipulate her, he was being honest and just warning her. Had it not happened yet? A trip out shopping and a person or two staring? Someone flirting. How lucky, for the other people. Not for a single moment did he even realize where her thoughts were going, thinking he was mocking or insulting her in some way. Actually he didn’t notice females at all, and if one walked in front of him nude he would be making for anywhere else to be...and seeking to cover his eyes as quickly as possible whilst relocating himself. Had he a clue where her thoughts had gone to he’d have rolled right out of his chair laughing before informing her of his lack of interest in women - all women. As business came up he shifted and listened to her. “I agree about children. I don’t fight the chibi ones for just that reason.” He also wasn’t about to bring a child into this war, no one younger than he’d been. To bring anyone in that was younger than sixteen was far too much, even though dealing with high school and the negaverse was no easy task either. “Alright, I understand. I may not agree, personally, but I don’t kill for fun or pleasure. I do enjoy killing however when I do, for self defense.” He said slowly, hoping it made sense. He didn’t kill for no reason but when he did he enjoyed it. This was a war and it had changed him over time, he’d been at this around four years now so it only made sense that it change him. “I don’t see an issue to these things, so long as you don’t let yourself be killed in a fight. If they are out to kill you - kill them.” He didn’t try and kill whoever he was fighting every time he got into a fight. A fight was just that but they could escalate, he knew that, and they could be out to kill him and thus he would try and kill them in return. No, he didn’t go out looking to kill...he didn’t fantasize about it or anything else like that.

Quote: She took a few more deep breaths. She blinked away her eyes trying to not dwell on things that were only feed the flames of whatever all this was she felt. She extremely disliked feeling to a point of being out of control of herself. She sighed more as she pulled herself back together as if she totally didn’t just have a near meltdown in front of him. She pulled back on that smug look she had at times. Her haughty expressions resuming their normal place on her visage. “One time… I ran into this one girl… and She threw eggs. It was all in my hair…. dripped down my top… It was pretty gross. What the ******** is up with that. Yeah. I’m pretty much have zero interest in having to deal with messy crap like that. Mess up my pretty face? yeah… no thank you. Or… worse.. have a run in with one of these who got something to prove cuz mommy didn’t love them enough? Wanna bust some scars on my face? Hell ******** no. Noone is ruining my face.. or my flawless body … nope. Not happening. I don’t care if I’m the most useless person because of that. I like myself just the way I am. That goes for both personality as well as physical looks. I go through a lot of time and effort to keep my s**t looking good like this. It’s so easy to look like a bar of soap when you’re sixteen. When you get closer to your thirties or older though… you gotta start working at that. You gotta start taking measures to preserve your beauty for the decades to come. Can’t just be thinking about right now. Nope.” She was totally waxing on strong right there. She was in rare form and totally just about to hug herself. She stopped halfway and just hugged her hands around her waist before she had mindlessly felt herself up in front of him. That was really just a bad habit from being overly excited at once. One she was working on stopping asap. “Ok. So… does that mean I can trust you to not come looking for me? I mean… I’m going to keep laying low. The only thing I do with my time these days is come here. I’m here with Lily every day. And, I will keep being here every day until she wakes up. Well.. at least until she can stand up and get out of bed. that for sure. But, I even only agreed to all of this in the first place.. as I was promised that I would get stuff I want. Make no mistake Alex. I’m in this for myself. I am only bothering as so much to take me after what I’m after. If that doesn’t happen… I probably won’t do anything. Sorry. I didn’t sign up to be someone’s bullshit peon. I am noone’s peon. Xander and Lily besides my parents are probably the only people I’ve ever given two shits about.” Though in the back of her mind, she recalled a handful of friends she’s made over the past few years. If she were being totally honest, it would hurt to lose them or never talk to them again. She was still trying to remember what it was she was going to say. “Well… I forgot that other thing I wanted to say.” She sat then leaning a little forward and looking at him earnestly. “I’m glad I met you like this. If you’re so close to their family as you say; chances are we’d meet pretty often. If I were to… one day marry him; would that make you my brother too?” Quote: “I’m not as concerned for my looks as I once was. It seems to become something less concerning when it’s either a scar or your life.” Shrugging his shoulders as he shifted, lifting his hips up, he used one hand to move his shirt up. He was toned, time spent in the gym went to good use, but aside from all the ink which covered his fair skin was a scar right down by his left hip. It looked like he’d been stabbed perhaps, or sliced, with something. The ink itself was of ivy, thorns dotting the length of ivy, that covered his stomach and chest and moved to his arms. There was something else peeking out from under his pants as well, right down the right pelvic area. So he obviously wasn’t taking as much care as she was, and would continue to take, when it came to her body and looks. Though he honestly thought he looked good as he was. “Why would I come after you? You're not planning on changing sides - correct?” he questioned as he lowered himself to his chair, leaving his shirt up around his chest. The time at the gym really did show once the shirt was up, or off, it wasn’t something one would expect from the snobbish, well dressed, male who spent more time inside a mall in a week than most men spent in a whole year….or two. “What did you join in order to gain? what do you seek?” He didn’t mention why he joined, it was none of her concern and it was neither here nor there really. There weren’t many who knew why he’d joined but there were a fair few out there who knew. A few even knew his true allegiance and knew his thoughts on things, his intentions. She wasn't one of them and she likely never would be. He could trust her with his family but not with his life. Laughing he shifted and nodded his head. “Something of a brother. No blood relation between me and Xander but there might as well be. Which means that next time you see him...take him the spa. He’s likely stressed and I know he goes there when he’s stressed out. You should take him there to relax some - he needs it.” They all did with Lily laid up in the hospital as she was. Quote: His question fell upon a confused glance. You could change sides? Huh. Who knew… “Of course not… but you know.. hypothetically speaking…. I joined seeking fame.” She said it with a tone of ridiculous humor. “All my life. All I ever wanted was to be famous. To be on TV or in movies just as I should have been. The world perishes for not being able to enjoy looking upon me every so often. To have everyone be in love with me at once. For everyone to know exactly who I am the moment they lay eyes on me without me having to tell. It also wouldn’t hurt to have had throngs of people to wait on me hand and foot.” Then she looked suddenly like she wasn’t even present with anyone. Like she was looking in some deep place far away. “Well.. I mean… That's what I wanted. Funny… Well, not funny in a ‘haha’ sort of way but… just daunting how… I no longer want any of that really. I mean… some of it would still be nice, but it doesn’t matter. If those things happen or not. What I want can’t be given to me by anywhere there at all. Even if it could be forced; I wouldn’t want it forced. Something like love is something that has to be given to you willingly and with every pure intention or it just isn’t worth anything at all. Sometimes, lately, it feels like I’ve walked into a dream. My time with him is the only thing I want out of life at all. Hang the rest.” She wondered what sort of meeting this would be had she not been woken up into the negaverse. If she had still met and fell in love with Xander, and she just could be happy normal person without worrying about all this other garbage. She was already deriving from the way he asked that even if this side changing is possible. It is frowned upon heavily. Clearly Xander and Lily would still be safe. It flooded her mind with food for thought. She could feel that chaos picking at her deep down inside. It could almost be a masochistic sort of pleasure if she would just give in to it. She sensed that already. If she hadn’t of come back to the states or not reunited with Xander; maybe she would have in fact given in to it. Surely that would have been preferable to the misery she felt after the way she left before. “So… he really hasn’t told you anything about me? From either last summer or this year?” She pouted her lips. How disappointing… If Alex was as close as he says.. why wouldn’t they tell him about her. She then just changed her gears. “Wow.. that’s some tat. You must have a good pain tolerance. While I don’t have any of my own yet, I have known enough people who had enough tattoos to know that certain parts of the body hurt more than others.” Part of her almost wanted to ask if she could touch it. A vine like that seemed to wear a path. Quote: My, my, she really had changed. She had come into the Negaverse wanting fame, and a lot of it, only to change her mind. Had someone promised her fame? Yes, they had members in all areas you could imagine but that was because the organization was large on a worldwide level. But to promise such a thing, if it had indeed been done, was a bit...far reaching, There really was no way to guarantee such a thing as there was no way to know how good she’d be as an actress or some star. At least her wants now were far more realistic, that was a good thing. her love seemed very...genuine and for that he was glad. “I’ve had ribs broken...stabbed with glass.” Here his fingers touched the scar that was down low on his side, giving way to just what caused it. “I’ve learned to deal with and tolerate pain. That as well as multiple sessions.” He hadn’t gotten them all at once, as one full idea, not had the ivy been one sitting. Oh no, it went around his back and down to just around his elbows - it was big. He’d dealt with alot in the Negaverse and he could handle it. “It’s likely that Xander didn’t say anything as I’ve been known to tease him about dating, or not dating, and I’ve teased him about how he should start dating. So he likely wished to avoid that and questions. I do fill the role of little brother in some ways.” Many perhaps. But in others he certainly didn’t fit the role. “Lily and Xander don’t know I’m inked even though I use Xander as a doctor for more...discrete things.” Testing. he didn’t want his parents or normal doctor knowing he was sleeping around, or rather that he had been, and so he’d been playing it safe and getting tested to be safe. “The ink are reminders...something that I find soothing in a way.” Calming in that they reminded him and calmed him - grounded him even. He got his feeling sout by letting someone inject ink under his skin, as odd as it sounded. Quote: She listened patiently. The more she heard; a more and growing look of understanding registered there. She recalled a black raven man monster she had once happened on. One who seemed as if he were in a constant state of agony. She even considered the torturous feelings chaos gave her. Soothing… Then, Cerise was up and standing in front of him. She pulled him up with a gentle touch of his fingertips. When he was up, she wrapped her arms around him hugging him close. It was almost the kind of hugs moms are known for. Maybe big sisters even. It was definitely maternal and nurturing in the wrapping of her arms. “Hey… if you want… or need.. you can talk to me. There is no reason for you to suffer. The fact your pain is soothed by other pain is kind of like what I feel happening inside of me since this all started. This brings with it something that hurts in a strange sort of way. Feelings like this can make people feel like they are alone or have to suffer it bravely alone. While I’m sure noone else will be able to understand fully or know the things you’ve had to feel. You don’t have to be alone.” Then, she let go. She stepped back. Quote: Pain gave way to power, power came from pain. He brought pain to others, even death, and he also experienced pain of a physical, emotional and mental kind and he knew it all. Some more intimately than others but it was there - all of it. It was all there and so easy to recall, to bring up that pain again and feel it like it was still fresh and only dulled by a short amount of time rather than how long it had been. He had learned, was still learning, and he had long ago shed the rose tinted glasses so many people still wore, even some involved in this war. “Lessons can be learned and must not be forgotten - people cannot be forgotten either. I remind myself of those lessons.” With the ink. He remembered how he’d failed Bazzite. He remembers the loss of another, how he’d helped them so easily without a question or a thought. He remembered the feelings he’d had for them and that they were all for nothing...dashed to the winds and let go of. The darkness of the Rift was soothing and it’s quite, save for the youma, he was able to wander or read down there. Back before joining he knew he’d never have foreseen any of this for himself...even shortly after joining. So much time and so much change, the two went hand in hand like a married couple. Staring at her as she got up and stood in front of him he let her bring him to his feet. Standing he was surprised to find her arms about him and her pulling him into a hug. It was...odd. It was made odder by her chest, rather large in fact, right in his face and he did turn his eyes away from it but not due to embarrassment or to prevent the sort of staring one might suspect. Nope, he found the female form disgusting really it was just unattractive to him. Nodding to her words he closed his eyes for a brief moment before she was gone and stepping back .”Thank you...I’ll keep that in mind. You’re not a normal officer...you’re family also.” And that meant she was safe. He had no one safe to go to. Not when you didn’t know who would see weakness and turn you in or use it against you. he couldn’t trust himself to another officer and he knew it...it left him alone and sometimes ranting or talking would be nice especially without a filter. Quote: She glanced at him. She knew enough already just as a grown up from life experiences. Life was harsh, and it was often unfair to everyone. If he had been in this for a long time, and if his long and vast tattoo represented lives and lessons learned. That was a suffering that was beyond her understanding. Her wisdom came in her acknowledgement of her ignorance. She wasn’t some petulant teenager. She was a grown woman. “Sorry.” She gave him a sheepish apologetic smile with half rolling eyes. “You’re a little shorter than most people I hug. I’ll have to try something less awkward if I ever do that again.” She then exhaled a breath and combed her hair out over a shoulder. “I think… I’m gonna go grab a snack. I need a little walk.” Then, she left the room. She felt like she knew things now she might not have understood before. She felt like she went from not knowing him at all to knowing him on a profound level. It wasn’t totally unlike how she had befriended customers at the coffee shops before. This did feel a little different. At the very least.. she could trust him with Xander. At least there was another person out there besides just her who was looking out for them. Was anyone else so lucky to have multiple people safe guarding them? As she went about heading towards the cafeteria; she felt the push and pull within herself that still made her feel dishonest about hiding that part of her life from Xander. It felt like a dirty secret. Maybe the bad girl in her liked dirty secrets at one time; she didn’t feel ok about hiding anything from him. Not even that. That one thing she wasn’t supposed to tell anyone about. Ugh. Still… a few less worries. Quote: “Yeah...I’m not likely to ever grow any taller.” Something he had gotten used to and accepted a while back. He was oj being short and well..petite. It wasn’t anything bad it just meant he had some advantages due to his short height and his center of balance being where it was. His weapon, long as it was, was easy to handle as it was weighted and balanced for someone his size, which he was lucky for. “We’ll work out something next time...because as...pretty as you are I don’t need the view - from any female.” So it wasn’t just her but every female he found himself lacking an attraction to, at least every females chest from what he’d said just now. Combined with everything else and he was sure he had tossed himself out of the closet with her, which was good. he didn’t want her playing big sister and asking about girlfriends - ever. As she excused herself he watched her leave before slowly moving back to his chair, much slower than before. This was going to be interesting for sure. His elder brother was dating someone, and hadn’t told him! He would be talking to Xander about that, and possibly teasing him, but he had a sorta sister who was also in the Negaverse….this was very interesting but not at all unwelcome.
