Personality

Overview: True to her Fallen heritage, Janyeres is polite and courteous to all she meets. Very few will ever know how she truly feels about them, unless someone were to pester her until her breaking point. At that point though, instead of the irrational rage you would expect, there is an even calmer demeanor that will proceed to break the person down to their base components. For the most part no one will ever see this side to her as she has a fairly high tolerance for stupidity.

She's very intelligent, quick witted, and generally has a good grasp of the goings-on around her. She's friendly enough, but doesn't really have a circle of friends or associates she exclusively belongs to, preferring to just have friends because of who they are, not what they're social standing is. She is a bit of a loner though, not because she doesn't fit in, but because for the most part she just likes to be alone sometimes. She's not closed off though, and will always make time for someone who wants to talk, be it about their crush, or a problem they've been having.

Positive Traits:

• Intelligent: Like many Fallen, Janeryes values her intelligence and ability to retain information, be it a book she read, or remembering someone's name she met for the first time a few weeks prior.
  
• Compassionate: Despite her tendency to want to be alone, she is very concerned about how others are feeling and won't shy away from an awkward situation, if she thinks it's possible she can help.
  
• Sense of Balance: Janeryes knows that not all answers are in a book and that partying all night won't get you anywhere either. Jan does her best to keep her academic and what social life she chooses to have in balance.
  
  Negative Traits:
  
• Vain: Like many individuals who are aware they are attractive, Janeryes can be a little vain at times, be it spending hours making sure her feathers are clean, her long hair is free of tangles, or picking out just the right outfit.
  
• Arrogant: She's smart, she knows it, so why shouldn't she show off from time to time? Or course it's always embarrassing when she's wrong, but she accepts it with as much grace and good humor as she can muster.
  
• Repressed: While she is more than happy to laugh and joke around with her friends, Janeryes doesn't like to show when she's upset or hurt in public, preferring to sort out her own emotional messes on her own. She's slow to seek out help, and would much rather be a source of help for others, than have others worry about her.

Likes:

• Books: Only natural that she likes to expand her knowledge base. Janeryes is often carrying a book on her, be it assigned reading for class or the latest romance novel her friends insisted she had to read.
  
• Medicine: Janeryes likes to help people, and what better way to help them than by trying to become a doctor and save lives.
  
• Technology: Jan is a bit of a technophile and loves to play with new tech, be it in her field or for recreational purposes. She's the type (once she's old enough) to trade in her phone every time a new model comes out or constantly be updating her computer.
  
  Dislikes
  
• Getting Stuck: Janeryes hates to get stuck on a problem. Every problem should have a solution be it an academic or personal.
  
• Ignorance: Ignorance may be bliss, but don't enforce your viewpoint on her. It is the quickest and easiest way to get her to snap.
  
• Losing her Temper: It's not professional, she knows she says things she shouldn't even if they are true, but it makes her feel awkward afterwards and she'll often go hide and avoid people for awhile.

Hobbies: Reading, playing computer games, flying, hanging out with her friends.

Thoughts on Fallen: Being polite and courteous is all fine and dandy, but the fixation on yesterday, kind of bothers her. People are prone to make the same mistakes as they made in the past anyway, so why keep looking back instead of forward. Be aware of the mistakes you made but do something about them instead of just being so...passive. She wishes her race were expected to be a little more ambitious.

Other Races: Having been raised around other races all her life, she finds nothing particularly wrong with any of them. She's aware she's not supposed to like Geist, due to some tensions in the past, but that was a long time ago, and frankly silly. Why should she have to dislike someone because of something their ancestors may or may not have done a billion years ago. Better to value people for their personality than their racial misdeeds they can in no way be held accountable for.

Enoch: Janeryes feels welcome in her house, her primary focus is medicine and that requires a lot of critical thinking and problem solving, so the focus on logic and the sciences suits her just fine.

Janeryes for once was excited about a language arts assignment. She'd get to write all about what she wanted to be when she grew up. Granted, if this had been a few weeks prior she wouldn't have had a clue about what to write about. She'd still be thinking about being an engineer or a mathematician, both good, but not what she wanted. Not anymore!

Janeryes set her things down on her desk, then climbed into her chair, careful not to muss her feathers too much.

What I want to be when I grow up.

Good paper titled! Now to the meat of the matter.

When I grow up, I want to be a doctor. Doctors help people, and take care of them when they're sick or hurt. I don't like it when people are hurt or feeling down, so I want to be able to help as many people as possible with all the things I can learn in my study to be a doctor.

She frowned and tapped her pencil against the page in her notebook.

I know it'll be really hard to become a doctor, and I'll have to learn about bodies and the sometimes gross things they do, but I know I can do it! So that is what I want to be when I get older.

She nodded firmly satisfied with her essay and wrote her name at the top before moving on to her math homework.
