Ricky was still feeling a rush from the previous night. He hadn't powered up to Troy Squire in quite some time, and especially not to get into any action. Sure, it was just two common thugs - no Negaverse agents that night - but it was still exhilarating. And something he would have to keep private from Haley, as much as that ached him already. He was keeping some distance. She was busy inside the trailer, stoned off her a**, as he was getting to work outdoors, working on chopping up an old fallen tree for some firewood for later that night. It was a relaxing activity for him, something where he can let his mind go blank, and he got a bit lost in thought as he chopped away at the wood that he lost all sense of his surroundings, and whatever may be lurking about...

He'd followed the trail - not creepily, he'd like to add - until it had reached the trailer in the woods, Celsus originally just curious as to why they had been going to such a secluded place. But once he'd seen Ricky wandering around inside - someone he hadn't seen for quite some time - the power signature and the familiarity of it became much more evident, much more enlightening.
So he'd come back, the next day, powered down back to his normal self instead of Celsus. Fritz had ridden his bike out, mostly because it was a lot less conspicuous than a car, and he didn't want to actually startle the man. He probably lived out here for a reason, after all, but Fritz was too eager about the prospect of reconnecting with one of the lost Chronos knights that it was really the only thing on his mind.
When he arrived at the trailer, it was to find the man himself outside, axe in hand, and Fritz parked his bike at the front, leaning it against a nearby tree. It would probably do no good to surprise a man while he was swinging an axe, in case he might lose an eye; but Fritz still ambled quietly up, a smile winding its way onto his face.
Then he leaned against a tree, just in sight, folded his arms across his chest, and waited.

It took a short while for Ricky to actually notice the man leaning against the tree, just off in his peripheral. It startled the s**t out of him to say the least as he yelped and swung the axe back, dropping it behind him. He nearly stumbled and fell onto it - something that probably would have been fatal, or at least very painful - but caught himself in time. On a second glance, however, it was a rather familiar face from his past. They didn't know each other too well, especially as civilians, but he recognized him as a fellow Knight of Chronos. "Holy s**t!" he started. "French Fry, is that you?" Unfortunately, he could not remember Fritz's name for the life of him, so logically assumed that his name was French Fry, because why wouldn't his name be that. He charged forward to the acquaintance who he couldn't even correctly remember the name of and went to give him a giant, tight bear hug to lift him off his feet and maybe crack his back (or all of his bones) in the process. Ricky was a warm greeter, and no longer allowed to hold bunnies for a reason.

Well, he hadn't planned on scaring the poor man, but, well, it seemed he had anyway. Fritz just stood there, smiling beatifically at Ricky as though he had been there the entire time and was just simply taking a rest against this particular tree.
"French Fry?" he said quizzically, pushing himself away - and then gave a startled squawk of his own as he was lifted into a spine crushing hug, feet leaving the ground. A burst of laughter escaped Fritz, delighted even with his surprise, and he would have returned the embrace, had not his arms been pinioned to his sides by Ricky's.
"Yes, hello, Ricky!" he said, grinning. "It's been some time, and, well, I'm sure that French Fry is as good a name as any. So sorry for just showing up out the blue, I was just rather excited to find you again, after all, that I rather forgot to greet you properly."

"Yeah, French Fry. That's your name, ain't it?" he questioned, his wide smile still beaming at seeing an old face. Suddenly, he doubted himself. Oh well. "No need to apologize, buddy! Glad to have you over! s**t, it's been a while. How have ya been?" And for a moment, an unusual moment, Ricky did something he rarely ever did. Ricky thought."Wait, how did ya even find me out here?" he asked. He was either too naive or too trusting to be suspicious in the least, but he hadn't advertise his new location to many.

It should not have surprised him that Ricky had forgotten his name, even if Fritz was one of those people that remembered a lot of things that other people didn't. French Fry worked well enough as it was, anyway, and it was close, regardless.
"I'm good, I'm good," said Fritz with a laugh as he was set back down. He brushed his hair out of his face and smiled. "I've been...well, I've not been doing much, I'm afraid, but I wanted to come and check in on you, after all, seeing as how it's been a while."
The question wasn't entirely unexpected, but it still made him let out a slightly sheepish sound, Fritz raising a hand to rub at the back of his neck.
"Well, I saw you, er...last night," he said, with a little grin. "Troy you, I mean, and I may have errrr...kind of followed you back here, but just because I was concerned about you!" he added quickly, waving both hands in front of him. "It's been so long, after all."

"Aw, you were concerned? That's cute," Ricky beamed genuinely. He was happy to see an old friendly face again, and too overjoyed by that to think twice about being followed home. His face went flat for a moment though. "Though gotta keep it on the down-low about me runnin' around as Troy last night," he whispered. "My girl's inside, and she don't know I powered up again. She asked me not to." He paused. "Also keep it on the down-low that I called her my girl. She'll yell at me because of some feminist s**t. You know. Women, right?" He laughed and gave Fritz a friendly smack on the back. Hard. A five-star, essentially. "Ya still fightin' the good fight, though? Man, I miss it sometimes. It was fun when people were't like, dead and all."

Fritz couldn't help but beam at Ricky, because it was rather nice to be greeted so cheerfully. He was also relatively glad that the other didn't exactly find Fritz's awkward creeping to his house to be...well, awkward and creepy, when really he'd just been concerned overall.
Fritz tilted his head towards the trailer, eyes sweeping over it. "Why doesn't she want you powering up?" he asked quizzically, then gave a little squawk at the hard slap to his back.
He straightened, and smiled. "It's been a long while, still fighting," said Fritz lightly. "But yes, minus a few unpleasant kidnappings here and there, as well as some less than tolerable fights with Negaverse scum, it hasn't been too bad as of late."
His expression softened slightly. "Are you ever going to come back to the Zodiac, Ricky?"

"The Zodiacs?" he questioned. It had been so long since he last heard the name. He smiled widely, old faces all popping back into memory. "Hell ya I would!" He worried he was a little too loud at that, and shifted his tone into a soft whisper instead. "We just can't tell my girl if I do," he said, a bit of hesitance. He didn't want to keep secrets from her, especially disobeying her direct request, but he missed the old team. "She doesn't want me puttin' myself in danger, y'know? She's been all weird about it lately, made us move out of the city to this here trailer and all because of it." "I ain't complaining, I love it here, but I miss the rush," he elaborated. "I can sneak out sometime soon if ya wanna get the gang all together."

There was relief on Fritz's face that he hadn't quite realized he was showing until he heard the bright, cheerful acceptance. Some of the tension eased out of Fritz's shoulders, and he gave a little nod, stepping closer to Ricky to hear him better.
"Neither of you power up, then?" Fritz asked, brows drawing together in concern. "Is it...is it just from worry over hurt? I mean...I suppose I can understand that, it's difficult not to be hurt when we're stuck in the middle of a war, but..."
He drew in a breath and then eased it out again, more a sigh than anything else.
"We've lost much of what we had," said Fritz, idly twisting his signet ring. "I have not heard from much of the old allies we could rely on, especially those in the Zodiac. The Princess is scarce, and Virgo is...well, I am unaware of where. But I have been in contact with some of the knights, and it has been a great source of joy to me."
His eyes flickered towards Ricky, some of the fire that had once lit Fritz's eyes returning.
"I should very much like to see you again as Troy, alongside the rest of us that still remain."

"She's just being an ol' worrywart I reckon," Ricky shrugged. He never pressed the issue very hard with Haley, but she was pretty clear and strict in instruction to avoid powering up. The mention of Virgo's whereabouts being unknown gave him some concern, but also gave him some fuel to get back to things. He couldn't just quit and be another name that's disappeared from the war - safely or otherwise. "I'd like that," Ricky nodded. "Ya gotta give me a holler when you're settin' up a meet. Maybe we can do a sweep around the city some night to get back to action?"

Inwardly, he disliked the fact that everything felt so...unstable. The missing presence of their princess and their captain was enough to make him concerned as it was, but they were also missing a great deal of their knights, which Fritz found painful.
But no, he told himself, with a minute shake of his head. No, he was doing well, he was slowly getting himself back on his feet, there were others he could share the weight with, share the life with, and that was the important thing. Focus on the positives, not the negatives.
"I think I'd like that a lot," said Fritz, beaming a smile at Ricky. "I have dearly missed the times when we were all together, it seems like such a long time ago, and although I know things are different now, well..."
He gave a little shrug of his shoulder.
"I just want us to regain a portion of what we've lost."

"I hear ya," Ricky agreed somberly. There was a brief pause, interrupted by some noises coming from inside the trailer. "s**t." He moved closer towards the woods, less in view of the trailer. "Don't want the girl to catch us, she'll have her questions and I ain't a good liar with her once she starts askin' stuff." It was a weakness - he could keep a secret when there wasn't suspicion, but he caved under questioning from her. "I need ta get back to choppin'," he said, nudging his head over to the pile of wood. "But we should go on some patrols. We can do those note things to keep in touch." Previously, Troy had only used the notes to draw penises and breasts for everyone because he was bored and had the mind of a child. Now, he might take it more seriously. "It was good seein ya, French Fry."
