The glittering Khaldera surfaced at the edge of what she had learned was a land called 'Eowyn' and was said to be a dried up husk of a land. It was supposed to be filled with nothing but sand, sun, and dragons of a few species. This was the place that she was going to be hunting for a good long while it would seem... though she couldn't say that she was a big fan of the idea. Who would want to come to a world like this one? What sorts of beasts would live here? They must be a hardy type, that much was clear, and they were the sorts that she would have to test herself against if she was going to get herself strong enough to be able to lead her clan one day. She had to be strong, to tough even things like this hellish wasteland known as Eowyn.
"What a terrible place." She muttered between her many sharp teeth as she dragged herself out of the water, standing on the beach. Her head turned from one side to the other, taking in everything closely, before giving a huffing sound. Yes, completely awful! This place, with it's complete lack of water made her miss her deep water home that much more. This was a test though, likely one of the biggest ones that she was going to have to deal with she thought as she walked along the beach, not quite ready to go into the desert quite yet. She'd stick close to the ocean for at least the time being, until she got used to the idea of this place.
Surely there was the chance that... AH! There we go, now that was the way! Standing there, some distance away from where Khaldera herself was, were a pair of dragons. It was a wonderful sight because it meant that she would be able to fight near to her own element. It gave her a possible out if she found herself in need a retreat she thought, tail swishing behind her. Walking forward, teeth clicking together, the female saw no reason at all the try to sneak. It was likely due to her being so used to her own glowing hide. Back home, and even while visiting Soudul she'd stuck out due to the fact that her skin was glow in the dark. It had put her into the mind set of not bothering to sneak because it was so ineffectual. Why waste her time with such things?
As she got closer she was able to size the pair of dragons up. A pair of younger dragons, their pristine scars said that, and the way that they were almost arguing said they were likely young males, in a tussle over something, territory, maybe? That or it was a female, from what she'd seen of dragons, and even the land Khehora, they had far different ways of going about things then her own tribe. It was interesting to watch, as though the pair were putting on a show for Khaldera's benefit. It allowed her to get to know them a little better and her fear of them was minimal at best. They shouldn't be too difficult to deal with if you asked the somewhat haughty angler merkora.
With this somewhat arrogant thought in her mind she set to gather her magical power into her throat, drawing a deep breath along with it, and set a powerful blast of dark breath toward the pair of dragons. She'd see about startling the pair first, throwing them of their guard, and then she'd strike with claw, fang, and diabi magic.

The initial blast was fairly effective at doing just what Khaldera had wanted it to do, that being to startle the pair of male dragons. The blast hadn't been aimed directly at either of them in particular but instead between the pair. The blast had thrown sand in all directions, a glorious weapon it would seem from the manner in which they were flailing about, trying to get the sand out of their eyes. Khaldera clicked her teeth together, amused, before she went charging forward. There was something that she realized right away, sand wasn't something that was easy to move through. The stuff wasn't good for catching any sort of traction, made her feet sink into it a bit, and was otherwise good only for slowing her down. It was something that was good to learn now, before she was in over her head or something she thought to herself.
Pushing herself forward, refusing to be defeated by something so simple as sand, Khaldera snapped at one of the two dragons... only to miss as it pushed itself up into air, just out of reach, "Well now, someone is lucky." She muttered as the dragon moved out of her reach. There was the problem that came with fighting on land as opposed to in the water, their ability to fly. She knew that it was a bother but she also knew that there was a way to fix it, by taking away their precious wings. Once they had no wings then the dragons would find themselves on the same level as Khaldera and they would be forced to fight with her. Better then having to deal with the fact that they now had an advantage over her, something she didn't care for in the least, especially with the two of them being males. As if any male would ever best her!
Hissing a bit between her teeth, tail lashing, she set to gathering her power once more so that she could see the dragons that were flying above her parted from their wings. She could only hope that this time, unlike the last time she tried this sort of move, that they didn't just plummet to their deaths. She wanted a good fight after all, not to have them die from crashing into the ground. Sure, she'd get an orb out of it, but she would rather wrest the orbs away from dragons with her skill, not because of a mix of luck and gravity... if it was kind of funny to occasionally see such things defeat a powerful beast like a dragon.
To prevent her battle from being destroyed by such a thing though she released smaller, more concentrated burst of power, punching holes in the wings of the circling dragons. They weren't holes that would called them to just fall out of the air, instead merely forcing them to the ground because they were unable to fly well anymore. It was a bit of a process, one that left her open to a couple of their attacks in turn, but worth it. It meant that the dragons were now brought down to the ground where she would be able to fight them easily.
As the pair of dragons were forced down to the ground before her the look on Khaldera's face could only be described as pure joy. This was how she wanted to fight! A shame most the dragons had to have wings she thought to herself as she lifted up onto back legs, giving a great roar, before charging forward toward toward the pair of them. She was more then ready for this battle and the prospect of getting her claws on some of their orbs.

Feeling that the best idea was to take the dragons on at the same time Khaldera made sure to keep moving as fast as possible. It was a difficult thing with the sand trying to slow her down and make the battle fall more into the dragon's favor, but it wasn't something that she would allow. As though she would be able to actually stand up against the elements themselves, as well as the land of Eowyn. A bit more then anyone might be able to do really but if anyone could do it then it would be Khaldera due to her drive alone. She had a goal and she meant to reach that goal, so she couldn't let something as silly and simple as sand keep her from it.
Once she was closer Khaldera released a blast of her magic, kicking up a cloud of sand, and lunged through it and at the dragon that had pulled back to avoid getting more sand in his eyes. That left him open for an attack, an opening that Khaldera was only too happy to take advantage of as she sank her many, sharp teeth into the dragon's throat. Hanging there a moment she set to shaking her head wildly. It was something that instantly had the dragon reacting by shuffling backward, shaking his head as well, trying to get free of the hold that the glittering merkora had one him. It wasn't something that was working out though, instead all the struggling only helped her teeth to sink in deeper, causing more damage.
The taste of dragon blood was quite exhilarating, causing Khaldera's heart to race in a delighted manner as she swung herself up, kicking at the dragon's chest with her back feet. It caused even more blood loss and the dragon's struggling started to weaken, just as the dragon was doing. It wasn't all that long before the large dragon was collapsing first to it's knees, and then down to it's side, before it started to crumble away leaving behind nothing more blood covered sand and an orb. It was something that had the angler merkora grinning a bit, "Mmmm, delicious. Now... about that friend of yours."
After scooping up the kiandri orb with her tail she turned around to face the second dragon, gathering more of her magical power as she did so. It seemed as though the dragon was torn between an attempt at escape and fighting with her. It made sense for it to want to do the former though, not just because Khaldera had killed the other kiandri, but because with the other male dead there was no competition. Khaldera had wiped out the dragon's rival and if it were to escape now then it would be able to go forth and claim whatever the two of them had been fighting over. It was something that Khaldera knew was a possibility... but when it happened it still had her giving an angry snarl of distaste.
"I don't think so, this isn't going to be so easy to avoid!" She snarled after the kiandri dragon before she went charging along after it while gather more power to herself. She was going to have to run and cast at the same time, not the easiest thing to do, but she wasn't about to let her prey get away, not so easily at least. The dragon had an orb, one that Khaldera wanted, wanting to be able to add the pair of Kiandri orbs to her growing collection. Sending another burst of dark power toward the dragon she gave a little curse when it hit the male but didn't really slow him down all that much. She would need to aim better or else he was going to get away...

Chasing a dragon across the hot sands of Eowyn wasn't how Khaldera expected for her first hunt in the area to turn out. The sand was the worst part of all of it, tripping her up, slowing her down, and otherwise making it seem as though she was going lose her prey. It was only the occasional shot with her dark magic that seemed to slow the male before her down, allowing her to close ground between them. It wasn't enough that she was getting closer exactly, instead it was allowing her to avoid falling behind or worse, lose sight of the dragon all together. There was a part of her that said that it would likely be easier for her to just let this one go and find others to hunt, that she didn't want to get too far away from her starting point... but she was also a very stubborn female, one that didn't want to let something she wanted to get away.
While it was likely a better idea to stop, to let the one before her go, and to try to find new prey she couldn't do it. She couldn't let him get away! She couldn't let this dragon take over a new territory and it be all because of her. She didn't care for the idea of helping someone else, a male at that, into such a position of power. She was here to help herself, to get herself stronger, she wasn't here to help out some random dragon get into a new position and take over territory. That was just foolishness! No, she wouldn't allow her actions to cause such a shift in power. Bah, didn't the males of this land know their place? She'd go with 'no' since those she had met thus far hadn't exactly been like the males in her clan. How she missed them, the cute, soft spoken, more dull colored males... but that was neither here nor there, she couldn't let her mind wander to such things.
She had to think about the dragon that was before her, not about the clan that was deep below the waves. She had to collect orbs and get stronger if she was going to return to them after all. Her clan was waiting for her triumphant return, meaning that she needed every orb that she could get her claws on! This thought in mind she released another blast of power, this one larger then those that had come before it, and it hit the dragon square in the leg, sending it sprawling and rolling. This attack was a perfect one because it was going to allow her to finally catch up!
Excitement filling the angler merkora she set to running that much faster, her heart thudding her her chest, her eyes alight. This was her chance to take this one down and it wasn't a chance that she was going to squander. No, she'd catch up with him, take him out, and take his orb as her own!

As the kiandri dragon went into its roll, something that caused its escape attempt to end completely Khaldera had taken full advantage of the situation, rushing toward the fallen dragon. Once close enough she went climbing up onto it, claws digging into any sort of soft, vulnerable areas, as she made her way toward the creature's head. The head was the most dangerous part of the dragon but at the same time it was closest to one of the most vulnerable places, that being the dragon's throat. All she had to do was get at that place, to tear into it, and it would make the dragon bleed out. It was the swiftest way to go about taking down a dragon she had found and that meant that it was something she would strike at.
"You made me waste a lot of time and energy on you, dragon!" She spat out between her many sharp teeth as she made her way forward, finally reaching her target. Lunging she snapped her jaws at the dragon's neck... only to get thrown off of the creature when it rolled. She landed on her side in the sand, getting half covered in the stuff. It was something that caused a displeased sound to escape from her as she dragged her way to her feet again. Shaking off what sand she could, though the majority remained stuck, she barred her teeth at the dragon, "Oh, a tough guy, huh? Not something I care for in the least!" This was why she preferred the men from her own clan, they were far better then those of land dwellers if only because they knew their place better. Not that she thought the dragons would just give their orbs up, though it would be considerate.
As electricity started to crackle in the air, a sure sign that the creature was preparing to attack with his magic. It was something that instantly had Khaldera on guard as she too gathered up her own power so that she could make the attempt to counter the Kiandri. The two spells were released at the same time, the two magics mixing in the air in a rather volatile manner before exploding. Both Khaldera and the dragons were thrown back, though neither damaged enough to score either side a knock out. Instead the battle continued with Khaldera once more charging in to try attack in a more physical and close quarters way.
A couple more tussles with the dragon later and she had finally scored an attack that dropped the kiandri into a heap in the sand. It had just barely landed before it started to crumble away, leaving behind nothing but the glittering orb for her taking. Walking over to where it lay the merkora gave a rumbling purr as she picked it up in one claws forefoot, looking it over, "Beautiful! Now, to hide the two of you before I continue with my hunting." Tossing the orb she held in her claws over her shoulder she caught it with the end of her tail, wrapping her tail fin around the two. Once that was done she was on her way, back to the ocean, where she would hide the pair of orbs in the water, out of reach of normal hunters.
