There were many things that Espresso Brulee liked about the end of Summer and the dawning of Autumn. He was glad to be rid of the heat, as sweating was really not his favorite thing to do. Autumn brought cool temperatures, cripsy leaves, wooly scarves and hot beverages.

But what it also marked was the beginning of the invasion.

The invasion of the most terrible, horrible creatures. They tried to get inside to escape the outdoors and stay safe in the climate neutral household.

This was something Bru dreaded. It was his worst nightmare when it came true. The pegasus was minding his own business, making a cup of tea in the kitchen when he saw something skitter out of the corner of his eye. There it was, on the wall just inches from his head. Just hanging out and watching him with it's terribly, multiple eyes.

Bru dropped his cup and left out a blood curdling scream.

It was quite the sight, Bru was floating in mid-air, with one hoof extended outwards. His cup of tea smashed on the floor with a liquid splat left on the counter and floor below. "THERE! RIGHT THERE."

This was side that few ever got to see. Bru acting girlishly timid, because hanging on the wall was a large spider with spindly legs. It skittered towards the corner with Bru's high pitched wail. "A monster! An hellbeast! Send it back tot he depths from which it came!"

As Royal stood there watching him and not acting, Bru's cry turned into a repeated plea of " Get it, get it, get it, get it, geeeeet iitttt."

"It might well be trying to murder me you don't know tha..." Then there was the clash. It was gut instincts for Bru to jump up as well, higher than he already been. The pegasus was practically against the ceiling, his wings beating furiously.

"What was that!? Don't tell me that was more of them coming to get me." While he was logical by nature, he honestly had no idea if spiders could form a little military that could attack the house.

The sound jolted the spider as well and it ran for cover. It ran up the wall to the corner where it a small web. Bru had taken no note of it, but now, looking again at the spot on the wall notice that the spider was gone.

"Did... did you get it? Was that some wonderful unicorn magic to make it flee?"

He started to relax.

"Yes. Yes, the spider. Sight of those retched creepy.. crawling things sends a tingle up my spine just thinking about it. " He almost jerked just saying it, as if he could feel tiny legs crawling on him. But then... what his fiancee said worried him...

"Hold.... still? ... don't tell me..." Bru's face was nearly turning white as he stood motionless in fear that the thing would bite him, wherever it was.

That look on her face was telling. Then he could feel the tickle of little spindly legs shifting and moving under his vest. Frozen in terror, Bru was about to crack. "IT'S IN .. MY... CLOTHES."

"getitoutgeitoutgetitout!" The usually stoic phony squealed like a frighten little girl.

As his wife-to-be undressed him, the pegasus held his breath until it was over. His coat and that monster were out the door. He sighed relief as he lifted his wings to make sure the foul creature was gone. "You saved me!"

Then he heard the laughing, his face flushed with embarrassment. "It's not that funny.... it could have been poisonous!"

"I'm glad I can amuse you..." Bru cautiously approached, to see if it was indeed gone.

"Burn it!?" His face fell at the thought." Maybe just.. a thorough washing in boiling water." Reluctantly, he took the vest back, turning it over gently. "But perhaps you better assist me, in case their are more little assassins spiders waiting in the wings."
