☆ HISTORY 》 ⇨ Z lived away from where the Great War was fought. It could even be said she lived in another world where her people hid amongst the trees, living the life they had lived for countless centuries. They had traditions and customs, rituals and the like-just like every other civilization. But they were darker than most, studying voodoo magic, alchemy, shadow magic, and necromancy. They were well known for their “savage” ways, for their livelihoods consisting of war, cannibalism, spirit rituals, and sacrifices.
Z wasn’t an exception-she lived and fought in wars from the day she could hold a hatchet. She was brave, intelligent, curious, intuitive, and worthy of being a leader one day. They first taught her how to be a shadow hunter. Her bond with the Loa spirits was unprecedented, the spirits speaking to her like she was an elder. While unprecedented, learning to curse and heal with the powers still took time. She was eager and willing to work day and night, and the guiding elders and chieftains were more than willing to oblige.
Linked closely and watched by other elders, the witch doctors sought to take her on as well and show her their ways. She thought at first that she would rather hone her skills in one area, but her first lesson on alchemy and alchemical rituals had her biting and grabbing for any knowledge she could get. In the mornings, she worked with the elder witch doctors, and by night she was working the shadow hunters.
Inevitably, the two dominating factions that lived near to her location closed in on the savages. They were disgusted by their way of life, and thought it better to exterminate the rats while they could. Precious as she was, the elders protected Z and helped her to escape before returning back to the tribe’s village to sturdy the defenses against the factions. Her tribe still exists, if only in small numbers, and is holed up in the hills somewhere. She hopes to go back and reclaim the land when she is better trained and has more resources.
