She dragged her telescope with her in her mother's car because the night was supposed to be perfectly crystal clear, according to the weather station she watched so religiously. Rose's hair was braided, in a thick, long braid behind her back and dressed in a pair of shorts with a tee shirt tucked into them (A UFO with I believe on it), a pair of chunky black boots, and that was it. She was a very simple girl when it came to fashion. Honestly she didn't keep up with the latest tends, she just did her own thing. Like taking astronomy way too seriously sometimes. Especially since she'd been awakened as a senshi. It was two years ago that she was awakened as Sailor Kepler, Senshi of Words, and very slowly the studious girl was falling into her roll and doing her part. Doing what she needed to. Oh, sure, there were events she didn't go to because she had a job at a movie theater as a ticket seller since her internship was up at the Earth and Science Museum, but you know. Normal life often got in the way of things. That, and her fear of meeting a ton of people because she was afraid it was a trap set by the Negaverse. She might be a little paranoid lately. Either way, she was relaxing right now, looking up through the stars on a hill she loved to frequent. She has a blanket set out with books and food, some drinks. There was even a chair covered in pillows and blankets as if she planned to stay out here all night. She did that a lot. All in all it was shaping up to be a fantastically quiet night.

Bimini was patrolling on the far outskirts of town, moving further and further away from the lights and bustle of the city. He claimed he was just checking out new places, extending his patrol further. But if he was being truthful.. it was probably more likely he was hiding. Hoping against hope that this far out he wouldn't run into anyone that was intent on hurting him. Not after his last couple of patrols had ended up so nearly lethal.
He couldn't feel the aura of anyone powered around as he moved along, neither Order or Chaos. But eventually he did see some movement in the distance, and he braced the distance and slight incline of the hill in curiousity, still feeling no aura.
In the moonlight he could tell that it was a young woman, the telescope and blanket setup easily made out even in the darkness. Was she stargazing? Or maybe... waiting for someone to join her? It looked as if it could be a pretty romantic date spot. Did she have some late night rendevous planned with some lucky guy (or girl)?
For a moment he paused, debating, his curiousity to see what exactly she was doing weighing against the potential of scaring her off or making things uncomfortable if/when her companion showed up. And for a moment he even paced a couple steps. In the end though he couldn't deny his curious and sociable nature. The bowl in his hand disappeared, feeling no need for the weapon, and slowly he walked forward.
It was, perhaps, the first time ever he'd been thankful for his uniform. The light colored and over the top robes were entirely unintimidating, if anything they were more likely to instill laughter or confusion before fear. No.. he was just a silly looking guy, with rainbow streaks in his black 'mullet', beautiful soft robes that sparkled like the stars in the shine, and a smile that was entirely harmless as he called out finally. Softly, not wanting to break the quiet peace of the night. "It's a beautiful night isn't it?"

Rose was so absorbed in watching the stars she didn't hear, or sense anyone around her. She had this blissfully relaxed expression on her face. Every now and then she would back away from the telescope and use her flashlight to jot something down in the journal she was keeping. She was documenting what stars she saw in what location of the sky, wanting to compare it to last years to see if it matched up. It wasn't until she heard a voice that startled her did she realize she wasn't alone. Rose jumped and dropped her pen and book on the blanket. A hand pressed to her heart and she patted it slowly while taking a deep breath as she looked at the owner of this voice. "Jesus, you scared me," she said, giving him a very thin, nervous smile. She swallowed and looked the man over, slowly starting to relax. He didn't look like a Negaverse agent, or a Corrupt Senshi, or even a Dark Mirror Senshi. That left... a knight. "It's.. It is, actually." She smiled a little wider, a bit more honestly before dropping her hands to her side. "...Where did you come from?"

He withdrew a step subconciously as she reacted in surprise jumping a little and dropping her book (not that that was strange really given the circumstance. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." He offered sheepishly, his hands rising in an attempt to show that he meant no harm.
As her voice shifted subtly, the tone of nervousness softening a little, he debated rushing forward to pick up the stuff she'd dropped. But even he knew that that might be a bad idea, whether or not she knew he was a knight or simply thought she was some guy with weird fashion tastes.
Taking a couple tentative steps closer, so he could see her better in the dim starlight, he grinned sheepishly. "I was just out for a walk really and I saw you moving around up here. I was just kind of curious...."
His eyes lifted momentarily skyward, looking past all the stars to a place he knew resided far past them. A tiny wonder tucked away in the far reaches of the Cosmos. The sky was even more magnificent from up on the hill, but obviously that was probably why she had set up up here.
"I can leave you alone.. if I'm bothering you." The words were offered in politeness, because it was something he knew he should say. But it was pretty obvious from his tone and expression that he was hoping she wouldn't shoo him away. He kind of wanted to look at the stars now too, and doing so with a lovely lady would just complete the list of 'things he would like to do instead of patrolling for monsters'.

Ah, he was a good guy. He wouldn't be this polite if he was a Negaverse agent... Her lips curled in a more friendly way and she smoothed her hands over her shirt before shaking her head. "No, no! You're fine. Don't.. leave.." She gave a soft laugh and just rubbed at her cheek. "You're not bothering me. I was just mapping out the stars tonight.. I'm comparing and contrasting constellations every year to see if we're still moving at the same speed and..." Well, now she just sounded like a giant nerd. She rolled her eyes at herself and then sighed. "I'm kind of a big.. geek for space. Hi. I'm Rose Rainwater." She held out her hand a bit and just smiled happily. "...Which Knight do you fall under?" She dropped her voice to a whisper at that and then gave him a bit a flustered look. "Ahhh. I'm... Sailor Kepler.." She was absolutely sure there was no one around. She could say it. "Senshi of words. And this is a very awkward meeting, and I'm so sorry."

To say he was relieved that she hadn't shouted for him to leave or otherwise shoo'd him off was an understatement. He didn't really want to go back to patrolling, especially after her expression shifted to something so sweet and friendly. Anyone that knew Corey knew how jovial and social the man-child was, to the point of overbearing at some points.
As she began to tell him about what she was doing he moved a little bit closer glancing from the stars, to the telescope, and then back to her. A pleasant laugh escaped him when she sighed, attempting to brush away her concerns with a playful wink. "Well that's alright. I'm a geek for a whole lot of things, so I won't begrudge you for liking space."
He had been about to start listing off some of those 'interests' that often made him seem much more like a teenager than the adult he was supposed to be, but at that moment she introduced herself. A beautiful.. almost hippie name. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. And then she said something that stopped him in his tracks, his hand pausing in mid-air.
She knew about knights...? Was she some unlucky civilian that had just gotten caught up in what was going on in the city? Or...? He didn't have to wait long to find out.
"Bimini, squire of the Cosmos." He responded in turn, his hand finally completing it's path to touch hers and offer a soft squeeze. Voice lowered to match her own whisper, he mused. "Corey Boone when I decide to dress less frivolously." So she was a senshi..? What a very small world it was.. or maybe, somewhere deep down they were all attracted to each other in some way.
Releasing her hand, after probably a moment too long of holding it, he smiled, glancing back out towards the sky. "No it's fine. I'm the one that crashed the party. Can you... see your star from here?"
For a moment he debated powering down, but he decided in the end to remain powered. It would let him detect if anything bad were to try and creep up on them, and if need be he could power down if it seemed like something was looking for them.

"Unfortunately not with this telescope." She reached out and pet it slowly before biting down on her bottom lip again. "Corey Boone... Your name sounds familiar, but I can't place it..." Her lips pulled into a little frown as she tried to think but came up empty. Then she rolled her shoulders in a shrug and Rose just put her hands behind her back. She wanted to ask if he as out here because of Negaverse energy, but honestly? She would have felt it. Or she hoped she would. A pink come came and swiped at her lips, dampening them slowly against the cooler air. "Kepler is about 600 light years from earth. It's not too far, but it's not too close either. I know it's an extrasolar planet." She loved talking about her planet, honestly. "I've been there once, and it was ...not completely in ruins. Lots of great libraries.." Oh, Rose sounded wistful at that.

"Oh?" His interest perked softly as she mentioned possibly having heard his name before. And with an over the top flourish, he gave her a playful bow. "The man - the legend - my reputation proceeds me." His comment was clearly however, extremely tongue in cheek, and after a look of amusement he mused. "I own the arcade down on the main drag, Electric Dreams. Have you popped by there at some point maybe?"
"Or maybe you've heard the ladies at the supermarket scolding me on free sample day? They always get so uppity after the 3rd or 4th sample." It was a joke but not one that was too far from reality. He'd certainly overstayed his welcome a time or five while trying to save on buying lunch by simply hitting up the supermarket.
As she spoke about her star he listened with soft interest. He didn't know much about space, especially when it came to light years and what not, and he was happy to listen. When she talked about actual space travel he smiled a little knowingly. "Libraries huh? That sounds nice."
"Bimini, the fountain of youth," he added for clarification because few knew, "was, well still is, pretty worn down. Though I've been trying to fix it up lately."
"It's a small little place so it's not that bad. It used to be some.. super fancy day spa I guess. I guess you could say the service industry runs in my blood." He laughed, before teasing softly. "Guess that means smarts must run in yours huh?"Saint Sergio Super sorry for the delay! My Juno muse has been pretty much drowning out everyone else. >w<

She was so glad she could geek out and not be looked at like some kind of freak. Rose took a deep breath and laughed to herself before shaking her head at his question. "No, with my schedule, I'm lucky to get homework done before midnight." She laughed a little to herself and then clicked her tongue with a slow shrug. "But, I'm learning how to balance it out." She pushed her hair out of her face one more time and then snorted. "Hardly. I tend to sneak thirds.. But I don't do it all the time. Just on days where I've accidentally skipped lunch." Then he talked about his wonder and her eyes glittered. The fountain of youth? She thought that was an absolute myth! She looked excited as he continued to talk about it. Why didn't she put Bimini and that together? Ugh, she felt so stupid. Maybe she needed to brush up on her mythology. "I don't know about if smarts run in my family, but it's... Well. I guess we're all very scholarly, so maybe." She shrugged and then bit down on her lip. "Can you take people to your wonder?"

His finger lifted, swaying back and forth in soft and obviously playful tsk tsk motion. "You've totally got to balance it out a little bit. Even if it's 99% work and 1% play you've got to have a little fun."
"Though it sounds like this might be your version of fun and relaxation huh?" He regarded after a moment. It was perhaps a little more.. subdued then his usual type of entertainment, but it wasn't bad in any means. In fact right now simply watching the stars during a peaceful night was downright blissful. Especially with lovely and pleasant company.
His eyes lowered from the stars to her when she asked about his wonder, a hand lifting to scratch his head thoughtfully. "Well.. I've never done it before actually. But I should be able to. I know Michael, my ancestor, mentioned it once."
"You.... wanna go sometime when I've got it cleaned up a little better?" He offered tentatively. Not because he minded at all, but because of the sudden strange feeling that he was like.. asking her on a date or something. Nah.. no, no reason to get flustered. She just liked stars and where could you see more stars than on a tiny wonder in the middle of the cosmos? Saint Sergio Sorry for the delay dear! She toyed with her bangs a bit and just gave a slow laugh. "I would love to visit," she chimed in, bouncing a little and biting down on her lip. "I mean.. I can take you to Kepler once I figure out if it's a good place to take people. I haven't... done any exploring on it, not really." Ah, Rose felt bad now, that she didn't actually explore her home world. "...Your ancestor? You've met an ancestor?" Her eyes widened a bit and she seemed even more excited. "Wait, how?" Rose's mind went: If he could meet one of his ancestors could she meet one of hers? How would that happen? Did she have any? Lilac eyes looked to the side and she pondered on that before getting a little more flustered and laughed. "Ah, never mind. I'm sorry! I...will stop by the arcade one day after school."

"Yeah..." His brows furrowed a little as she mentioned his ancestor, his eyes rolling a bit at the thought of the very vocal, nosy, and flamboyant Mikael. Really he wasn't that bad, they were both just strong personalities. And Mikael seemed to take joy in teasing and pestering the newer Bimini.
Realizing the weird face he was making, he laughed suddenly, giving a soft shrug. "Oh umm. I think it's a fairly common thing for knights. You show up at your wonder and either some ghostly apparition of a past ancestor shows up or... I guess some people were reincarnated and they just see memories instead?"
"That all sounds really bizarre I know, but I guess it's not that much weirder than talking cats or the fact that the universe seems so intent on using children as it's warriors."
Her sudden flustering drew him back from his thoughts however, waving his hands lightly in front of him. "No, no, it's no trouble! I've never taken anyone before. It'll be kind of nice to show off all the work I've been doing lately."
"Plus you can get a look at the stars from a completely different angle." He added, as hopefully extra incentive.
She had mentioned homework once and now school, so Bimini couldn't help but try and dig a little, curious just how young the stargazer was. His attempt was fairly lame and awkward however. "So which school do you go to?"Saint Sergio Hey look'it me misspelling the ancestor's name in my first post. *terri-bad* >w<

So meeting an ancestor was common if you were a knight. Her fingers tapped together behind her back and she tilted her head to one side. Shifting a little, she moved over to her blanket and plopped herself down before motioning for him to join her with a wave of her hand and a curious expression. Rose hoped she wasn't being too presumptuous to assume he wanted to join her and stay a little longer. "Interesting.. I haven't met too many knights, honestly. I meet more youma or Negaverse agents. Probably my fault, considering I patrol a lot.." Her voice trailed off before she shook her head and looked back to him with a soft laugh. "It doesn't sound so bizarre. After all, I can travel through space faster then a space shuttle." And then the question came about her school and she gave him a little embarrassed expression. "Crystal, not for much longer. May I'll graduate and hopefully get into DCU where I can further my education in astronomy." She grabbed hold of one of the mini chip bags and opened it up with a great fuss that usually came with it. "You're welcome to the food or tea I brought. Soda, too.." She had sandwiches, canned soda, a thermos of tea. "I'm going to be out here for a while still. I'll crawl home just before dawn."

He didn't need a second invitation to sit and he really didn't need another invitation to partake in free food. As he settled onto the blanket, after adjusting the billowing robes and his silly sash around him, Bimini reached for one of the offered sodas and sandwiches. It was a good thing she didn't seem to mind his company, because it appeared more likely she'd have to shoo him off.
"I've met a good mixture of both I suppose. Quite a few knights of different sorts and a handful of other Cosmos knights." The hand that wasn't holding a soda can lifted, fingers ticking things off as he spoke. "A few Negaverse agents and tons of youma. And then of course the senshi that always come to save the day. I play a quite fetching damsel in distress." He teased, offering a playful wink.
Highschool. So she was quite a bit younger than him, despite the maturity that she seemed to hold. He wasn't entirely sure why she looked embarrassed when she answered though, so he continued encouragingly. "Ahh I'm sure you're not going to have any problem getting into DCU. If you actually care about this stuff and have passion you're leagues ahead of some of the college kids. Would you believe some people only go to college to party?" He asked, feigning horror at the rhetorical question he'd posed. Hell.. if he had gone to college it would have been to party. But he hadn't had the money for that - far too concerned with saving up for the day he could open his arcade.

When he sat down with his robes fluttering around him, Rose just grinned a little and shook her head. And she thought her big bow was a pain to deal with. She ate another little chip and just swayed from side to side before he ticked off who he met. Then she snapped right to attention and laughed. "Well, you don't make a very convincing damsel. Who knows, maybe I will have to swoop in and save you one day. I think I'll bring sodas if I do." She gave him an equally playful look at his wink. Admittedly, it did fluster her a bit more, which meant he was flirting. Rose wasn't used to being flirted with. Asking for help with homework? Yes. Being the designated driver to her friends who liked to party? Of course! But this? No. No guy seemed to pay her much attention and she was honestly wasn't too worried about it. As the topic shifted back to school, Rose nodded and shifted to sit Indian style, far more comfortable and then just sighed. "Yes, one of my neighbors actually went to DCU just to party. They flunked out, naturally, but they apparently still go to the parties." She sounded exasperated with it, but what could she do? "I'm trying to set a very good example for my siblings. They're younger than me, soooo." Rose laughed a bit more and then bit down on her lip. "Little Leslie wants to be just like me. She's five and the most adorable thing. So needy though. I had to promise her to spend an entire day with her to come out tonight. She likes to come and sleep in my bed... She can't do that if I'm out all night."
