Incanthis was taking a moment to gather his wits, as well as practice the magic that he was slowly gaining control over. It was a strange thing, magic. It was something that not everyone had the ability to use and even those who had the potential had to be a lot of work in to be able to use the power decently. It was something that he wanted to figure out, so that he would be more useful then he was of late. He felt a bit like dead weight since he'd been freed from Muata's hold, not exactly having any direction in his life. Everything was spiraling in a manner that left the young Shifter a bit on the dizzy side.
Shaking his head to free himself of his thoughts he gathered his power into the hand his beads were wrapped around. The beads were a lovely, glittering gold, and were a conduit for the power he wielded. As the power gathered, swirling around above his hand in the form of a wind spell, Incanthis couldn't help but to give a bit of a smile, "Ah! I did it!" He breathed, looking quite surprised and pleased over the fact that he had been able to summon up such power. Of course after looking around for a moment he realized that he had nobody to show it off to. How he wished his brothers were around... and how he wished he was braver and could actually bring himself to try to find them again. He'd made a huge mistake in fleeing from them before, letting his fears get the best of him.
There was no reason to think about that now though he told himself, throwing the magical power he had gathered into the air, sending a burst of wind flying up toward the sky. It was something that had Incanthis smiling for a moment... at least until he realized that there were some rather unhappy birds over head, a flock of them, that started to dive bomb him. It appeared as though his spell had hit some of them with the release of the magical power, which hadn't been his intention. In fact he'd released the power upwards to avoid bothering anyone. It would seem as though the attempt hadn't worked out.
"Oops." He murmured, gathering more power to himself, fumbling a bit with it. He hadn't had to use magic in battle before this moment, but he supposed there was a first time for everything. A shame that he couldn't go against something in a more prepared manner though. Getting caught off guard like this, it wasn't something that Incanthis cared for, it felt too much like the many times in the past that he'd gotten caught off guard by various, powerful people that were akin to a force of nature.
Once he had been able to gather enough power he sent it behind himself in a burst of electricity. It was enough to momentarily disperse the angry birds, as well as kill one of them, letting Incanthis pick up some speed as he tried to retreat.
